View 6 Replies View RelatedI take quite a few videos of my kiddos playing tball, soccer, etc and like to send them to my parents & inlaws but they always look like crap when they get them bc the phone downgrades the quality of the video before sending it (Note 2). Is there anyway to send a high quality video either by mms or an app? I've tried sending via email (gmail), but they cap attachment file size pretty low.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy youtube looks terrible on the G1. To be honest, I can't even use it at all. Is there a way to watch it in "high quality" like on real youtube. I absolutely hate to say it, but it looks a lot better on the iphone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDon't know if any of u have noticed this or if I'm just super late but I just recently went into the YouTube app and was actually able to stream videos. I'd say out of 10 times the vid streamed 9. Though IM still having difficulty streaming in high quality.
View 16 Replies View RelatedOkay, so when I use the you tube app on just about every other phone, there is sometimes a button at the corner of a video to let me upgrade to the high quality version of the vid. This does not happen when I use the app on the X10. Do I just need to do an upgrade, or is this some bizare thing that the x10 just doesn't do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a big fan of mythbusters and i'll bet that many of your are too. I like all those high speed camera shoots and i was thinking if would it be possible to make an app to use the camera to shoot high speed videos. I am not thinking like professional high speed video (those go up to millions of fps) but more like up to 1000 or 500. The desire should be able to shoot hd 720p video (lets hope with the next update) and may be would be possible to to make lower resolution high speed videos. I think the cpu is enough, but would the camera be able?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening recently: ill be watching videos in high quality, then all of a sudden ill click to watch another video and go through the menu to set it to high quality and only get home page and settings (high quality is supposed to be the third option).
I have connection, etc but the option just decides not to show up and the only way I got it back the last few times its done it is by turning the phone off/on. Anybody else run into this or am I missing something?
I just got my samsung galaxy (and love it), but when i make/receive calls, i can barely hear the person on the other end. i have my call volume set to the highest (5), but it's still just too difficult to hear. has anyone else had a problem like this, or does it sound like a defect? maybe there's an app that can fix this? i bought my phone on ebay, so i have two more days to report any issues defects with my phone to be able to return it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOK. I asked this a different way but I'd like to get some more input. The loudness on the phone is definitely lower after the 2.1 update. To the point that the speakerphone can't be used in the car while under 1.5 it could be used (it was very loud). A lot of discussion on this topic and the only fix given is using a leaked program that is copyrighted. Is there a way to change the phone settings for loudness without using this program? It is almost like they applied that EU loudness mandate. Makes the speakerphone useless now for me.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
As a first step toward a speech recognition project, we wrote a simple voice recording application based on the information in this thread: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/threa...
It is working; however, the audio is extremely poor -- too staticy for our needs code...
As a comparison, here is a similar audio file captured with audacity on a PC: http://juzzam.org:9090/myAudioFile_onPC.mp3
Has anyone been able to record high quality audio with the emulator? If not, is it any better on the android dev phone?
According to the documentation of MediaRecorder, there is only one audio encoder "AMR (Narrowband) audio codec" and three output formats--3gpp, mpeg, and raw AMR: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/MediaRecorder.html
Here is the Activity source: http://juzzam.org:9090/RecordMicrophone.java.txt
We are testing on Windows XP, with a Logitec USB microphone, eclipse ganymede, and we are using all the defaults for an android 1.5 app (no emulator command-line options.. we defined the sdcard in the avd manager).
My speaker buzzes all the time on my phone (not the speaker phone - it works fine). It's not a network buzz, it's a vibration buzz of the metal or speaker. The center camera is also off-center a little bit, which makes me think something up there is off-center, misglued or loose.
We have two other evos and neither of them buzz on the same call. I called the Sprint Nav Voice Address thing from all 3 phones since that would be the exact same voice and words every time. Only mine buzzes. The other two don't have the camera problem either.
Every video comes up smaller than the actual screen..is there a way to make the videos become full screen?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering...on Android Web, I could find two completely opposite ways of defining which direction the positive X acceleration is. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/SensorEvent.html At the bottom, it says "When the device lies flat on a table and is pushed on its left side toward the right, the x acceleration value is positive. " However, http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/SensorListene..., it says "When the device is pushed on its left side toward the right, the x acceleration value is negative (the device applies a reaction force to the push toward the left) "

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out exactly how to interpret the rotation angles produced by a Sensor Event for Sensor.TYPE_ORIENTATION. Unfortunately, the documentation (http://developer.android.com/reference/android/ hardware/Sensor Event.html#values) doesn't give a complete definition of it. It defines what the axes are, but doesn't specify what order the three rotations are applied in, nor whether the later rotations are around transformed or untransformed axes. Without knowing that, it's impossible to know what the actual rotation is that's being described.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Eclipse, when I mouse hover over a built-in method, it displays a method definition including stuff like what the method does, input objects, return objects etc. If I have a yellow line (warning) under the method I'm trying to use, I can't get the mouse-over to show the definition. If I try hitting F3, I get a "The Jar of this class file belongs to container "Android 1.6" How do I show the definition of the method I am using when there is a warning?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Pandora since its inception. One of my favorite stations has always been Steve Miller band. Its always played what you would expect: 70s music. But lately its been stepping out of that decade and playing bands like smashing pumpkins and chili peppers. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm digging it, but found the sudden changes to be unexpected. Other stations have been doing the same. Has anyone else noticed the changes? If so, are they good choices, or do you find yourself hitting thumbs down quite a bit?
