With the HTC Desire, is there any way of setting up a bluetooth connection to connect automatically, eg hands free kit in a car or do you have to manually connect each time?

I have ford sync and it worked flawlessly with my iphone.The captivate will pair and download address book just fine.I authorized it to allow access however it will not automatically connect when in range.I read someplace this feature is fixed in froyo my question is can you get froyo early or do we have to wait for samsung to push it out?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI ALWAYS have my carrier 3g network and blu-tooth turned off at all times using the power control widget that came with my HTC Desire. but when i turn on my phone, my carrier network and blu-tooth are turnred on, and my mail and some other things get refreshed, using up data.
Is there a good widget or app that permanently stops the network and blu-tooth from turning on unless i do it manually? i cant find one on the market! i only set my refreshes of my mail to just once a day, and is there a way to set these refreshes to none a day, just manually?
I have a factory unlocked HTC Desire with the official 2.2 froyo firmware installed. When I turn on the wifi using the inbuilt HTC wifi widget, it takes about 10-15 seconds before the phone connects to my wifi router and the wifi icon is shown in the notification bar. I am using a Dlink dir-655 router. The settings that I have on the router are as follows:-
wireless mode: 802.11g only
encryption: wpa2 personal AES
mac filtering on (phone's mac address has been added to the list)
SSID is hidden
Other devices such as my laptop and nintendo wii connect to the wifi router within seconds.
I've uncovered what could be a serious problem with the Desire. It's only affected me in one way so far, but who knows what other problems there are that I haven't found. I've noticed on several occasions that when listening to music via Bluetooth, my headphones disconnect for no apparent reason. However I've found a pattern now: if WiFi is turned on and I come within range of a /remembered/ hotspot, the WiFi connects and BOOM, disconnected from audio. I can reconnect straight away. There is another poster here (sorry, can't remember your name or the thread you posted in) describing another problem with WiFi and Bluetooth working - or conflicting! - together so I don't think I'm the only person suffering. Who else can reproduce it and how could I submit a bug report to HTC?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have been having an annoying problem whereby my phone takes somewhere between 2 and 10 or so minutes to connect to my car's hands free kit. The handsfree is a factory fit bluetooth unit in an Audi. I've had the car over 2 years and with my previous phones (SE W810i, K750i and C905) the connection was always made within 15 seconds of turning the ignition on. With the Desire it takes so long sometimes that I can have reached my destination before it connects!

But it's not working on HTC desire while connecting to paired bluetooth device. I have checked the logs then i found the SIM access uuid (0000112D-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB) which i pass get changed according to BT sniffer log which is as folloows 0x2d, 0x11, 0x11, 0x2d, 0x00, 0x00, 0x10, 0x00, 0x80, 0x00, 0x00, 0x80, 0x5f, 0x9b, 0x34, 0xfb so how can i resolved this problem. Is it a firmware issue of HTC desire? Can i upgrade the firmware with latest firmware version?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't seem to be able to get my Desire to connect to my head unit even though both units are paired.It seems to connect momentarily during the scan for the dvice then i get the "bluetooth headset disconnected" message on the phone?Head unit is a Kenwood BT50U (which supposts A2DP & AVRCP supposedly) and the device & headunit have both had the 0000 default code entered into them when pairing. All the phone shows is the device in the list with "paired but not connected" under it.Wifi is off,phone is discoverable. Is it the bluetooth on the phone at fault or the headunit?Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
I have a problem with my android tablett, with sim card slot.In the mobile network settin, we can find this :
GSM/WCDMA (auto connect) - automatically switches between 2G/3G modes. When signal strength is low, 3G is favored more
GSM only - 2G only mode. When 2G signal strength is low, you get no data.
WCDMA only - 3G only mode. When 3G signal strength is low, you get no data.
But in my case, i can't switch to " GSM/WCDMA " or " WCDMA only ", it still changing in gsm only, when i change to " GSM/WCDMA " or " WCDMA only ", the setting goes automaticly in " GSM only ".
Is there a way? God, it's so annoying to have to manually connect over and over again in my own home. Sure, it only takes a few seconds, but still...

I have an android device: it's a stick connected to my TV, running android 4.1 rooted. The stick is an MK808B. The stick is connected to my TV's USB so that when I turn the TV on, the stick boots and when I turn the TV off, it shuts down completely.
I am looking for something that automatically connect the stick to VPN when I boot it. I would preferably use VPN over L2DP, although I'll take PPTP if there's no other option. I can't use openVPN because my ROM's kernel doesn't have TUN. There are two ways to approach this: one way is to connect it on boot, another way is to connect to VPN when the stick connects to a wireless network because my stick is stationary and always connects to the same wi-fi network.
Attempting to setup my work email on my Evo.The incoming settings are correct and it connects no problem. However I am having some problems with the outbound settings.We do no require login for the outgoing server. So I removed the check mark but then the next button is grayed out.I am receiving email but am currently unable to send any messages.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

My app killer will kill them when I manually hit the kill bottom or when the phone is locked.But there is no settings that stop them from starting and running after I start my data or WiFi connection.
Principally to save battery charge, i need to find an application or a method that automatically shut down data connection when i lock the screen and resume it when i unlock the screen.
I've tried many of the most popular software that do this, but, with dual sim phone, they are able to shut down data connection but not to startup.

For example, if I am using last.FM and I turn on my wi-fi, I get an error that the app can no longer connect to the last.FM servers. If I turn off wi-fi, it starts working immediately. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get in my car my phone pairs with my Parrot so I can make and receive calls without using my phone. My HTC Magic pairs with the device fine (it does take 5 mins or so to sync fully) and I am able to see my contact list and make calls from it without any problems. It puts the audio and the microphone through the Parrot system and its fine. The problem occurs when I receive a call unfortunately. The Parrot system realizes I have an incoming call and cuts out my radio / cd in the car and rings as it should do.
Unfortunately my phone also rings and when I accept the call (on either the phone or the parrot) it doesn't automatically put the call through the parrot. I have to use the phone and manually set the call to go through the bluetooth, which as you can appreciate is a bit fiddly whilst trying to drive. I've had a look round for an app that sorts this, and checked the bluetooth settings on the phone but I've not been able to find anything as of yet that will solve the problem.

I am trying to to use WiFi API to set priorities to created profiles. I am using the priority field of WifiConfiguration to set this information. I have found out that no matter what priority I set, Android always tries to re-connect to the latest access point that it was connected to. Here is what I do: 1) I create a profile A with a very low priority (0) 2) I create a profile B with high priority (100) 3) I connect to profile A 4) I turn Wi-Fi off 5) I turn Wi-Fi back on 6) In the scan Android sees both A & B 7) Android connects to A, even though its priority is much lower. Does anyone has a work around for this?
