HTC EVO 4G :: CPU Always Running On 998MHz ?

Jul 12, 2010

My phone has been running on 998MHz since i got the phone and its 0003 version and with every update. Its a stock phone, no root or using any overclock app thins like that. not thing is on like WIFI, GPS, 4G and BT. onlything is life wallpaper for starfield.

I'm using SystemPanel from market to monitor my phone. and from what i see the detail, it shows Minimum clock 998MHz and Maximum clock 998MHz.....is it something wrong there ? the phone is not hot or anything, its about 92.7'F, just CPU running 998MHz all the time.

On another hand, my wife's evo CPU is going up and down depends how many apps are open. for me, I close all the apps and still running high at 998MHz......can anyone tell me why is it Minimum clock 998MHz and Maximum clock 998MHz at the same time?

Android :: Running Application On Emulator Running Older SDK

Jun 28, 2010

I have a project that builds against Android v2.1 . I can run it fine on a phone running 1.5 but when I try to launch it with an emulator running 1.5, the emulator doesn't show up on the list of available AVDs. I have the <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3"/> tag in my manifest but it doesn't make a difference.

Android : Kill The Currently Running Thread - If One Is Currently Running

Nov 4, 2010

I've created a class which is an extension of Thread. This class hits a web service and throws some data on screen. I don't care about persisting this data (the screen displays search results).

Currently, the user simply types into an EditText and clicks a search button. I'd like to take away the search button and implement something similar to Google's Instant Search where, as you type, the search results get updated.

This means, as the user types, the search parameters change. I want to be able to kill the currently running thread (if one is currently running) and spawn a new one with the new search string. How can this be achieved? Can I do it with Thread or will I need to use a new object?

App Not Running In AVD?

May 8, 2012

I've got Eclipse (Indigo) installed and I've used Eclipse extensively in the past so nothing too new to me there. I've installed the Android SDK and all the associated packages via the SDK Manager. All the icons have appeared in Eclipse and I can start an Android Project so it all looks good. I've created two AVDs - one 4.0 and another 2.1.

The trouble I'm having is getting my app (ANY app) to run in the AVD. I've followed a number of tutorials on how to do this and they are all very similar. I create a Run Configuration naming my Project and the default activity (created at the same time I created the Project) and associated it with one of the AVD (appropriate to the Project version.)

The AVD starts and eventually I get the full Android home screen, as expected, but that's it. Nothing else. I've watched a video on YouTube showing what should happen and my console output isn't the same. I don't get the bit about installing the apk.I've left the AVD for a number of HOURS as I've read that it can sometimes take a fair while to launch but after five hours nothing has changed.

If I hold down the home button, it brings up a screen that shows the last 6 running apps and you can choose between them. How do you see more then 6? Why does it now show everything? Or does Android only allow 6 apps to run at once?

HTC EVO 4G :: Cannot Get Clockwork Mod Running

I seem to need this file: www.droidaftermarket.com

which is now a dead link. When I try to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" via ROM Manager, it tells me "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands."

In the now-defunct IDIOT-PROOF ROOT GUIDE, it says to remedy this by loading the file linked above, but again, a dead link provides no help.

HTC Hero :: Best Running App

Jul 17, 2010

There are quite a few running apps on the market. The one I use a lot is speedometer which allows you to upload your runs.Whilst handy for seeing the route that you've taken and you're speed at different stages the graph it plots is distance against speed, and it would be useful to have speed against time.I've got on well with speedo so far, but I'd just like to know if there's something better that I've not discovered yet.

Android :: Problem Running On 1.6 SDK

Sep 20, 2009

I'm testing my app with the new 1.6 SDK, and I ran into the error below. The InstantiationException doesn't give me much details. I'm wondering if anyone can give me a tip for how to debug this type of situation. Also, if someone could point me to the source for PhoneLayoutInflater I'd appreciate it.

Note: This application works well using the 1.5 SDK. I've tested the 1.5 SDK version a lot in preparation for the ADC2.

This problem occurs on a 1.6 Platform, HVGA, API Level 4, Google APIs AVD.

I'll describe the code a bit, and give the actual lines which are involved.

First, I've sub-classed RelativeLayout. I've only dynamically added a view to the layout after inflation is complete. This RelativeLayout sub-class is used in a ListView.

Here are the bits that actually do stuff:

CODE:.........

I've put a break point at the first line of both the CheckableRelativeLayout constructor and onFinishInflate method, but neither method seems to be reached.

I instantiate this class from an XML layout like so:

CODE:.............

I also added a Java exception breakpoint for InflateException and I get this stack:

CODE:...........

I searched the GIT repository for the PhoneLayoutInflater, but could not find it. Anyone know where I can find the source for this PhoneLayoutInflater?

Finally, here is the error:

CODE:................

Motorola Droid X :: Is Anyone Still Running 2.3.13?

Sep 25, 2010

Im still running this version of Froyo and Im loving it. Im deodexed with a little bit of build.prop I got from someone on an XDA thread.I compared my phone to a coworker who has OTA. He was all stock. No apps even. And my phone loaded sites and the Market 3x faster than his.ive been skeptic about p3s 2.3.15 and especially the OTA esp since it upgrades the bootloader. So does TBH 2.3.15 upg the bootloader too??im more than satisfied with my leak. however, if anyone can justify why i should head over to either versions of the 2.3.15 ill do it. but otherwise im sticking with what i got.

HTC EVO 4G :: Running Apps Showing

Aug 3, 2010

Did the update to 2.2 with no problems (2 phones). Notice now that under Settings / Applications / Manage Applications /Running there's a lot more info than before.

In the list of 'running apps' it shows things like Flickr, Facebook, Footprints all with the HTC Corporation underneath them. I'm assuming this is part of HTC Sense and they can not be 'turned off' since I tried to kill them (don't use Flickr nor Footprints) but see they come back on by themselves.

Under the Apps screen there's no icon for Flickr but there is one for Footprints. But, it doesn't have anything under settings that says "Don't start" or similar.

I'm just trying to make sure that the update didn't install or modify settings on some of the services/apps I turned off when I got the phone as part of my power management tweaks. It appears that some of these have indeed been reset (My Sprints, for example, completely reset to have all notifications, news, updates etc. turned on when I had turned them off previously).

So, i'm assuming that the HTC related items can not be 'turned off' unless anyone knows a way to do it.

And, just to make you aware, some of your settings most likely have been reset if you've done the update to 2.2 which will affect your battery life.
