View 3 Replies View Relatedmy phone is Samsung Galaxy Mini which is a ldpi device which now runs on an ICS rom. I am trying to change the color for the brightness sliders and volume sliders. Which .xml need to be edited to change the colour..
I decompiled framework-res.apk and changed hex color values under @id/ progress and @id/secondary progress in "progress_horizontal.xml", also changed colors of few pngs in drawable-mdpi in framework, now the progress seek bar has changed the color, but brightness slider color remains the same.
I then decompiled systemui.apk and changed the hex color values under @id/progress in "adi_seekbar.xml",but nothing got changed..
Which .xml is associated with the seek bar for brightness and volume slider? Or should i deal with smali files to change the color of brighntness slider and volume slider..
is there any way to further decrease brightness levels other than the manual bar slider or auto brightness? I want the screen to go about half of its lowest setting. I use the phone a lot in near total darkness and its to friggin bright!

It doesn't matter if I set to 30% or 100%, the brightness stays the same.I can only adjust the brightness from 0 to 25%. I already did and wipe and stiched a phone.

I was trying to expand my system partition size.
I flashed a zip via CWM on my phone, and must have made a mistake.
After i flash, my partition table seems to be messed up.
My "boot" partition is fine. All other partition seems to be "invalid" now.
I am able to enter fastboot, and "fastboot boot recovery.img" to enter recovery
I am not able to boot, or enter recovery mode directly.
I tried to "erase" via fastboot, but the partition is invalid.

Is there any way to "fix" my partitions?
I have downloaded a CM11.zip for my phone.
I have downloaded a stock rom for my phone.
I have access to these files, which are supposed to be system partition tables. found here:

I am using Eclipse Helios Service Release 2 and the project target is 2.2.
I have a xml layout that has a HorizontalScrollView and ScrollView with a LinearLayout. For some reason unknown to me the graphical layout will not expand when I add objects that exceed the size of the default screen size.
I have other xml layout files that will expand when using a single scrollview type, however when using two of them nested together it does not work.
I have attempted to use ScrollView then HorizontalScrollView and reversed to see if it is a order of priority issue with Eclipse. However this does not work.
There appears to be nothing missing from the properties of the scrollviews between those that will expand and the one that wont.
Is there something I am missing? Or is it not possible to have two different scrollview types in one layout and still have a auto expanding graphical layout editor? I would rather not define a specific screen resolution that would allow me to see all objects; I want the app to be adaptable to any device screen size.

In Cyanogen Mod settings under lockscreen, my brother disabled the slide to unlock feature, so when I try to unlock the phone I see the lockscreen, but there is no type of slider at all on the lockscreen. Is there anyway to bypass the lockscreen without having to do a factory reset/data wipe?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI currently run a Epic 4g on sprint.I am switching to a Sidekick 4g on tmobile. On both of these devices iv always wanted an app to run a service in the background that would turn the screen off on the closing of the slider. So that to unlock the phone I press the slider open, then when I close the slider the phone turns the screen off and locks.
How to write the app? It needs no UI, no anything. When slider goes from open to close, screen off. By slider i mean the slide out keyboard.
I am searching for a MIUI lockscreen that looks like the sense 2.1 one (the slider). However i am unable to find one. The only ones i find are sense 3.+ ones.
It has to be has to look like the real one and with music controls.
I have an asus slider, but it cannot use app2sd, when i click the on sd card tab, it says "The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the external storage is emulated. Currently my Tablet behave strangely where when I switched it ON, it did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
I did a backup user data. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal. But when I slide the unlock slider, the Tablet switch off.
Then I try another approach. Try entering recovery, wipe data/reset factory. Connect the USB cable to computer. Reboot the Tablet, it also did run as per normal with no unlock slider where it did show a USB enable menu. Press back and it did run as normal. Then I disable the "slide the unlock slider" in setting. Everything work as per normal. Try restart and no problem.
Then I restore previous user data, unfortunately I cannot disable the unlock slider. Try Connect the USB cable to computer, the slider still there.
I'm looking for a way of disabling the unlock slider via ADB command.
Another way I can think of is sideload "Screen lock suppressor" apk into system.[URL]...
Now I forget how to push the apk into system. Or, any other apk to disable the unlock slider.
I have an Asus Slider Sl101. Around 3 days ago, our router had been changes as the previous one wasn't working properly. Our carrier is Charter and our router is Netgear. We hooked every device up to that new router and everything worked fine, including the tablet. But later on in the day,the Internet on there stopped working.
It shows that it's connected, but when I try to access the internet through the browser, it does not work. The blue line at the top of the browser starts up, moves forward a little, and stops entirely while the browser then says "Webpage Not Available". Apps that require Internet, such as Accuweather and my SAT apps, fail to work as well. Other devices that use our wifi include another computer and Nintendo DSi and 3DS. They all work fine. Our router shows that our android is connected to it, as well.
I've tried the static IP stuff, restarted the router, left the wifi off on the tablet for a few hours, and turned it off and off. I even factory resetted it and not even that worked.
I have a Versus tablet running 4,0 and have accidentally set the screen brightness to 0. I can't see the screen to reset the brightness back up again. The manual says to do a factory rest but needs you to see the screen to do this. Have tried resetting and Android recovery but no effect.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently building a custom ROM based on android 4.1.2 and I am having two questions:
1. In Settings -> Display -> Brightness there is no checkbox for automatic screen brightness. Can this feature be added (the check box to turn on/off the automatic brightness)?
2. When I activate the automatic screen brightness (using notification bar toggle) and the battery drains under 15% the brightness is setted to maximum and the Brightness page in settings can't be used, is there a way to fix this?
disable brightness control on statusbar ? i have SystemUI file but i don't know how to remove that contol !

