HTC Desire : CallTrack - Get It To Work?
Jun 29, 2010Is anyone using this on a Desire - it's supposed to log your phone calls to your Google calendar - though I can't get it to work.

HTC Desire :: Data Doesn't Work On 3g / Calls Don't Work On HSDPA
Jun 14, 2010I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?

Oct 7, 2010Why my GPS does not seem to work am sure I did not need a WiFi connection a small sat symbol used to appear and it picked up the satellites then was able to view my location on Google maps now it does not seem to work am I missing something have the latest software 2.2 etc.

Aug 3, 2010I'm in Australia on the Optus network (I'm not sure that matters, but I'll mention it anyway) and I just can't seem to get MMS to work.
I've trawled the web, found heaps of posts for the settings, tried them all, any time I try to send or receive an MMS, I get a "general network failure". All other things work perfectly.
HTC Desire :: Charger Kit Will Work?
May 25, 2010Just found my tomtom mains / usb charger that I bought in NZ.. Comes with US, UK, AUS/NZ & Euro plugs and cost me ?15.00. Spec is: output 5v - 1.0A I presume this should work as it's the same out out as the HTC. You would need a USB / Micro SB cable. Would this work OK on the Desire? I hate to damage my new 'toy'

Oct 7, 2010Recently got htc desire great phone so far but i cant get email to work. i am with virgin media tried to set up but kept getting cant connect to server error, Then read somewhere about maildriod and worked on that. Downloaded it set up manual it created account but when i went to inbox nothing there ?
It may just be that its virgin media but peeing me off as they the only email i got and cant access them because of there security probs.
HTC Desire HD :: Browser Doesn't Work On 3G
Oct 30, 2010Connected to 3G, everything else works fine (Twitter, Facebook, IM services). I have full signal bars, but every site I try to browse gives me a "Gateway Timed Out" Error (504). Browsing works fine on WiFi, but it just doesn't work on 3G and I can't figure out why. Anyone experiencing the same problem/got a solution?

Aug 24, 2010downloaded htc sync accepted my serial attached desire to pc - and selected htc sync launched pc programme.i clicked sync and it doesn't seem to have done anything at all i wanna back up all my contacts, music, photos etc but it doesn't seem to have worked also.i thought the desire sent your contacts to gmail to keep them backed up remotely doesn't seem to work either new user so go steady.

Jul 10, 2010Since a couple of days the internet on my Desire doesn't work anymore. (WIFI does) the weird thing is: When i have my phone in my pocket or on the table and my screen is off, it recieves gprs. But when i turn my screen on the gprs turns into 3g, then in HSPA and then it disappears. This takes about 5 seconds or less..
When i put my simcard in my old iphone 3g the internet works fine, so that means its my phone to blame and not the network
HTC Desire :: Update Today Does Not Work?
Sep 2, 2010This morning I got a question to upgrade the operating system on my phone so I said YES. It went through the whole process and when it finally booted up it does not work. It now keeps booting up. I did a master reset and cleared the data but now it just keeps booting by itself and so the new operating system must be at fault. Any ideas?

HTC Desire :: Recorded Video - Some Don't Work
Aug 9, 2010I'm not on the 2.2 update yet, but some videos I've recorded don't have a thumbnail in the gallery, nor do they play back. I've copied them onto my computer, they have the correct file size but I think something has been corrupted when saving the videos on the phone. Any idea if there is an app that could fix the issue?

Sep 25, 2010I could not charge the handset and it automatically powered down last night. Thereafter I restarted it again without charging it and as expected it powered down after a few minutes.This morning I plugged in the handset for charging and then pressed the power button to put the handset in to 'sleep', to my surprise it did not work. I ignored it and left it for charging and when I checked back the handset had automatically gone to 'sleep'. I tried to wake it up by pressing the power button, but it did not work.The only way I can wake up the handset is either by calling it or plugging in the charger. I tried all of the following but none of them worked.
1. Removed the battery and left the handset for a few minutes and restarted it.
2. Removed the SD card and restarted it.
3. Removed the SIM card and restarted it.
4. Removed both the SD and SIM cards and restarted it.

Oct 5, 2010I got my htc desire about a month ago and it was no bother connecting it to the internet...worked great....then a few days ago i dropped my phone in a puddle top first and it covered 3 quarters of my phone i dried it off best i could and it work straight away then went all funny and the touch screen wouldnt even work ...but now after leaving it for a few days its fine works all the same apart from the wifi whenever i try to connect to it it says turning on then 30 seconds later error! yet if i connect to my mobile network internet it works.

May 7, 2010i have is the desire on wifi does not work properly, i get good signal (router in same room, d-link 615 with 50Mb connection) some sites work bbc.co.uk works like normal but when i brows other sites, facebook, talk.maemo, quidco, ebay.. u get the idea it does not load or takes ages , we are talking mintues 1-3 mins. this applies to apps too, some times it updates and some times it does not. now for the funny thing. when i'm one floor below the router location everything works. Now i have changed channels and security settings with no joy, all other device on the same router work fine, nokia n80, n900, ps3, netbook and main PC wired.
its bugging me, dunno if i should take the handset for replacement. On 3G it works fine, actually works GREAT! on voda (got the phone simfree from CPW) Oh router is using Firmware: DD-WRT. does desire have multi notifcation LED or just green and orange?

Am I right in thinking that it is via this that chrome/firefox to phone works, and that you can do backup and restore to and from the cloud? If so, how does one go about that?And in that case, is the cloud better for backing up than lookout? Cause I'm thinking of getting look out now that my wavesecure free trial is over (dont really want to spend $19.99 if lookout is just as good and free?)

Jul 9, 2010I have a Parrot bluetooth kit in my car that is supposed to sync all the contacts and have phone audio through car speakers worked fine with my old g1 so i know its not the car kit.
none of phones contacts sync with the car kit and after it has been connected and paired to phone audio for about 5 minutes it stays paired but unconnected meaning it doesn't work via the car audio and just rings as normal! why it disconnects itself

The led flashlight on my phone does not seem to work at all (neither in camera mode or the new flashlight app in android 2.2).
