General :: Window Tint For The Screen?

This isn't for an Android phone, but is about my SiriusXM Lynx radio, which has an Android based OS and same type of touch screen. So if that isn't close enough, pretend this is about my Bionic.
I drive a truck for a living and mostly at nights, and the backlight for the Lynx us still quite bright at night on the dimmest setting. Not sure if the radio can be hacked to let me run a screen filter app like on my phone, so I'm thinking of a static cling window tint to dim the display more. if regular window tint would interfere with the touch screen's responsiveness?

I just got my incredible, typing on it as we speak. It's pretty awesome, but the screen puts a red tint thats most visible on grays. The Verizon dude convinced me to get a cheap screen protector, could that be the cause?

I purchased my phone in October 2010 from Bangalore, India ... After a week of use a white line developed on the display...
I took it to the service centre who said that it was a display defect and agreed to replace the screen ... But they said that the screen was out of stock ...
After waiting almost a month i got a call from them saying replacement screens have arrived ... I immediately went and got the screen changed ... After receiving the phone back i noticed that the screen seemed kinda dull with a brown tint to it at minimum brigtness ....
When i asked the service centre guy he asked me to use the phone for a while and then it will be fine ... I used the phone for two days and took it back after reading several such tint issues on the web ...
Initially the service centre guys refused to change the screen saying that its normal. Luckily for me another customer came in with a galaxy s. I used his phone and showed the technician the brown tint issue. He then agreed to the fact that there was a brown tint and replaced the screen once again...
The new screen also has the same issue ... I had no other option but to take it and leave ...
The whole fun of buying a great phone has been ruined by the technical issues and poor customer service ....

So I don't own a captivate, but I do own another Galaxy S phone, the Vibrant.The vibrant forums, people aren't really responding to the blue tint. So i'm wondering if you guys on the captivate have noticed that everything that should be white, such as a white broweser window, is actually tinted blue?If this is your first smartphone you won't notice probably, but if you own a prior LCD smartphone, try putting your screens next to eachother. Does the Galaxy S look blue?

I have a simple app that is mostly native-code OpenGL with about a page of Java to interface to it. On my new Galaxy Tab, it creates a window that is about 480x800 pixels, while on other devices (including an AC100 with a larger screen) it fills the whole screen.
Searching the web, it seems that this affects many existing apps when they are run on this device, and there is plenty of end-user advice about how to make apps fill the screen. But I've failed to find any advice about how I should do it from within the app.
My current Java code is not much more than this:

What is the basic difference between the PhoneWindow and MidWindow policies? I found that the emulator version takes the implementations of the PhoneWindow.When the MidWindow implementations will be used? Also, I found that PhoneWindow handles the call settings implementation and the same is not there in MidWindow? Please someone help me pointing out the differences between both the policies and under which circumstances which one will be used.

I know the screen has a bluish tint on the Super Amoled (read this info in another thread here), but my pictures shouldn't have a bluish tint in place of white.
This is my 2nd Epic, and the 1st one didn't have this issue - but it had horrible DL/UL, so I swapped phones and got a 2nd Epic.
Anyone else having this issue? If so, is there a settings change that I can do or check for? Or do I need to go get Epic #3?
Hate to get a 3rd Epic, as this one the DL/UL seem to be working as they should.

Have had my EVO for a month now and started taking photos with it and emailing them. Photo resolution (Camera/Settings/Resolution) is set set at 1280x768 and Quality (Camera/Settings/Quality) is set to High. All other camera settings are at default values.
The photos I have taken in daylight without flash, when viewed on a couple of different PC laptops (one an HP, the other a Dell) show a marked pink tint in the photos, which is especially noticeable in skin tones. This occurs throughout the photo and not at the fringes. Similar photos taken concurrently by a companion on her iPhone3 show natural colors and skin tones when viewed on the same PC laptops.
Anyone else notice the same? Is this a hardware/software/firmware defect specific to my unit, a general model-wide defect, or a function of camera settings?

I have an ImageButton in my app and I need to change the tint of the image when the button is pressed/focused. I have the ImageButton set to get its src from an XML file which as follows. code...
However the tint isn't applied when the ImageButton is pressed or focused - the image just displays as normal. The color black is defined as #000000 as always. Any ideas?

I am using an activity with the dialog theme set, and I want it to be full screen. I tried all sorts of things, even going through the WindowManager to expand the window to full width and height manually, but nothing works. Apparently, a dialog window (or an activity with the dialog theme) will only expand according to its contents, but even that doesn't always work. For instance, I show a progress bar circle which has width and height set to FILL_PARENT (so does its layout container), but still, the dialog wraps around the much smaller progress bar instead of filling the screen. There must be a way of displaying something small inside a dialog window but have it expand to full screen size without its content resizing as well?

The Home sample in the android sdk doesn't implement the Add item, which bring up the "Add to home screen" popup window, and Notifivcations item in onCreateOptionsMenu and onOptionsItemSelected. How to do that like the default home?

I heard that, on Android, windows must be "flattened" before they can be rendered. This, "requires both CPU & GPU usage, not to mention that it's an incredibly expensive operation. To make it worse, this operation takes place on the main thread, meaning that you will experience lag. Now I must admit this happens less on smaller screens (I have a large screen), and it also happens less on apps where the developers have optimized their scrolling to the max. This is definitely not something easy to do."
Two questions:
1. What does this mean?
2. Is it true? (For both regular Android and Cyanogenmod)
BTW, it was on a debate between iOS vs. Android.

Im looking for a good rom for an i535 that supports multi window use. I tried synergy and it would have been perfect but none of my Verizon apps work and NFL mobile is probably my most used app. That was the deal breaker for me im a big fan of beans rom but he doesn't offer multi window.

AOKP has the option to enable/disable soft keys. For each soft key I can choose an app that should open when pressed. I would like to have a soft key that opens a group of apps. Example: The first "Soft key" (with a message-icon) should open a dialog window containing sms, contacts, phone, gmail, mail and so on.
Any app with which I can create such a group shortcut? So this app has to open a group window with selectable apps when started.

I'm trying to set up a shortcut to open the JB quick settings window (the one you get by swiping the corner of the status bar, or swiping with two fingers, depending on your preference), and I can't seem to find a command for it anywhere. Not in Tasker, not in the Activities list, and no widget in the Play store that opens it with a tap. Oddly, I can use the Nova Launcher "Nova Actions" menu to create an "expand quick settings" button, but it can only sit on the home screen, while I want to add a button to my quick launch. If I could just create a widget or shortcut that toggles that button it'd work fine, but I can't find the functionality anywhere.
I'm running CM10.1.

Recently I've ordered a Cube U9GT5 tablet and so far it's great, however I miss a small feature and really makes the life easier, and that is the button to kill all apps in Recent Apps window. I have this feature on my I9000 running GamerzROM (4.2.2) and I really miss it on my tablet.
The Cube is also running on 4.2.2 and is rooted. Is there any tweak or an app that can add this button?