Any app that will automatically change the screen brightness based on a defined battery level. Preferably with the option to define how much the screen is dimmed as well.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have switched from Android 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 (ICSSGS RC 4.2) on my Samsung Galaxy S.
All I need works fine but there is one thing I wonder. The automatic regulation of the display brightness is very dark compared to the old 2.3.6.
Now I wonder ist this an Android 4.0.3 or ICSSGS feature? Is there a way to increase the offset for this feature a little bit. Sure I can turn it off and use manually brighness, but that's not what I want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and the battery drains way too fast. I looked up online how to keep it going more, but even with those tips, it still doesn't work. I went to Battery and checked what is draining the battery so much, and according to my phone, its the brightness. take a look: 94%??! That's insane, and that does not sound normal to me. I tried lowering the brightness, even to the lowest possible, and the percentage does not change at all. Why is the brightness taking up THAT much battery, and how do I fix it so it stops taking up that much?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't had any screen issues in the past, but today my tablet randomly decided to go totally black on me. I looked online and some posts mentioned to check if the screen was actually off, or just stuck at 0% brightness. So I got a flashlight and it turned out that I could see the screen in the light of the flashlight, very faintly. I tried to manually change the brightness setting, but that didn't do anything. I tried to go into 'power saver settings', but the 'screen brightness' power saver setting is stuck on and won't uncheck. Restarting doesn't fix it. Plugging it in to the computer or an outlet doesn't fix it.
I haven't downloaded any applications that override the screen brightness.
I'm using the Galaxy Note 10.1 (not the 2014 version).
I have bought a HDC Galaxy Note 3 N9006 1:1 Quad Core model.
The specs are:
MTK6582 Quad cores 1.3GHz Cortex A9+SGX544 GPU
Ram : 1GB
Rom : 4GB(Support TF Card up to32GB)
First of all, the biggest problem is the battery life.. The phone is on for about 1 up to 2 hours of semi-heavy usage. The screen brightness is set to the lowest one and still the battery life is really low. I dont know whether this is a software fault or the chinese battery is simply crap, so i dont know if there is any point in buying a genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 3 battery.
Secondly, i have an error on some of my apps saying that "Google services that some of your apps rely on, is not supported by your device.. ( screenshot included)" how to fix this problem on this HDC model?
Thirdly for some reason i keep on getting a message about roaming, ( i cant see the message fully, screenshot included) and i have to register my network again for it to disappear for a short period of time and then i have to repeat the same process again.
Lastly, i cannot update my youtube application and i get an error saying that i need to uninstall the previous version of the app. But the problem is that it wont let me delete the previous version.
is there any mod/tweak that increases the phone's screen brightness to the maximum (or a pre-defined level) when playing youtube videos?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to expand the VM limit in Android 2.0 on an actual device? Using java.lang.Runtime.maxMem() on a Droid reveals a limit of 24MB, and I've written some code that incrementally allocates memory until failure to verify that figure. You can set the VM size in the emulator, but I haven't yet found a way to do that for a connected phone. Is there some type of a properties file on the device itself that can be modified?
