Jun 6, 2010

Having problems getting my small little brain to understand file's and file organization on this thing.First off I popped out the SD card that came with the phone and put in my 16Gig card I had in my Touch Pro2. Formated it and started trying to figure it out.First thing I notice, is that when I plug in the phone. It keeps looking for driver's Something about HTC sync? Don't tell me all the drivers and such were on the card that came with the phone? So first question What files do I need to get and were to get them? Second question

Android :: Need File Manager / That Open An HTML File From SD Card?

Jun 18, 2010

How come this is the only file manager on the market (that I've found... I went through quite a few) that can open an HTML file from your SD card? I was a loyal user of Estrogen until I found that it couldn't.

HTC Incredible :: Folders Organization In All Programs?

Sep 23, 2010

So is there still no way to do folders in all programs? Right now I'm using ShadowRom (love it) with LauncherPro and Folder Organizer as a solution but it's a wee bit laggy. I have like 50 game apps and I put them into a Games folder on my homescreen and then used LauncherPro to hide the games in the All Programs Menu to get rid of some of the clutter.

Motorola Droid :: Organization Of Gallery & Folders

Nov 12, 2009

I have a particular folder titled "vacation", where I have all my photos from each individual place I've been. I've also downloaded the application "File Cover" [but we'll get back to that later] So the "Vacation" folder has individual sub folders: NY, Miami, Beijing, Canada...etc. When I pull them up in gallery, all the photos show up together. I dont, however want my Beijing folder to show up because it has photos from inportant artifacts and whatnot I dont want everyone to see. I downloaded "File Cover" to hide and password protect them. But they still show up in the gallery in small thumbnails, even though they are locked.

Android :: Main Menu Folder Like Organization App

May 3, 2010

I am looking for an application that would let me organize my main Android menu using folders or groups of icons. Preferably in a similar way iPhone OS 4 does it but I'm not picky and anything that would help me to sort out the cluster of programs I use would be appreciated. I only look for two features in this application:

1. That it organizes in groups (under one icon) or folders applications in Android main menu (and not on the main screens with widgets).

2. That it was free as there's no paid apps at the moment in the Market where I live. So, if anyone could help me or know of an application like that I'd appreciate all the help!

Android :: Contact Organization In Emulator Different Than Phone

Nov 4, 2010

I am developing using Eclipse and the targeted SDK version is API 7 (Version 2.1). My phone has Android version 2.1-update1.

When running on the emulator, the contacts have an Organization section and within that section is Work Company, Title... When running on the phone, all contacts (Google and Phone) don't have the Organization section. So the app runs on the emulator but not the real phone.

I am using the API 5 class ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Organization to update Contact Organization. Why is the emulator different that the phone?

Samsung Fascinate :: Contact Search And Group Organization

Sep 27, 2010

Some help please.

1) Is there a way to load the keyboard when in contacts to type in the person's name to do quick searches instead of clicking the letter on the side or scrolling all the time?

2) When groups are created in Google contacts through gmail, it will appear on the phone, but it will not list the contacts in that group on the phone as it does on gmail's contacts. When trying to do it on the phone itself, when click on add contact for the group, it only lists contacts that are not assigned. How to I configure this?

Android :: Sd Card File Write

Mar 17, 2010

I'm trying to write a file from an Http post reply to a file on the sdcard. Everything works fine until the byte array of data is retrieved. I've tried setting WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission in the manifest and tried many different combinations of tutorials I found on the net. How my app writes file is by using a thread. Specifically, a thread is invoked from another thread when a file has to be written, so giving an activity object didn't work even though I tried it. The app has come a long way and I cannot change how the app is currently written. CODE:..................

I have opened up all folders that I don't know what's in them and I don't see the apps. Unless I'm missing something. Has anyone figured the name of the folder containing these SD card installed apps?

Android :: Save File To Sd Card?

I am trying to find the best way to save files to the phone. Basically I have an XML file on a web server that I would like to be able to save on the phone. Should I create a specific folder in my project to save to and if so how do I save the file. Or should I make it to where when you click the Save button it checks for an SD card and if there is and SD card create a folder (if one isn't already there) and save the file in the new folder or save it to the phone? If someone could explain the most efficient way of saving files for my app and how to save the file from the web server I would greatly appreciate the insight. Any tutorial links would be awesome.
