General :: Mod Battery Icons In KitKat?
Nov 19, 2013
Just wondering if there's even any who had already managed to mod the battery icons in stock KitKat ROMs? The battery icon images are not there anymore in SystemUI and the stat_sys_battery/battery_charge xmls aren't there either.

Where are they? I checked the framework-res and SystemUI of an AOSP rom, and they're just not there.

I would do this: [URL] .... (created with paint)
Because I get to edit files, but I am looking for a long time without finding how to put ALL the icons on the left, and keep only the icons on the right as in the picture.

I have been loosing icons on my home screen whenever I update an app that will also update the icon image. Most of them are non -google apps. If it is a google app, and the icon changes, then the old icon is updated without problem.

I've tried everything I can think of. I'm trying to build an xposed mod to replace the battery charging icons on my s4 (custom stock rooted touchwiz rom).
So far I was able to get @rovo89 Red Clock tutorial to work, and i've even decompiled a few xposed battery tweak mods but i can't seem to replace the charging icons on my s4.
Here is my latest attempt
Code:
package com.elproduc3r.android.xposed.mods.redclock;
import com.elproduc3r.android.xposed.modules.redclock.R;
import android.content.res.XModuleResources;
import android.content.res.XResources;
import android.graphics.Color;
[Code] ....

I have KK 4.4.2 on Sprint Samsung S4. Since the recent update I have been getting annoying regular notifications that I have an alarm set for later in the day. After I dismiss them they just come back over and over again. This causes an alarm icon to appear in the notification area in the status bar. No big deal. Useless icons are normal. However, this is in addition to my normal alarm clock icon, next to the network status icon, that shows up telling me that there is an alarm set.
So, evidently there is supposed to be a settings area on the main alarm screen, that allows me to tell it not show an icon next to the network icon in the status bar. Problem is I have no such setting anywhere.
how to either get rid of the icon next to the time, or completely shut off the notification icon?

I know we can use widgets or change the status bar one with UOT, but it seems ludicrous to imagine such a simple feature hasn't become standard. Is there some patent troll that is keeping devices from having the battery percentage in the system bar?

how to change the icon of its battery, WiFi and signal bar. I was able to successfully root the phone..I wanted the phone to look original by changing those icons. Even if i try to apply different themes those icons wont change. And another problem is Phone Coverage Signal weak or lost, another phone can receive 50% or full coverage signal.

My Nexus 5 crapped out on me today. I was using it when it suddenly restarted and began an infinite loop of load screen, saying its updating, than stating "Unfortunatly the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
I attempted a wipe/system reset several times but it shows the same "failed to mount" error each time.
Can I flash it via my pc?

I'm having this issue on my Moto G. Sometimes my battery is full or almost (like 95%) and then when I plug my phone via USB to the computer and turn on USB tethering, it appears on the screen a message alerting low battery and it shuts down. Then when the phone is up again, it shows 1% in the battery menu and starts charging again.

Now, when it comes to the official Android Facebook application I've been using it on my Nexus 5 and my previous Galaxy S2. I use to always try and remember to place it in the background to minimise battery drain (I know this isn't perfect, but it did make a difference battery wise, because if I leave it in the foreground, the battery would drain).
Recently I've been running a number of tests and I have identified whenever I receive a Facebook notification, battery drain dramatically increases (e.g. over 10% in an hour with no use (sitting idle (black screen) and locked). If I don't get Facebook notifications, then the battery life is solid and last for ages.
So I tried: Disabling all Facebook notifications. I've then tested a number of times... I get a friend to send me a Facebook private message (they then SMS me to let me know when they send the Facebook message). My phone does NOT generate a Facebook notification message, BUT I notice the dramatic battery drain kicks in as described above (phone gets very warm as well) when they send the Facebook notification.
* I then tried ending the Facebook task. This does nothing. The dramatic battery drain pattern continues.
* If I turn the phone on and off, it stops the battery drain.
* I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook. No difference, problem still occurs.
* I'm using the latest Facebook application as at 30/01/14.
I know the advice is to uninstall Facebook, but I know I could also install Greenify, but I don't want to root my phone (yet) (and the non-rooted feature is something you need to remember to do - knowing me I will forget to force stop)).
There was something similar on Facebook Messenger (which I don't have installed) (I just found a battery-draining bug in the Facebook Messenger standalone app, and how to report it at Facebook who can fix it. : Android)

I am on Three UK, and I manually searched for an update for my Galaxy Note 3 today, while on my wireless network. My phone showed that a KitKat 4.4.2 update was available which was approx. 391 MB in size. Downloaded and installed it.
The install worked fine, but after the install, my phone seems to be draining the battery at 1% every minute. I have turned off GPS, wireless, mobile data etc. but to no avail.I don't even have Skype installed on my phone (as Google asked some users to uninstall Skype)

Since few weeks my battery life get drained by my screen. My screen brightness is on his lowest and still draining like 20-30% battery life each hour. Sometimes my screen even drain in stand-by mode... Every other draining apps/things are off.
And then we have random reboots... My nexus 4 just reboot without any reason. Sometimes its reboot in stand-by mode and sometimes when I use my phone. But both without any reason to reboot...?

I have a G1, love it, but it has a wimpy battery as many of us know. I have been wondering if widgets, desktop icons and even the choice of wallpaper, or picture that is used for the desktop background make any real difference in battery life. No matter how I use the phone, the display is always the main or at least major component of battery usage.
I read on an android website that desktop widgets do tax the battery and it was also suggested that having all three desktops full of icons also does so. Lastly, I was thinking that a black desktop ( I took a picture of a piece of black paper ) would use the least battery because the screen is not producing any light. Any input on these things ? If it would give appreciably better battery life, I would black out the desktops as I have done and not have any icons or widgets.

I notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.

I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

I've noticed that Google maps is always taking up a big portion of the battery in the battery menu. If I freeze it with titanium would that make a significant difference? I use it seldom enough to go thru the trouble of unfreezing it when needed if it's worth it..

So i have a Rooted LG G2 Kitkat 4.4.2, in which i installed BetterBatteryStats. It tells me that to use the best features, it needs to be installed as a System App, and shows me a window with the option to move it to System, but when i click the Button, it fails to do so. (See attachments).
It says:
"Selected 'from'or 'to' reference could not be loaded please refresh"
"Failed"
I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing data, etc... No luck.
