HTC EVO 4G :: Prompt Changed / How To Get Full Root?

I used Unrevoked to get root, could not install any ROMs at all till Ava 2.2 was released then was able to install it. Now, my root prompt in ADB shell has changed from $ to # which supposedly means I have full root. However, there are still files I cannot delete, rename or remove and can still not install other ROMs. Can I get full root? Will I have to revert all the way back to original release to get it? What on earth have I done? Is there hope for people in the Sahara desert? Can I fix it at all or am I stuck with this funky root?

I plug phone in. I run the simple root, and click root. It puts my phone into the while skating android screen. It looks for updates, but doesnt prompt me to download one. and it doesnt ask me to reboot. It isnt rooting my phone.

I just downloaded CM7.2 on my Galaxy551, using this thread URL....The phone has root, but it gives root access to everything without superuser prompting.I tried to update the su binary but it stops at "Making sure new su works". It just freezes there.

Does the newest version of the Unrevoked 3 enable a full root? I am able to do such things as install the Wifi tether app, which requires root, but I'm unsure if I can flash a new ROM with the Unrevoked root, or if I need to use another root method such as "Toast's".
I know this question has been asked/answered before, but I could not find any information regarding the newest version of the Unrevoked root.

So now that the full root is out...im just curious if there is a way to remove the bloatware on the phone using a program rather than having to run adb shell. ive removed most via adb, but just wanted to see if there was another way now that full root is available.

I really don't have any desire to root in general...perhaps if it were all simple and zero-risk, OK.
But I'm considering root just to get full, normal, access to microSD. Is root the only way to get access?

if i can root my device to gain full access but remain stock? Im wondering if i root the device can i gain full access, delete unnecessary sprint apps that i dont use but keep the default rom and not have to flash? Is it the rooting that gives full access or the flash to a custom rom?

I get this prompt whenever I open Dolphin Browser HD and I always have to select "Share location." Is there any reason why it keeps prompting? I have it set to where it saves my location. It never used to do this on 2.1

I'm trying to install a new lockscreen that I found on XDA. I have to use a command prompt to install and I'm completely lost. I just got a good handle on how to flash zip files but this is flying straight over my head. I have all the commands and codes or whatever but I don't even know where to begin I have a feeling this is probably very simple I've just never had any reason to do anything like this before.

I have been somewhat lax with my updates on my hero, and have only recently been made aware of the 2.1 android update. i only updated my build number to 2.73.110.91 yesterday, which i had to reinstall the 2.73.110.26 to do so. im under the impression that i should of received a prompt to update to 2.1 over the air? which has not happened. i have tried to /menu/settings/sytem software update, but im told there is no update available.. i have also attempted the 'move the clock forward' trick, but to no avail. have i missed another required update somewhere.

I see several posts talking about going to the command prompt on the DINC. I have searched and have NO idea where in the world it is. If they mean my computer's command prompt that sucks because I am at work and can't get into it.I was able to get it rooted with the leaked 2.2, now I just need the command prompt for some programs I want to install.FYI the leaked 2.2 is freaking amazing, haven't had a reboot (had many previous) since installation.

I am new to writing Android Applications, and I need to be able to implement the following functionality. When a user clicks a specific button, I want a customized "prompt" box to appear, containing several fields (a textfield, a password field, and a checkbox field). I would also be nice if I could add an image inside this box. How would I go about implementing this sort of functionality?

I am following the steps of this walkthrough. I have now completed parts two and 3 however during step 3 it asks to enter these in a command prompt.
adb shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
adb push recovery.img /sdcard
adb push flash_image /system/bin
adb shell chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
After entering these I get a message saying
"flash_image": not found
At the end of step 3 is that what is supposed to happen? From this I gather that the partition has not been created. Is it safe to go on to step 4?

In the EVO 4G section and I'm having the same issue with my Incredible. For the past couple of days every time I go to google.com I receive this prompt
This happens using the native browser or using Dolphin browser. All my location settings are set to allow sites to use my location (in the phone options and all browser options). I get the prompt both when I am logged into google and when I am logged out. I've even checked my google account settings "save recent locations" is set as On and "allow use of device location" is set to YES. No matter what combination of options I select within the prompt, it comes back every time I go to google.com. I've rebooted and even pulled out the battery and nothing changes. GPS on or off has no effect and clearing out my caches hasn't changed it either. My phone is stock except for being rooted.

I'm running into a bit of a problem that should be easy to fix but of course, it isn't. I have an Android Based Head unit AN-21 U, that I have connected to my car's OBD 2 port via USB (Obdlink SX). Every time I open the program to access the OBD adapter (Torque Pro, Dashcommand, or Touchscan) Android pops up a prompt asking permission to use the USB device. I check the default checkbox and it is not remembered, the next time I boot I have to answer the prompt again.

Since I upgraded to 2.2 I get a prompt to install software and the VZW web page in automatically launched every time I plug my phone into my computer. I read before my upgrade that this would happen once and then go away after it was declined once but mine seems to be persistent. I'd really rather not install their unnecessary software.

I use a bluetooth, and people typically can hear me quite well, but not the voice dialer. I am wondering if there is a way to get the voice dialer to prompt you to choose the contact instead of dialing directly. It's annoying when I say "Dial People's Gas" and it calls "Cheryl" I guess I am looking for the good ole voice promts that ask you "Call People's?" and you say yes or no.

I downloaded a battery life app today and after I did that a tiny command prompt looking thing appeared in the top right corner of my Incredible. Everytime I do an action, a line of code appears. For example, on my main page it says stuff like
system_server
m.android.phone
And other random code lines like that. Its in a tiny text in the top right of the touch screen. Is there any way to get rid of this? I tried to uninstall the battery app that seemed to cause it, but the prompt didn't go away with it.

2. adb shell
How can I go for sqlite> after step2 and I'm getting an $ after step 2 and then how can move further process. Suppose I want to view database means how can I do it. I given cd/data/data/(mypackage)/databases sqlite3 (database). After $ but it shows database not found. How can I view database executed through my code.

I am the beginner for android development. I followed the procedure as specified in developer.google.com for installing. I tried to create AVD(Android virtual device) through command path. I executed at command prompt.
android create avd --target 2 --name my_avd
But the Error is coming "Error: Target id is not valid. Use 'android.bat list targets' to get the target ids." After executing android.bat list targets it is showing blank. I am not able to figure out the problem as I have already set the path also.
