I don't think that this was an issue prior to receiving the OTA update earlier this morning, but when I display 'All Programs' there are multiple entries for several programs including Bubble, MySettings, Paper Toss and ShopSavvy. Has anyone else experienced this? Nothing looks unusual (e.g., duplicate entries) when I go to 'Manage Applications'. I just cannot figure out how to get rid of the duplicate program icons.

I currently have my work Groupwise e-mail forwarded (using a rule in Groupwise) to my Gmail. Only problem is that many folks at work use group distribution lists to send out e-mails. Many of these lists have hundreds of recipients. When I open these e-mails on my phone I often have pages of recipients to scroll through before I ever get to the message.

1: I had a program on 1.5 that was called city caller ID and it displayed the city and state of incoming calls. When I upgraded to the newest software, I can't locate this software in the Android market. So I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions on Caller ID apps that work good?
2: In regards to the other app, I was wondering if they had something like the Blackberry does where when I have the phone plugged in and the screen times out, a clock would be on the screen instead of just the normal black screen?
I'm sure its been covered somewhere but does anyone have an explanation as to why when I open advanced task killer it tells me a bunch of apps, that I didn't open, are running? Doesn't really slow my phone down too much, just annoying... Running Eris Root KaosFroyo

View 13 Replies View RelatedHope you guys can help. Since the 2.1 update I have certain apps which appear to be opening in the background when I didn't open them. I have Advanced Task Killer, and when I go in for example it shows Messages running, when I kill it, it will reappear in 30 secs or so, the same with MP3 store. Can these apps be stopped so they don't take up memory or what's the deal here. Thanks for any help.

Google Maps & Latitude, Youtube, the Market will not load properly and will either give error messages or won't load at all. Gmail, Voice, Gtalk and the web still work. I have did a couple reboots, pulled the battery, cleared the cache and nothing has helped. Any suggestions short of a factory restore or the Verizon store?

Mainly, I would like the LAST name to be displayed first (ie - Smith, John D.). The other thing is - Is there any way to get the person's company or relationship to show up under their name? I carry a lot of contacts with me when I travel from many different companies and the Blackberry did this.
Is it possible to add the date to the top row when the time is displayed? For example "11/19"

If you have missing contacts in your contact list (even if all contacts is selected) but when you search for them they come up, here is the worlds easiest fix. Log into your google mail on your computers browser, click "contacts". In the left hand column the 1st row says "my contacts", note the total.Now 2nd to the bottom there it says "all contacts". If that total is more, click on it. At the top of the list of names click "all", In the column to the right there is a box that says "add to my contacts", Dont worry it will not duplicate contacts. Click on "add to my contacts" Now after this my phone started syncing contacts automatically, if yours does not, force the sync in the settings, accounts, google. as soon as its done, your missing contacts are now displayed.

Each contact is listed 4 times, and it's really annoying having to scroll through 400 people when there really should only be around 100. To see the numbers, I have to edit the contact. This is only true for some, not all. I went to install my apps and my purchased apps aren't listed in My Downloads.According to the help for Market I should perform a factory reset. Dutifully reset the phone, signed in and still no apps.
