View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst i want to say im running the Redemptive rEVOlution rom and i dont know if this will work on roms with the incredible framework, i think it might.I installed a zip from Calkulin over on the xda evo forum for a compression fix for mms. If the pic is not over the size limit, it wont be compressed anymore. I have just sent about ten pics in a row ranging from 550kb up to 1.1mb and they all went through without compressing! I take no credit for the mod. All credit goes to calkulin over at xda.I found it very annoying that every pic would get compressed. Glad to find a fix for that. BIG. THANKS TO CALKULIN FOR THIS.Now when it does compress a message thats over the size limit, its still" over" compressing it. My limit is 1.2m and if the file is 1.3, it compress' to 44kb...What the hell? Just have to find out how to fix the over compression issue and im happier then a pig in shit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create an album which is password protected? To which photos go automatically instead of to the 'all photos bit'?I'm sure that's impossible.. you'd have to have some setting in the camera that selected which folder it went into.but is it possible to have a password protected folder in the photo gallery to which you can easily move (how?) pictures from the normal camera folder?I'm sure you can think of uses for such a feature - in my case it's for photos to measure my fitness/muscleness (I ignore scales) - and I have friends who happily browse my phone (I don't mind except for this - I have to remember to upload the pictures then delete them). (They all know the swipe password thing, because it's pretty easy to accidentally watch/memorise.)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've made a folder called Photos in the root of the SD card. So now when I go into Photos I see a folder called ' Camera Shots' and all the folders in the 'Photo' folders. But I also see other folders on the card. For example my MP3 folders have album art in them - which also shows in Photos. How do I exclude Photos from showing certain folders?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to reduce the photo compression the evo applies when sending a picturemail/mms?I use it rarely, but I had to send a photo someone and my evo auto-compressed it to like 18kb - which is a bit excessive since it destroyed the relevant details in the photo. I ended up just emailing the thing but was wondering if there was something I missed here.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best compression level for APK??
and what are the advantages and disadvantages of it?
1. I connect my phone to my PC and copy mp3 files to the phone's sd card. But then immediately when it's done it's all gone again! The files just don't stay there.
2. Taking photos, lots of them age getting corrupted.
Could this be a quality issue with the SD card?? Admittedly i got 32gb for only $50. Could it be as simple as that ?
Does anyone know a really good photo gallery for a non rooted Desire, I've searched but just can't seem to find anything decent?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI ask the above because I have put a couple of photo albums on my Desire and noticed that the first photo is the "oldest" photo. However, I have just renamed an album of 100 pictures into a specific numerical order and my Desire places them back into the order of "date picture taken" Does anyone know of a way I can get the pictures to be in the order of file name?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got an HTC desire and I am on my 6th day of playing with it. At first I thought it was a big step up from my previous phone (that had real buttons...and lots of them) however after I started copying my music to the tiny 4Gb SD card I realised that my photos app was showing all the album art work. This was actually quite annoying and it has taken me some hours to find a solution. If anyone is having the same problem they will realise how annoying this is, so I have documented below how to solve it.The problem seems to come from two sources:
1. The Desire (and I guess other android devices) scan the entire SD card for media. Sure enough the scan would return some jpg images located in my MP3 folder (the album art work). Android seems to be limited here and you cannot create an exclsuion folder that doesnt effect both the music app and the photo app (so, this rules out the .nomedia folder)
2. Tagging the MP3's correctly using ID3 tags should appearntly solve this problem. Although you have to be careful here as I have found that not all media players tag the MP3's in the same way. Windows Media player and Tag Runner both tag the MP3 so it appears correct (no separate jpg image is created) however, they still appear in the photo's app.
The only application I have found that works is mediamonkey. Tagging all my MP3's using media monkey stops the album art work appearing in the photo's app which has made my trowling through for my pictures much more graceful.
I just bought this phone. I was playing with the contacts and was wondering: can one select the facebook photo you want for each contact?
I have linked the facebook profile to my contact. I can choose "facebook" for the contact's photo, but I have no control over which photo is displayed.
Can I:
a) select a specific facebook foto?
b) save a specific facebook foto from the contact's facebook pictures and set the saved photo as the contact's picture?
Just a small problem I have with my files when trying to use the camera, apologies if this has been dealt with already but don't fancy trawling the forums whilst on my mobile When trying to use the camera I get the message "unable to save file to SD card due to insufficient file permissions"
I am also unable to view a lot of my photos on the SD card through the gallery where as previously I didn't have any such problem. I am rooted and have bog standard 2.2 with sense UI
I've attached camera pics, downloads and upload to the SD card. The problem is that when these contacts call/I call them the quality is sometimes awful. Others look perfect. Any idea why?

View 17 Replies View RelatedAfter doing a search around, found nothing on this issue. Love my phone! Its great. The problem I have is possibly a little ahead of its time, but here goes. The resolution of the OLED screen is so good, that whereas historically on smartphones, the automatic image 'de-resolution' by my GSM 3G carrier (in this case T-Mobile) in their efforts to speed up the downloads would not be so noticeable on the phone screen, I can't help but see the opposite is true now.For example, on the BBC News website, as you zoom in to look at an image, you cannot see the detail as T-Mobile is compressing the image too far. But I know the Nexus 1 can handle much better that what is being sent through. The question is simply, is there a work around (historically, through dongles and through a PC, no problem) to allow me to either selectively get the full resolution image, or alternatively, is there a browser that allows me to select images individually for full download so I get the full detail that I want?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm back to using LauncherPro, but again I have the problem where the stock widgets aren't compatible, ot HTC doesnt want you to use them with anything other than Sense.
I ADORE the stock full screen Photo Widget. Where the photos look like they're overlapping, and you can swipe through them to view the images.
Does anyone know if someone has recreated this style of Gallery Widget for none sense UI?
Where is the photo widget that lets you scroll through the pictures instantly in the widget?

I do not have this person's number in my contact list, so I dont know how they have become linked. I clicked on "View Message Details" and the sms is coming from "from_Orange".
Anyone having the same problem or know how to fix this?
Apparently you can't have a file in "assets" larger than 1MB (except for certain file types) because it's considered too large to uncompress. But I'm finding mixed info about how to circumvent this limitation. Some say that you can put the files in "raw" and avoid the limitation but others say that files in "raw" are compressed too.And there's the -0 aapt option that can be used to turn off compression for certain file types, but there's no way to specify aapt options in Carbide. I realize that I can break the file into pieces, but that's error- prone on both ends. And using one of the known uncompressed file types not only confuses things but also runs the risk that the Android PTB will decide to start compressing that file type.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to download an image from the 'net and set it as the users background. This works great over wi-fi, and some 3G networks, but others (T-Mobile UK, for sure) seem to compress the images before sending them. This effect is noticeable when using the browser, too - however, if you long press on an image and save it, when viewing in the gallery it is either not compressed at all, or substantially less so. I want to be able to do this in my own app.I assume it has something to do with the HTTP headers, but of the ones I've modified, none has made a difference.
