Recently chat through the native Facebook app has been disabled, and they're now refering to their 'facebook messenger' app. The only problem with that app is, that I'm not able to disable notifications. It only give me two options --> "An hour" or "Until 8 P.M"...

It now comes installed with Facebook and i don't want another camera icon in my app drawer. I'm using touch wiz so using another launcher is out of the question. I've checked Tibu and it doesn't see it. I'm sure others would find this info useful as well.

Many user are facing a serious issue with Facebook Messenger: it automatically activate the Delivery Report in SMS when using it as the main SMS app. So, what's the matter? Well, the problem is that in some country (as here in Italy) the delivery reports are billed 0,20 € each!! Many users spent near 10€ to realize where the problem is.
So my questions is : is there a way to "mod" the facebook messenger app to disable this terrible delivery reports "functionality"?
While chatting today i was typing the pretty fast. Can't really recall what i did but somehow a keyboard with BIG Emoticons was showing.. and it was facebook's keyboard. Also, seems like the emoticons was loading from the web as they were started to show gradually.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Razr M on CM10.1 - 4.2.2, and Facebook Mesesnger vibrates even during silent mode when I get a message.I would think Silent Mode overwrites any app priorities, but I guess not.
I have a tasker profile to set my phone to silent mode between 10pm and 9am only if the phone is plugged in, so my phone is on silent all night, but if I get a random facebook message, I wake up to the vibration.
I wonder why facebook messenger just stop showing notification, but it is normally receiving the messages.

When I login to facebook app messenger shows me session expired.
When I login into messenger the main app logs me off.
So i cant have both apps logged in at once?
I deleted my fb messenger app from my rooted Xperia Pro from system/data and also removed all other traces of facebook from my complete system. I have the messenger apk with me from backup.
Now i want to again install it so that it runs in the background and shows me always Online on Facebook.
Is there any way i can again achieve that.
I only want fb messenger to run in background. Original facebook app i do not want to run in background as i have removed it too.
I have Android 4.1.2 on my new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I also have the most recent version of Facebook Messenger. I've enabled the chat heads option in the settings, tried the "pop out chat heads" option by holding my finger down on a conversation...and nothing!

A couple of quick questions.. I can't change my custom away message (status), even though it says to tap your screen name at the top of the buddy list. Can you read people's away messages with this phone, if so how? a bit of a learning curve as u can see, and going from a physical QWERTY to a touch screen is difficult. Got some ROMs installed and definitely more apps, but pretty much similar to what i had on my BB...
I am trying to download mp3 files from my file server onto my Droid. Everytime I try to download a song I get the error message Download Unsuccessful. I thought it was a problem with my server but all of my computers can download from it, and I just went and got my mom's Droid ERIS to test. It could successfully download mp3 files from the server. This is ridiculous, why wouldn't my Droid be able to download these files but the ERIS can? Is this a case of Droid DOESN'T?

Recently have received text messages I could not download. doesn't state why just "message size: 30KB" ask if I want to download or reject. When I try to download I get the same message "failed to download" is there a setting to change file sizes allowed or something else I'm missing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Sony Xperia has taken it upon itself, along with facebook to download a lot of photos from facebook "friends"- most of whom are friends of friends of friends(etc). I want to delete them, but cant find out where they are saved. When I try to delete them from my album, it will give me the option of deleting any foto I WANT that I've put on, but not the BLOAT rubbish of people/places/brick walls etc that I dont want. on both my tablet and phone i have facebook and gmail applications. they are basically the same .apks since i have a backup of them on a sd card and if i format one device, i often use restire the apps from the sd card.
and you know how you get an instant notification on your phone if you receive a fb message or an e-mail? that doesn't happen on my tablet. it seems that a couple of minutes after i turn off the display on my tablet, it drops the wifi connection (a power save thing i suppose).
is there any way to ensure a constant wifi connection on my tablet so that i receive email/fb notifications in real time and just not after i turn the display on?

It's often slow and sometimes pops up while I'm already typing my reply. I've gone into the messaging settings and turned off everything that I figured could be related to that. I even turned off Auto-retrieve, but I still get those gray popups. I would really like to have them turned off.
