I went into battery usage>>partial wake and found that Netcounter and Calendar were using virtually all of the battery between them. I've uninstalled Netcounter. However, I am curious as to why Calendar is using so much battery power? Is there a way I can reduce this?

Does anyone know how to stop this. I didn't use my phone at all today and 70% of the battery was used by the calender, I tried to uninstall it and I couldn't, I hit force stop but it started again. Anyone know how to fix, or disable calender?
View 22 Replies View Relatedjust got the phone a week ago.i'm using Google Calendar exclusively for all my date keeping. it's great to see that the default calendar apps sync with google calendar (GC)now, in GC (the web version) i set up the default reminders for new appointments to be a) email and b) sms.i noticed that, in order to get notifications on my PHONE as well, i need to add c) pop up to it. tested and that seems to work fine. will that pop up show anywhere else as well though? i never used that notification option before.and i noticed the following two annoying things:
1) default appointment notifications not set when appointment made using phone calendar application
when i make a new appointment from my PHONE, it shows up on the web version after a sync, that's all very cool. BUT then the appointment does not get assigned the default notification options (email and SMS), it only has pop up. any way to work around that? can't seem to find options for that.
2) when appointment made via application, web version of the appointment shows me as a GUEST who has confirmed that's a bit rubbish?! i.e. the experience is totally different from the appointments i set using the web version of GC.
Can't seem to edit any entries in the HTC Calendar on my Desire.

Will this spoil the battery or phone? (If I charge when the battery have not been all used up).I heard from people that it might spoil the phone if I charge in this manner frequently.

I have a couple questions that I am hoping you can help me with. I have searched some and have not found much(but my search skills suck).
I was wondering how I can find what is sucking my battery�s will to live? It lasts a day and that is it�I do not do music or TV. And my battery gets warm! When it is idled it just sits there and gets pretty warm.
Also, I have been able to get my micro exchange email from work to sync no issues, but my calendar will not. It worked for the first couple hours, but would consistently update�I was getting reminders for a meeting I was already in every 10 minutes. so i turned off the reminder...Now it will not sync. I have it set to sync all calendars, but it will not go past Wednesday the 16th.
1. When my EVO gets low on battery, it has this super annoying led notification light that flashes orange every other second Anyway to make it go away?
2. I want to be able to create a new appointment on my calendar without there being a notification alarm (the little bell icon) But there is no option for "no notification" .....???? There has to be a way to take this off?
I just download Spare Parts and looked at my battery history and "Calendar" is using more battery than the Android System itself. Is there any fix for this?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange problem with a new appointment I've just entered in my Desire.Problem shows itself as follows:
1 Go to Doctor, get new appointment for 8:30am next Feb 14th.
2 Enter appointment into Desire under PC Sync calendar. Shows up OK in calendar.
3 Go Home. Sync with Outlook (2003 SP3) on home PC (XP Pro SP3)
4 Outlook shows appointment as 9:30am on Feb 14th.
5 Correct in Outlook back to 8:30 and re-sync.
6 Desire now shows appointment for 7:30am.
7 Repeat...
Off the top of my head, I'd say that there's a Daylight Saving / Summer Time issue here, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to go about fixing it.I live in Qld, Australia. Qld does not have Daylight Saving during Summer, but other Eastern Australian States do. I've only had the Desire for about 2 weeks, but no other dates have been increased/decreased by an hour when I've synced them. Google doesn't seem to be my friend (at least with the key words I've used).
Does having sync on for calender drain a lot of battery android ?

I'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

Is there an app out there that has all the functions of one of these, reoccurring events, Colored event bars etc, BUT does not link to either the stock or Google, or any other type. I'm not happy with the way this linking system works, but I DO need a calendar with event tabs for my work rota, holidays, pay days etc.

