View 1 RepliesI'd like to know whether it is possible to create a counter for unread WhatsApp messages. UCCW worked for me to create counters for text messages and missed calls but not for WhatsApp. I know there are possibilities but I don't own a credit card so I'm looking for a free alternative.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy handset has recently developed a bug whereby my Gmail icon displays unread messages as normal, but even when I read them on the handset, the icon remains displaying them as unread? I click the icon to enter the gmail client, but it still displays all mail as read?If I then log in online to Gmail on a desktop, the same emails that I had read on my Desire are still unread... It seems the android app isn't telling gmail that the messages have been read?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have nothing in my inbox and the little mail icon refuses to say "0". It has been stuck on "4" for several days. Is there a way to reset the counter? I searched but didn't find any topics on this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI opted to use the native Android (HTC?) imap client for my Gmail account simply because the widget shows me an unread message count. That aside however, the dedicated Google Gmail app is much better (it looks nicer imho and also has the "Archive" button - in the imap client I have to "Move to..."/"[Gmail]/All mail"). And the question: is there an way to have an unread email counter while using the Google gmail app? I would like something that will update as soon as the email is synced to my device, and decrement as soon as I archive an email in the google app.

I do not like the email counter telling me how many unread messages I have. I have notifications turned off so I do not have anything showing up in my notification bar. Is there a way to disable to email counter?

The reason is that i flashed many custom roms on my phone and now I have some dead pixels on my camera and i can't send it back to Sony cause I already destroyed my warranty and I heard if I reset a custom binary download counter i will be able to restore my warranty?
I am developing one dayDream app in that I need to show unread email count of configured gmail account while dreaming. I have searched all over the net but haven't found much.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWife has a Samsung Galaxy Tab with MailDroid version 3.35 (I use a PC, so am not involved when she looks at her email) and she asked how to delete an email before she opens it.
I tried but couldn't figure it out - too many icons whose function is unknown - am sure it's easy, but am baffled.
The Original email app on my galaxy s3 one day decided to become stuck on 1 unread email. Whether i have read all emails or 5 unread emails, the app displays 1 unread email.I have tried 'Clearing cache' and 'Clear data' several times on both the email app and gmail(Gmail just for the sake of it even though it is unrelated)also, deleted all my inbox, junk and trash emails online. However, no matter what i do the icon still displays 1 unread email.
My phone is not rooted and has been and still working perfectly fine apart from this issue.I know that the issue isn't that big of a deal since technically email and everything is working, but that 1 on the email icon really annoys me.I have uploaded a screenshot of what i'm talking about just incase i haven't made myself clear.
Whenever I receive or read an email the HTC email (green) counter doesn't update for some reason. I'm using LauncherPro and running 2.2 Froyo so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
I just upgraded to 2.1 from 1.5.Before my gmail account would open up to my inbox label, no matter how many unread emails I had. Now it automatically opens an email as soon as I click on the icon.Is there a way to set this back like it was in 1.5 and have gmail go straight to the 'inbox' label?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a program that should display the amount of unread sms, mms, phone calls and emails. It was quite easy to find how to query for sms and phone calls (I used the search on this page) but I have not been able to find out how to query for emails. Is there anyway to find out how many unread emails the user got in their phone?
View 3 Replies View Relatedever since I switched from Sense to Launcherpro, the main mail icon (not gmail, the one I use for MS exchange) no longer shows me how many unread messages are there. Was that feature something that Sense did that I've lost w/ LP?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was an app that would cause an android phone to vibrate and/or play an audible notification every 2-5 min until all notifications are cleared form the task bar. I have a client who has moved from a Blackberry to a Droid 2 (thank god I hate those damn Blackberry's) and he used to receive these "reminder notifications" when he didn't open his emails or texts right away. I searched the app store up and down from my Incredible but could not find anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI looked pretty thoroughly and could not find anyone who addressed my particular issue so. I cannot get the unread email count to clear from the stock HTC email app. I have two exchange accounts set up and after I read the mail, whatever the unread count was just prior to my reading it sticks. It stays there until the next time I get email and then the new count stays there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI switched from my Itouch to the Droid X but an having issues with the email icon not displaying the unread email count. I can open Messaging and see the Corp Icon and it shows the number of unread emails. Can I add an Icon for my Corporate Sync account to the desktop so that I know that I have unread emails?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have synced my desire with yahoo mail. The phone doesnt duplicate deletions from yahoo to phone or phone to yahoo so have to delete everything twice (Windows mobile does it.)Also when the phone goes and gets the mail from yahoo it marks them as read on the internet and unread on the phone. WM synched the read status - did not mark the yahoo mail as read when downloaded and the read status was synced from the phone to yahoo or yahoo to the phone depending on which was read first.Presume i need to download someone's app.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have set up the Email app on the phone to connect to my Yahoo! Mail account. However, the Email app always regards incoming messages as unread even if they have already been marked as read on the Yahoo! Mail account itself. This makes the unread messages count in the Email app inaccurate and unhelpful.
The Email app does not appear to possess a facility to mark several messages as read, the only way to bring the unread count down is to open each message in turn. Sometimes a message has to be opened twice in the app before it is regarded as read. I can delete more than one message on the phone, but this also deletes the messages on the Yahoo! Mail account, which is not what I want.
I have tried deleting the email account from the Email app and then reinstating it, but I now have an unread message count of 50 on the phone when all of these messages have, in fact, already been read on the Yahoo! Mail account.
I can also access the Yahoo! Mail account by means of the Yahoo! Mail app on the phone, but one of the disadvantages of this is that the icon for Yahoo! Mail does not possess an unread messages count at all.
I use and prefer the stock email app, but currently have a small issue. When looking at the folders, it says there is one unread email in the trash folder. However, when you open the trash folder, there is nothing there (I regularly delete my emails from it). Why this is happening and how to correct it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a few gmail accounts on my Droid and that work fine, but my msn email that I added has a problem. If I get messages and don't open them, then 15 minutes later I get a notification of new mail, but when I check there's nothing new. So then I tried marking messages read to prevent this but some of the messages revert to unread on their own then renotify me as if I have new messages. So I either have to open them or delete them to stop getting false notifications.
Anyone else have this issue, any settings I can change that will fix this? Nobody has access to this email account except me so I know it's not a matter of someone marking unread from the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched from the HTC eris to the Droid and had no issues with IMAP on the eris which is running 1.5 OS. What's happening is I setup my personal domain email as imap and all works. I mark all messages in the inbox as read. When new email comes in it marks the entire inbox as new. I've deleted the account multiple times and done a hard reset. I even tested this in the store on 2 phones.
Moto doesn't have an answer and I found this thread on the VZ forums Droid IMAP emails always Unread - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community which the OP is using the same hosting company as I am. I've never had a problem on a WinMo, BB or iPhone setting it up the same way. Something seems off but not sure what it is. I've setup GMail via the same mail app and that's working.

