Is there a way to save a wallpaper that is in a theme. If i download a GDE theme and like one of the wallpapers and want to save it to my card how would i do that? I saw one thread that said search in Astro for it but I did that and I cant find it anywhere. Would someone be able to help?

I was thinking of changing my eris around a little bit as far as the look. I don't want to root my phone though (not yet anyway). Is there an app or a way that I can install a theme set for my icons or at least change them all myself without having to root my phone? I'm also wondering what the best app is for a new lockscreen.

I know I've changed my lockscreen wallpaper before but for some reason now when I go back to try and change it again it won't work.Let me rephrase that.I start at my homescreen, hit my menu button, select wallpaper, select lockscreen, and instead of giving me an option to use a pre-saved wallpaper or a photo from my album, it just drops me immediately into my photo album..
View 1 Replies View RelatedLet me preface this by saying I am a 48-hours deep Android NOOB, so I apologize if the solution to this is something unbelievably simple that I have just overlooked. I don't think it is, because I am very experienced with WinMo, BB, and WebOS and don't usually pull NOOB type moves.
So, I have a Droid Eris. Actually, I have two. Well, I have one and she has one, anyway. I have had no trouble with hooking mine up to the computer with USB, mounting it, and moving files back and forth. One of the first things I did was load files on.
When I try and hook hers up, I plug it in with the same USB cable (one of the cables that came with them, btw), mount it, and nothing happens. It isn't recognized by the computer. The first time I did this with her phone, I had a little balloon pop up on the task bar that said something about "installing HTC Dream".
If I go to my computer tho, nothing is there that could be the phone. I checked my device manager in the control panel, and under "ADB Interface" i have HTC Dream listed. This is as far as I have gotten with this. This all came about because she couldn't figure out how to set the theme song from the office as her tone for text messaging. I hooked it up to the computer to try and see if I could move the file into a different folder to try and set it, and ran into this f-stick of a problem.
Are you guys having trouble setting wallpaper. Here is the problem i want to set the whole picture as the wallpaper but when you set as on the eris a box pops up the picture and you have to adjust it. I don't want that I want the whole dam picture. Are you guys having trouble. I found a website that has wallpaper with correct size but when i send it to myself i have to adjust the picture with that dang box.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the eris a couple weeks ago, and then the trackball died so verizon sent me a new one. Now on the new phone when I try to change my homescreen wallpaper, it always wants to zoom in on the image. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it will let me use the full width, but not the full length while looking at the phone with the buttons on the bottom. So I have an image that is 320x480, and it wants to crop it down to 200x200 for example. It zooms in and makes it a square, instead of a rectangle like the screen is. I just want the wallpaper to be what it looks like when the image first opens from the photo album app. But as soon as I try to make it a wallpaper it wants to zoom in and make the photo look dumb.

Well I found a new pic I want to make my wallpaper so I go to albums find the picture hit set as home wallpaper and change it, but when it says it was set as my wallpaper I go to look and its still the default one i set awhile ago.

We know that with the OTA we won't be getting live wallpapers, so for the people that want them I say we should try to port it over to the Eris. Unfortunately I have close to no knowledge on how to port. If anyone knows how to and is willing to it would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a TV commercial with an android phone (not sure which carrier) but as the person scrolled thru the 7 screens, there was a different background image/wallpaper on each of them. It definitely was HTC Sense UI that I saw in the commercial.

Perhaps this has been addressed previously, but i haven't found an answer yet. every picture i put up on my lockscreen wallpaper gets cut off by that stupid lock bar with the clock on it. does anyone know how to make that go away or transparent at least? it is driving me crazy and i haven't "found an app for that" yet.

Every time I have it kill my tasks it takes me to the HTC screen (the one that appears during start-up) and then "please wait" appears with my wallpaper in the background. It does still kill the tasks however it has never done this before and it seems abnormal. Ive heard that task managers can be bad for your phone?
