May 14, 2010I'm sure this may have been discussed or gone over but i seriously have no time right now to search for answers, I'm lucky i have time to post this thread but Ive been wanting to do it and get answers.
First off, i love the phone however there are some issues Ive come across.
(1) Deleting multiple messages/emails, can the emails/msgs just be selected (highlighted) all at once and deleted? its very very tedious to delete each and every one individually.
(2) While I'm talking about deleting emails, Ive come across an issue where some emails delete but then reappear, kept trying to delete them and they kept reappearing, whats going on here?
(3) My address book is a mess, it somehow has facebook people added into all my other numbers, anyway to undo all that somehow?
(4) Clock --- Is there a app to have the clock displayed sideways while i sleep? i have the verizon belt clip and turning it so the phone lays sideways on table works perfectly BUT the clock doesn't display sideways, isn't that horrible!?
(5) How do you refresh a browser page?
(6) Voice Dialing --- I use a Blue Parrot Bluetooth, the phone is not recognizing when i push the button on the parrot to voice dial someone, or isn't this phone capable of voice dialing? The blue parrot worked great on my blackberry.
Thats all i can think of right now, I'm sure most of them can be answered.

May 3, 2010After implementing some Android Apps, including several Map activities, I try to refresh the activity when the GPS listener's onLocationChanged() mehtod is called. I have no idea how to tell the map activity to refresh on its own and display the new coords. the coords to store will have to be in global values, so that the location listener will have access to it. In my sample GPS-class (see code below) I just changed the text of a text view....but how to do that in map view?

Apr 14, 2014I have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

Jun 15, 2010Why is it every time I go to the internet, the last page viewed shows? I have my home page set to "Google." Shouldn't Google be the page that shows up? Also, it seems to save the history, even after I delete history, cookies, caches. Why? I was told to try and keep this, as well as deleted email, empty or the phone may become slow.

Sep 8, 2010I am trying to root my EVO and getting stuck at a certain point.I am following the instructions/videos found here:[GUIDE] How to root Android 2.2 on the EVO 4G - xda-developers.I have followed the directions successfully up until I am instructed to me to boot with HBOOT USB and then remove the battery to restart, and run reflash.exe.I am stuck running unrevoked (reflash); the phone does not display the console but rather boots normally. The first time running reflash seems to be working normally until it reboots and searches for the phone, at which point hangs. Any attempt to restart the process will hang at Pushing Recovery Image. I have waited patiently over 10 minutes for each.After the phone fully boots it my computer lists in Device Manager now lists my phone under ADB Interface.I am using windows 7. I have USB debugging I have removed HTC sync (still have HTC drivers installed) and installed the Android Bootloader Drivers. I also am running reflash.exe as Admin.

Oct 27, 2010I've got a bunch of live wallpapers for sale, and have a lot of 1-star comments that just say "Doesn't open". This is because there's no launcher activity, so the open button is greyed out after download. I'm attempting to fix this by including an activity that explains what to do, and I'm trying to avoid useless app clutter by disabling that activity once they've successfully used the wallpaper. This seems to work fine, the problem is the app icon doesn't go away right away. It stays in the app drawer and if you tap it you get a "this has been disabled" message. Eventually it will be removed if the phone is rebooted or if the home app is restarted. I'd like to clean this up. Is there a way to tell Home to refresh this list, or to otherwise tell it to remove the icon from the listing? It seems a bit rude to process kill Home for this purpose, and clearly something like this happens when an app is installed/ uninstalled.

Android :: Refresh Layout While Filling It
Jul 8, 2010I have an activity with a HorizontalScrollView. When it opens, I start filling this view (or rather, a container layout inside it) with another views. This is done from another thread by using handler.post.
The views are added in bunches of 15, and when there are no more views to add, I start updating them with new data (this is a kind of streaming data from a server).
The problem is that the scrollview is empty until all of the views are added. As soon as they are all added and start updating, the scrollview gets drawn.
How do I refresh it in the process of adding views? I don't want the screen to be empty for 3 seconds while all of the views are added.

Anyway, I was just wondering about friend stream. On paper its a good little app bringing together twitter and facebook. My issue is that it doesn't refresh on its own? But the peep app and the facebook app's do? Let me know if this happens with you or if I am just missing one of those hidden settings.

When I click on stop, I want everything to be stopped and the activity should come back to its origin state. To the state that is exactly same like when launched (when we tapped on App icon in mobile).Is it possible to do this? I tried with finish() , this killed the app and exited . I don't want to exit from main screen. rather, on clicking STOP I want app to come back to origin or born state.
