General :: X2G - Map Bluetooth Sound To BT-Headset On Tablet?
Apr 14, 2012
Is it possible to map he sound to a connected BT-Headset ? Actual i am using a X2G from Pearl (2.2.1) with a Motorola BT-Headset. Pairing and connecting is working well, but -off course- no sound appears on the headset. I am using IVT, all other devices like Handy, NB etc. will work fine with filetransfer,DUN, etc.

Is there anyway to use an Android phone as a bluetooth headset for the Galaxy Tab (or any Android tablet for that matter)? im planning on getting T-Mobile's prepaid Android 2.2 phone and i want to keep my minute usage down by using Google Voice on the tablet. And since they both have bluetooth capabilities it should be possible to use it in this manner, right? I do not want to use one of those hideous, uncomfortable bluetooth headsets because im already going to have a bluetooth device (the phone) with me that im more comfortable using. Is there any way to do this or an app that enables this functionality?

My girlfriend has a Nexus 7 and I have a Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I have one bluetooth receiver in my car and another bluetooth headset. When either tablet is conencted to either bluetooth device, pressing the call button does nothing. I have tried autovoice with tasker with no luck. Is there anyway to get these tablets to recognize when the bluetooth button on the bluetooth devices is pressed? I notice in the menu in settings for each bluetooth device that there is only the option for "use for media audio" and not "use for call audio." If this is the reason is there anyway to modify jelly bean 4.2 to add the use for call audio option?

I am writing an android app for storing and managing voice memos with some basic metadata and tagging.
When recording sound I use:
CODE:...................
This works well when using the phone in a normal fashion. However, it does not detect the presence of a bluetooth headset and still uses the phone's own microphone even when the headset is plugged in.
I also tried using MediaRecorder.AudioSource.DEFAULT, hoping it would automatically choose the correct source, but then no sound was recorded at all.
How can I a) detect if a bluetooth headset is plugged in and/or b) use a bluetooth headset as audio source for the media recorder?

Is there a setting or an app to better control what sound goes to my Bluetooth headset? I've got a Jabra Extreme, but I've not been able to find a method to have just voice go out.
Frequently I'll be in the car, and even when I have the Incredible plugged into my car stereo, it still puts music out through my Bluetooth connection and not the headphone jack. Under Bluetooth settings it says "Jabra Extreme Connected to phone and media audio", but there doesnt seem to be a way to say no no bad droid, phone only.
This seems to be the exact opposite problem all the posts I found searching had

When I had my Voyager, I could use my bluetooth earpiece to talk on the phone, and also get the audio from the Navigation to come through the earpiece. I was surprised tonight that when I was using my GPS on the Droid it didn't come through my earpiece which resulted in me turning my radio down significantly so I could hear the phone.
I also have a stereo bluetooth headphones that I already paired and see the icon on the screen, but when I play a video or some music, it doesn't come through the headphones. Its still coming out of the Droid's phone speakers. Its showing that it is connected in my notifications bar too.

A friend wanted to know if he could use his android tablet as a headset, and after some searching it looks like quite a few people would like this.
So I was sondering if this is possible, I am new to Android development and I have been playing around with the Bluetooth samples and cannot seem to figure out how to make other devices see Android as a headset.
So my main question is- Is it possible to make a app that would disguise an android device as a headset so it could receive calls and maybe even dial number?
I would like to clarify if this is even possible with the Android SDK
The main use if i make this app is for people who can't afford the data plan that is required when buying a smartphone from a carrier. So if this person has a small android MID they can pair it with their dumb phone and essentially use their MID as a phone.

I've already connected different bluetooth things to my TF201 (with CM, so it's 4.3.1), but am not able to connect my bluetooth headset to it. The tablet just doesn't see the device. (I already had this problem before I installed CM). Is there something I could change in order to make it visible to the tablet. Most people issues around this is that they don't pair when the device is visible. (I assume that it is not related to the CM)

One of my friends with an iPhone showed me how a battery level meter is next to the bluetooth symbol when his headset is connected(new feature in iOS5 from what I found online). He was also using a cheap Motorola headset too. Is there an app or widget that does the same thing on Android?

Basically my Samsung Galaxy S2 gives me unlimited calls to mobiles/landlines and I want to make A LOT of calls throughout the day. I have a plantronics pro uc bluetooth headset which syncs up with my phone. I can send SMS and remote access the phone (too slow and clunky to make calls fast and simply).
What I want to be able to do is dial a number from my computer and my phone start call it. Essentially just want the phone on my computer. Paste a number in/dial it etc... click a link and the app/whatever call it.
(P.s. a remote desktop is not the solution as it is too slow - I tried that with MyMobiler. I have a skype number and can pay a small fee for unlimited landline calls but would have to pay for mobiles so this isnt a solution either).

