The stock streaming player on the evo seems to restart whenever you receive a text our call. This is very annoying because it also won't let you fast forward. It always starts the file over from the beginning. Does anyone havea fix for this? Or maybe a different player that works better?

On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I'm not sure if this was ever addressed but my EVO doesn't notify me of a new text while I'm on a call. Is there even an option for us to receive an alert of a new text while we're on the phone?

I found the option to change my outgoing text message under my settings, but now I just need to know how to use the feature. I tried it a few different ways with my son calling me while I was on another call, but I ended up dumping him into voicemail instead of sending the text message.
On my old flip phone when i got a call or text message with ringer on i could just hit the volume rocker and it shuts it up when i don't wanna take the call or message. On the moment i don't have that option. I have to hit end button, then menu, and then slide the notification bar down to shut it up. This be kind of annoying, especially when I'm in a meeting and forget to silence my phone before hand. There's a lot of times when i can't answer my phone and would love to reach in my pocket and hit volume button once to shut it up. So i guess what I'm asking is if there is a setting for this that i'm missing, or a different button that does the same.

View 34 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I'm running fresh evo .5.3 (Or whatever that build was, old, I know), and near the middle of the day I realized my phone was playing my notification sound (and led would blink once) and then my phone would suddenly reboot. The only changes I had made were installing a couple random apps, which I've uninstalled since then. Also, installed handcent and I get the same result. Other notifications work fun, but any text ones freeze and instantly reboot my phone. I'll probably end up doing a full (everything I need is in the cloud, don't mind reinstalling apps) wipe and flash of fresh 3.2.

I know there is a player on it from HTC called "Streaming Media Player" but it doesn't seem to be the default and I would like it to be. When I am using the Engadget app, and the article has a button to click for a video they have created, my phone seems to use the You Tube player and on occasion it just errors, but if I go to the actual article on the engadget web site and click the video, it opens in the HTC player and works fine. I don't get an option to choose which player I want to use when I click on videos, can I change any of this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I just create an app (that is using mediaplayer) to play the RTSP Streaming. At the beginning,I use the SIM card to connect to the internet. I try to let the app play for many times. But it was only success once. Many times the app could not play and the buffer always shows 0%. While I use the WiFi to connect the internet, the rtsp could be played but when I use the another WiFi to connect to the internet, to my surprise it failed. Both the SIM card and WiFi, it all could play the http Streaming. The RTSP Streaming is very strange, I can not understand. I guess there is maybe something wrong with Wireless.

I am currently new to android development I been working on the examples in the Dev Guide in the android website. I want to get a stream from a server I have to play in the emulator when I insert the url it doesn't seam to want to play. My question is there a way to get the emulator to play audio or is it all enabled also does MediaPlayer require a special kind of format like mp3 or ogg? his is the code i am running on my 'onCreate()' method.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have source code from an appli running on android 3.2 with a WAMP Server and WowZa Server on my desktop. I have to make it accept the HLS (Http Live Streaming). I saw on the web that the Vitamio Library can do that so i used it. I know that natively, android 3.0+ do it well but i do not succeeded make it work successfully.
The player is successfully displayed but no video starts..After a reboot of my router (because my server didn't answer), the player crash each time.
Somestimes yes, sometimes no, i have some logs, they are as attachment.I think a buffer problem...
