View 5 RepliesI am getting the below two errors, can someone help me, why these errors i am getting.
02-11 10:56:12.120: ERROR/dalvikvm(334): pthread_setspecific failed, err=22 02-11 10:56:13.210: ERROR/jdwp(345): Failed sending reply to debugger: Broken pipe
I have an AT&T Atrix 4G and I wanted to imstall CM7.2.
I had the latest Atrix Android version on it. Then I followed the instruction at the cyanogemod wiki for the atrix. So I flashed the sbf (cyanodenmod wiki -> Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide).
The rsd lite flashing didn't succeed because the atrix rebooted and the programm couldn't switch into BP passtrougth, or so. At this point the device said something about 0x1000 no bootloader, but I could choose between rsd, fastboot and the other possibilities.
I booted into the fastboot mode and did an oem unlock. Now it says unlocked.
I booted again into the fastboot mode, and now it should be a simple
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recover.img
But:
Windows) it always says:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (4824 KB)... OKAY [ 0.453s]
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
after that the device reboots and is in a boot loop
so i tried linux) The first time i tried the command everythings worked fine, but after reboot i chose.
Code:
android recovery mode, but after a while (secs) the device rebooted.
so went to fastboot again, but now the device reboots after the sending command and then it says writing failed because of no device
I don't know if when I am using rsd lite to flash a complete image the phone reboots again and i have a hard brick.
I used insecure boot and root trying to root my phone, which was a huge mistake as i noticed a few minutes later since i cant startup anymore and only get into bootloader.
Now I'm trying to flash my stock rom back.
My CID is VODAP102 and my Version is 3.14.161.27 so i downloaded the rom and tried "fastboot flash boot boot.img" the result is:
sending 'boot' <8192 KB>...
FAILED <data transfer failure <Unknown error>>
finished. total time: 0.158s
So after being dumb and installing the 2.1 leak I finally got root! Yay! But now of course my trackball is acting up really badly and I want to unroot to try to get it swapped out at Verizon. I've followed jcase's instructions successfully up to the fastboot command section. I'm getting and error "Failed (remote: not allowed)". Obviously I am in fastboot mode on my phone. Phone's screen shows

I am still able to access Anon's Recovery. Any thoughts?
I just installed the Paranoid Android 3.60 ROM that I downloaded via this link [URL] ..... I am using a Sprint Galaxy Nexus.
The problem I am running into is with the "hybrid properties" in the settings. Everything else with the ROM has worked wonderfully, but I believe the Hybrid is the main reason to run this ROM and I cannot access it. Any time i click the Hybrid Properties in settings, I get "Unfortunately, settings has stopped responding." I have reinstalled and wiped factory and dalvik/ caches.
I know some ways to backup and restore sms and apps. But is there any way to backup things like background, position of widgets, shortcuts on the homescreen etc? Sometimes it is a bit annoying when updating eg. ELK every 5 weeks..

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to flash a kernel using fastboot on os X. Therefore I've decided to add a new post about that on XDA for those who want/need to use fastboot on mac os X. Example given for a Sony Xperia ARC LT15i. This should work for any SE device but will need different vendor ID value for another Brand.
Installation
- Download and extract Android SDK (let's say on the Desktop for the rest of the explanation)
- Add "Android SDK Platform-Tools" with android SDK Manager
- Download fastboot for mac here http:[url]....
- extract it in android-sdk/platform-tools/
Configuration
Next you need to update the PATH for tools/ and platform-tools/ folder.
- Open Terminal app and type
Code:
nano ~/.bash_profile
- Add the following two lines and change the (username) with the name of your mac os X account name :
[code].....
I can't figure out exactly why this fails. The application has android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions. I can create normal files with exactly the same name in the same location, but pipe creation fails. The pipe in question should be accessible from multiple applications. I suspect that noone can create pipes in /sdcard. Where would it be the best location to do so? What mode mast should I set (2nd parameter) Does application need any extra permissions?

I'm trying to log in to an account, and my password contains a pipe symbol "|", which doesn't seem to be on the keyboard or in the list of symbols in alt-sym. I also notice that don't see back quote "` Is there a way to enter these or do I need to start changing my passwords so that they don't contain these?

How I can use adb and fastboot on my computer. i
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the cause of that? From my knowledge they use the same driver? ADB cannot detect device but fastboot can... This occurs in both windows 7 and xp.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the stock keyboard, and don't see the pipe symbol anywhere.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSorry if there are is an answer for this already. Searching for "keyboard" and "tab" is a pretty big waste of time to sift through.
Is there a soft keyboard out that has alt, ctrl, tab, shift, and a pipe?
It would also need multitouch and/or some sticky keys option to be able to utilize them. (like being able to press ctrl+k)
I don't care about swype or any "super awesome" keyboard with gigantic keys. I'll deal with typos if it means I can keep my evo and still get around in shells remotely without having to carry around a bluetooth keyboard (whenever cyanogen or somebody gets BT HID working).
I don't care about auto correction. I don't care about text prediction. I don't care if you can put a Hello Kitty theme on it. I don't even care if you're forced to use a Hello Kitty them to use it. I just want a keyboard that works as a full keyboard.
I have had my GNex since it was released. However, I just got a new computer. I am trying to set up everything again on my new computer. I got the drivers working to a certain extent. I can get adb to work, however fastboot does not work.
How to get fastboot working?
Screenshot showing adb clearly works prior to bootloader, but it stops working after going into bootloader. It seems to lose connection to my phone once it is in the bootloader. I tried this multiple times.
My device only supports adb on recovery but its sideload. How to boot fastboot in recovery? Can't access fastboot without adb command. Volume keys not working.
