HTC Desire : Sd Card Unmounted / How To Reset?

Apr 15, 2010

My SD card is showing as unmounted. Looking at other android phones i need to take it out and put it back in again. Is this really necessary? I have tried settings but that only gives option to format, but not to remount it. I don't want to take the back of the phone unless i really have to as its certainly a snug fitting case.

General :: Any Way To Remove Factory Reset Option From Recovery?

Dec 20, 2013

I'm on a team that manages a large number of Android tablets for the company at which I'm employed. The higher ups are concerned that our users will just walk off with the tablets and do a factory reset, making the device theirs. I was hoping there was some way to password-protect the bootloader, but it doesn't seem like that's possible. So now we're thinking that even if we could remove the recovery, it would ease the minds of the higher-ups to know that if a tablet disappears, the user will have to have a working knowledge of fastboot to be able to to a factory reset on the device, and that's good enough for us. I've looked into possibly modifying the stock recovery to just remove the factory reset option, and I would be willing to flash a modified CWM or TWRP without factory reset, if either of them exist.

I know the old adage: Physical access is root access, but if we can at least dissuade them from stealing the devices, it would make my bosses feel much more at ease about spending a buttload on the tablets.

And one more question, how do I hard reset my phone to get it back to factory settings. Also, what will happen to my paid apps? I actually paid for Beautiful Widget and when I restore, I don't want to use the same Gmail to set up my contacts as before cuz that account gets too much spam.

General :: Unable To Access Application Data From SD Card After Factory Reset

Mar 2, 2013

Yesterday I tried to install a custom ROM on my device (HTC Evo 3D GSM Europe) for the first time and it took close to 12 hours to get it from ICS 4.0.4 to ICS 4.0.3 (when my intention was actually JB 4.2). Let's just say that forgot to backup his Shipped ROM, then installed JB, was incompatible with the boot loader, tried desperately to find a compatible shipped RUU that worked with the CID, spent countless hours searching in xda-developers and then finally settled for a custom ICS ROM until some time in the future.

Now on to my problem. Prior to my Factory Reset, I had moved all applications to the SD card. A simple look-over in the file system indicates all the data is still there, but reinstalling the applications and even moving them back to the SD card doesn't seem to give them access to the prior data (saved games, stored profiles, lists and anything else I might have done). It's as if the app has been installed for the first time.

Is there any way to "link" the data back to the apps (after yesterday's endeavor I ended up with a rooted phone, at least)?

General :: Can't Remove SD Card

Apr 4, 2014

My phone "broke" few weeks ago, it's a Rise Kyocera Android, and it went to black screen due to a heavy flashlight falling on it. It can still turn on but it remains a black screen. I'm due for an upgrade for a new iPhone in May but I want to safely remove my SD card from the android and I don't want to trade in my old phone for a new one since I don't know if they log me out of my FB and YouTube and I don't want to risk that they don't. And I want to keep my original phone number cause I receive verification code for when I log into things.

So question is: can I safely remove my SD card from my phone even if it's a black screen?

HTC Desire :: T9 Prediction - How To Reset?

Jun 2, 2010

In messages (HTC Desire), when I type 'if', it automatically suggests 'of'. I don't want to turn off the word predictions because generally I find them very useful but I have no idea why it keeps wanting to change 'if' to 'of'; obviously with 'if' being such a common word, it's a real hassle to keep changing it. I wonder if when I got the phone I typed 'if' and meant 'of', so changed it, but now I can't see how to get it back. Does anyone have any ideas how I can reset the prediction?

HTC Desire HD :: How To Factory Reset

Nov 11, 2010

How you factory reset the DHD. Have been having a few probs with the phone, that cannot seem to sort and neither could Orange, so am thinking of just resetting back and starting again.

The prob for information, if anyone can sort this. Is that I have one contact on my phone, that when I send a message to them, sometimes I get a text response back from the Orange 177 service, saying that they could not understand my request. Have spoken to Orange, and they say they have removed the 177 service, but, am still getting the message. When I do get the 177 message back, the actual recipient does not receive the message and I have to resend again

This particular contact on their FB account did have their number starting 1775..... rather than either 44 or just the standard 0 ... so I think it is getting confused, however, that number has been removed from FB, I deleted all traces of this contact and even deleted the FB account from my friends list ... then added them all back in to FB and into the phone .... although, am still getting this 177 response ... but it is not always, and on my bill there is no sign of the number being texted.

HTC Desire : How To 'reset' Contacts?

Jul 29, 2010

I'm thinking of resetting (e.g. wiping and starting again) my contacts list, as although it's working I think something may be a little wrong with it as it seems bigger than it needs to be. My current plan is to remove the facebook account, which I guess will take all the facebook contact stuff, then delete all my contacts through people. I'll then re-add my facebook account then restore a .vcf file I've got of my contacts. Does this approach sound sensible to people? Anyone else done this with their contacts & if so did you go about it a different way?