Also, if I drive a car I cannot start fumbling around with the phone and the phone alerts me all the way.
I cannot turn off the alert sound, since I use it at work. And I cannot choose silent at profiles as I need to hear if the phone is ringing.
Is there a way to get a calendar reminder only once?
When I make a 'phone only' appointment, and set a reminder, the reminder goes off, and so does the actual appointment. Fine.
However, when I make a 'phone only' appointment, with NO reminder, I'm not alerted to the actual appointment that I made. Absolutely nothing.
Is this 'by design', which I very much doubt, or a possible flaw in the application itself?
I have two Google premier apps accounts, one business and one personal My question is simple, can I view the two calendars on my HTC desire?I notice when configuring the phone, that the second account I add has no option to sync the calendar?? I wanted to check with you, the experts, if there was a way of making it see business and personal? As mentioned elsewhere on this forum, it seems like a huge oversight.

Kind of annoying having the little arrow to say there's an event on practically every single day on the HTC Calendar widget. This wasn't the case before the other day so I'm assuming it's a 2.2 thing, not sure though.
As far as I can tell there's no way to hide them either, and it was done automatically. Just because I have a person on my FB doesn't mean I care so much when their birthday is. It dilutes my calendar and means I can't tell when my actual important things are happening
And don't say "use another calendar app", I'm otherwise happy with this, it's simple and does what I need of it
In the homescreen thread I've seen quite a few people with, for example, the world cup matches in their calendars or F1 races.Have people manully input these or is there a way to download them straight into the calendar? I'm thinking my team's games for the season, F1 races, the Ashes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHTC O2 Desire with 2.2 upgrade.All seems to be ok except for a Calendar problem.I tried to use HTC Synch, want to move apps to sd card, and managed to add extra anniversaries to my calendars i.e Outlook, Google and Desire.Outlook and Google had duplicate anniversaries and Desire has triplicate.Before I reconnect my Desire to my pc via HTC sync I need to resolve the triplication problem i.e. get my Desire to sync with Google calendar via my gmail acccount.I edited the online Google calendar and left that to synch with desktop Outlook via its normal sych routine. Outlook did ask one question; should it delete 169 items. I answered yes and Outlook updated. During this time I switched off synch on my Desire.I then tried to sych Desire to Google via my home wifi but without success. It seems that Desire synch will not stay up. The synch symbol shows for a few seconds then goes either using manual or autosynch; wifi is there all the time and I have a connection to my ISP i.e I can surf all I want using the wifi router connected to my desktop. Desire wifi signal shown as full strength.
I notice that if I manually synch my Desire the sync symbol against "Sync Calendar" stays on for some 15 seconds (but is not rotating after the symbol disappears from the top of the screen) whereas for Gmail and contacts the symbols quickly go out suggesting that more activity is taking place in calendar? Also the sync symbol at the top of the screen matches for contacts and Gmail but goes out after a few seconds for Calendar i.e does not stay on for 15 seconds.
I have a Macbook with iCal configured to match my Google calendar account. The two sync together with no problem. I tried setting up my HTC Desire to sync with my Google account which should give me three way sync but I get the following problem: I open Calendar on my phone, I try to add an event, a message appears saying: YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS. On the settings side, if I hit MENU then MORE and I choose CALENDARS I can't see my Google account. If I hit SETTINGS there is nothing to add my Google account. If I go to the ACCOUNTS & SYNC settings, I see my Google account, but when I hit my account, the data synchronization theme only shows SYNC CONTACTS and SYNC GMAIL, there is no SYNC GOOLGLE CALENDAR. I had Syncmate installed on my macbook and had it configured on my Desire, but it didn't sync the calendar either so I deleted it from my accounts. Could this be causing my problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

When I go to settings/Accounts & Sync on my Desire, and sync, it seems to sync from the Desire to my googlemail page on my PC, but not the other way round - which is a problem for me because all the correct contacts are on my PC. It also tends to duplicate or even triplicate most of contacts. On the PC there is the merge setting, but not on the Desire. I've tried deleting all my contacts on the Desire, but syncing doesn't repopulate it.
I have all my appointments on my Desire calendar, which seems to only sync from my PC to the Desire. As I enter my appointments on the Desire, and would like to have them on my PC, this, too, is a problem.
Been trying to sync my calendar but the message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" shows up. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me