I am stuck at a place when I was using Linkify to create Link an email id to the Android email app.
I have a large sentence in a textview which has an email id. On clicking on it, it opens my android email app. But The problem is that, I cannot add any subject or message in the mail. Is there any way of doing this using linkify ? Or do I have to use any other way for doing this. I initially used a textview which had just the email id, from which I could add the subject and message, but i will have to keep the email id in a separate line. I want the entire line in the textview where the email id comes in the middle of the sentence.
I am currently doing like this:

I am very new to Android (using non-rooted LG Nexus 5) and am having a great problem finding a feature that I depended on regularly with my Blackberry.
I occasionally receive an email from an automated server that indicates an emergency with one of the systems I manage. In Blackberry, I had setup a custom notification based on the email source address, and it would play a custom ringtone (Star Trek Red Alert) at top volume whenever a email from that contact was received. Android only allows custom "ringtones" on a per-contact basis, but these ringtones are only used for phone calls. There is no similar setting for SMS/MMS or Email messages that I can find on Android. I think it is strange that it is not part of the base functionality -- I am beginning to suspect it is a patent issue and it never will be added.
I can't find a good third-party application to provide this additional feature for email.I have tried several and found none adequate (for example, they fail with "Unfortunately has stopped.", they create separate connections to email servers and suck the battery dry, or they are built for SMS/MMS only).
