I remember seeing a switch widget that was a pop up window, sorta like switchpro but it incorporated all the options into one menu. Ive been looking all day for and wanted some help.

I'm looking for a widget that will pop up a window with my favorite contacts and allow me to dial them. Then the popup window will disappear. Is there any such thing?

So my first widget I want to create is something like: * A 2x2 widget * Containing 2 buttons * Button
1: Register current time and location * Button
2: Open up an activity where configuration can be modified, registered times and location can be viewed,...
Now the problem for me is button 1. As I only try to do some registration data (so no further user input required after pressing the button) I would like to just show a loading bar and after wards Toast a message to screen, or a popup if anything goes wrong.
This is what I do now:

So what happens: I click the button, a plain black screen pops up (Altough I did not specify a layout upon creating the activity), and after my work is done the Toast shows up and the activity gets 'killed'. Basically that is what I want to do except for the black screen to show up. Is it possible not to show a screen upon creating the activity?
I have the 3500mah battery for my hero it got down to about 10 percent so I switched to the stock battery and when I. Switched back to the 3500mah battery and my battery widget says its at 50 percent I mean I can understand the widget isn't perfect but wow that's a big margin to be off by so how do I know how much charge it really has? O and i used the htc widget.

I'm looking for a widget that will disable all sound (including system sound) and put the device into vibrate mode, similar to how the physical silence toggle works on the iPhone. I've tried the Beautiful Silence and Beautiful Vibrate widgets, but they do not play nice together on my Droid X: When I toggle silence, I cannot toggle vibrate and vice-versa. I then moved on to AudioManager, but that involved too many steps for my liking; I just want a quick button press. I am aware of Quick Profile, but that seems like overkill for what I'm trying to accomplish, though I haven't tried it yet. Currently, I'm using Sound Manager, which does exactly what I want, but as a shortcut and not a widget. This is almost perfect. The problem I'm having is that some times, when I click the shortcut it launches the Sound Manager app instead of it's normal behavior: launch the Sound Manager app, change the sound settings, and close Sound Manger in an instant.

What is the basic difference between the PhoneWindow and MidWindow policies? I found that the emulator version takes the implementations of the PhoneWindow.When the MidWindow implementations will be used? Also, I found that PhoneWindow handles the call settings implementation and the same is not there in MidWindow? Please someone help me pointing out the differences between both the policies and under which circumstances which one will be used.

What is "window.demo.clickOnAndroid()"? I know that clickOnAndroid is a method in my Android application. But what is window and demo? My file is called demo.html. Is that it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was playing around with the Motorola MotoDev IDE, which is kind of a jazzier front-end to Eclipse, and it asks you on startup if you want the Android emulator to show up in an IDE window. I said yes. That makes the emulator show up in an Eclipse tab, like the Console, Outline, etc. After a while it became apparent that MotoDev wasn't sufficiently different than Eclipse to make it worth the install. So I got rid of it. This is on Mac OS X with Snow Leopard. Now when I start Eclipse and run any Android project, even Hello world, the Console shows the emulator installing and the APK installing, and the Intent starting. But no emulator window. I found a setting in Eclipse->Preferences->Android->Launch Settings that said -no-window for the emulator. MotoDev must have set that. That had to be it. I got rid of it and still no Emulator. So I got rid of Eclipse, the SDK, everything and did a full fresh install of everything. Still no emulator window. I can start the emulator with an AVD from the command line fine and I see it. But from Eclipse, nada.

What is this all about ?
IN my application i want to show trasitions if i go from one activity to other.We can set the animation for both activities and call when one is closing and other is opening.
But problem is when , the current animation will stop when the onCreate of next activity is called ?
Means , when activity is pushed to stack , ongoing animation is stopped. Because of this we cannot show a smooth transition effect between activities.
I went to the local VZW store to play with one. It looks as if the default web browser is limited to 3 windows, is this the case? I know stock android can handle up to 8. Is there a way of allowing more than 3 windows? or is it just a setting that was set on the store's demo phone? I know I can use an alternate browser like Opera or Dolphin (and I very well may) But isent the default browser the only one that can use the "Flash Lite" that HTC added? (Something I want to take advantage of until real flash comes)