So I have two hands free sets in my car, one that works very well with music and another one that works very well with calls.
Now would I in any way be able to connect my Xperia S to both, using one of them solely for music (media) and the other solely for taking calls? If so how do I achieve that?

is there any app that allows you to "turn" a wired headset to a bluetooth one via android?
You might think to connect an android smartphone to a normal wired headset (such as those supplied with most phones) and to exploit its bluetooth connection to use it on pc/consoles/... Do you think that it is possible?

Is there any application or way to customize the actions performed when the headset button is pressed?
I use Tasker for various automated things, but looks like there's nothing there (did I miss something?).
Specifically, this is the button on a bluetooth headset that would normally start the voice dialer -- I'd like it to do something different, perhaps. I know that the button's "command" can be intercepted by some applications, because I know that Vlingo, when installed, becomes an option of an application that would "handle" the bluetooth button press (i.e. when I press it, it pops up a window for "which application do you want to use for this").
Unfortunately, Vlingo just uses this to launch its own voice dialer... If it matters, I'm using the Galaxy Nexus on ICS.

I've been having issues with bluetooth headset dropout during a call. Pairing is never an issue, and the bluetooth connection is solid outside of a call, but during a call the bluetooth may drop out without warning. This means that while I'm talking to someone, there is no audible noise or visual cue that the connection has dropped and has defaulted back to the phone, and thus I'm relegated to a "hello? hello?" query before I check the handset and find out the caller was asking the same thing to my pocket (which also shows the devices are never more than, say 1.5m apart maximum when this happens).
As far as the phone is concerned, it's still 'connected' to bluetooth, as indicated in the dialer, and somehow isn't aware the connection has been dropped (or is and isn't showing). I thus need to redirect the audio via the UI either to the handset or speakerphone (away from the bluetooth connection it still think it's on), wait for the reroute to register, then redirect once again to the bluetooth to reestablish the connection. Again, without any audio cues the caller magically appears again on the headset, and we play the whole dropout game all over again. Connection duration seems arbitrary, lasting anywhere from 10s to a tens of minutes (with a 2-3 minutes on average).
This isn't isolated to any particular hardware, as I have had this occur on every one of my phones (Nexus S @ Android 3.x, stock and custom; Meizu MX @ Android 3.x - 4.x AOSP, OEM stock, and custom; HTC One @ Android 4.2.x - 4.3, stock only) and across all the headsets I've tried (Plantronics Discovery 925, LG HBM-585, Motorola H790), with Android being the common denominator. Note, I have used a Plantronics Discovery 655 and the same Plantronics Discovery 925 headset on my Nokia 8800 in the yesteryears, and have NEVER had connection or dropout issues.

Is it possible to control an Android device with a Bluetooth headset? I have a friend with a Windows phone who can listen to and reply to text messages as well as initiate calls through his bluetooth headset without touching the phone. It's very very cool, and I don't know that my Android has an answer to it. I would love to be able to do this on my Android and to use Evi through my bluetooth device. I have FlexT9 from Nuance, but it seems to require that I speak into the phone's microphone, as does Evi.
I have a rooted HTC Thunderbolt running das Bamf (don't remember the version) and a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset (same headset my friend with the Windows phone uses to control his phone).

I have a WM8505+ procesor and the software was for WM8605. Now the tablet does not turn on, black screen, no sound nothing. I saw on other forums and youtube that i can shortcircuit 2 pins from a Samsung chip on tablet motherboard but it`s not working.

I've got a conundrum that I can't seem to work out from Googling. I suppose I will give the background then my question.
I use my xperia z2 tablet at the gym to watch TV shows because the treadmill is even more uninteresting than the landscape around my place. I don't like to be hooked up to it via headphones because I don't want to accidentally pull it over. So - I use a bluetooth audio receiver I plug my headphones into, and they receive the audio from the tablet (which is paired with the receiver).
I would prefer to just use my phone in place of the receiver, because the receiver is cheap and doesn't work so well (and i cant believe it can't be done).
I thought two options could be:
1 using the phone as a bluetooth receiver, or
2 somehow using the wifi hotspot on the phone to enable the audio from the tablet to play through the phone.
Does something already exist or is it even possible?
