Nov 14, 2009Haven't been able to find any programs or info on being able to link my Spring Hero up to my Apple PowerBook to sync with my contact list, address book, and calendar. Are there any programs out there for this? I suppose I can do it the long way, and do some sort of export to my windows laptop, but would like to avoid this step if possible.
I looked long and hard at the iPhone vs. the Hero, and decided the Hero, besides having the obvious battery removal and SD expansion capabilities, would be open to more programs potential because of the open-source, linux-style OS.
I'm hoping that as time goes by, programs will be written to allow syncing with Apple computers, and OS X. It's hard to believe that almost nothing has been written in the forums on this subject. Please point me to any topics along this thread, or others in other forums if you know of them.
HTC Desire :: Uninstall App From Apps Download List?
Jun 25, 2010I went to purchase the acircuit live wallpaper app. The transaction failed to go through because my bank blocked it, as it was less than 1. It is now sitting in my list of downloaded apps in the Market app (not the installed list) and it says purchased. There is an install option, which if pressed tries to download it again, but fails because it has been blocked. I don't want the app now and just wish to clear this from my download list. I have installed an unistaller app, but this just shows a list of the installed apps. Can anyone help me with a solution to get rid of this from my app downloads list in the Market app.

Jul 12, 2013I have been messing with System Cleanup moving apps into system partition, etc. There was a glitch and now there's a 0-byte app that is physically removed (no files left as far as I can see) but still present on the app list. I can neither uninstall it further nor reinstall it (says can't install into the specified directory or something to the effect).
Is there a way to ULTIMATELY remove all traces of a (system) app manually? Is there a database of some sorts in Android where an entry could still be present? I would like to make Android forget it ever had the app in question (much less it was at some point moved to System) and be able to reinstall it as a user app.
Running an old Gingerbread Samsung Gio phone, BTW.

For example, the following programs were pre-installed:

Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?

Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.

Jun 1, 2010This phone is so fast, especially on the home screens. It doesn't matter how many apps or widgets I put on the "desktop" it still scrolls smoothly. However, the same cannot be said for the "all programs" list. It is not laggy, but it could scroll more smoothly. It seems to start smoothly but as you scroll down it gets a little jerky. Anyone else notice this? Other menus seem very smooth in comparison.

Now when I compose an SMS message, and begin typing the name of the person in my contact list, only some of the names that match will appear in the drop down auto-complete list but others that match don't show up at all. To compose SMS to them I have to use the Contacts>Scroll to contact>Select text to mobile method. Any ideas why some of the contacts do not show up in the auto-complete list when composing an SMS and typing in a partial name in the To field?

Mar 27, 2010I have the original T-Mobile G1 and am generally fond of it, actually so fond im on the verge of getting myself the HTC Desire when it hits the stores here. There are however a few things that "bug" me at present.
1: Is it possible to install and use programs directly from the memory card, or does programs still have to be installed to memeory with the newest release of Android OS?
2: Isn't it possible to turn of threaded messsaging and revert to the more classic look?. Either directly through the native client or through a 3rd party text messaging client?
3: And what about saving some of your texts?. Cause you know once in a while you recieve a text thats worth saving, and at present I don't seem to be able to find that option in 'Droid. So is that not supported or does that "just" require 3rd party software.
4: And have they finally fixed the forced google sync?. Where you can ONLY get contacts and stuff to your android device through gmail. Because im honestly a bit concerned with the fact that Google "owns" everything on gmail.

Android :: Android List View Background Colors Always Showing Grey
Sep 9, 2009I have a ListView that I'm populating from a custom ListAdapter. Inside the Adapter (in the getView(int, View, ViewGroup) method) I'm setting the background color of the View using setBackgroundColor(int). The problem is that no matter what color I set the background to it always comes out a dark grey. It might also be worth noting that I'm using the Light theme.
