I'd like to install an Android device (tablet, smartphone, computer or whatever) into my car.
The purpose is to listen to internet radios and to be able to switch between those radios using my toyota car player which handles bluetooth/A2DP/avrcp .The app I would use is xiialive. This device would have his own sim card and should stay in the car. I don't want to plug the device each time I enter in my car, push any button or whatever. I would just like that the fact to put the key in my car would connect automatically to a webradio.
In fact I don't really need to see the screen, the device could stay hidden somewhere inside the car. Here are the features I would like :
- auto boot when I turn on the car, which means when the device receives power from the usb port (my car has an usb port)
- plug an external antenna to get a better reception while driving. I'm thinking of a small android computer with a 3G stick plugged in. I have a 3G stick with an external antenna slot. Or any smartphone with an external antenna slot, but I haven't found one so far.
- eventually auto power down when I turn off the car, but If the device shutdowns when the battery is empty, it could be ok too

One of the features touted for Froyo was the ability to stream your desktop library to your phone. I can't find any mention of it apart from those early announcements and feature lists.

I have an HTC One running Android 4.1.2 and I want to listen to Google Play over my Yamaha DLNA receiver.
I've already tried some apps, and BubbleUPnP promises to have this feature, but it just won't play songs from the cloud.
Is there any chance to install a system-wide service that routes all the sounds of the device to the DLNA receiver? On an iPhone that works via AirPlay, there must be something like that for Android too, right?

I switched to a Droid X yesterday (and am loving it) from the original Motorola Droid with QWERTY. My original Droid had the 2.2 Froyo update with the Flash 10.1 and I could watch all the movies on Iphonemovies.net on it. I got my Droid X and the Froyo update was available with the flash player which I installed but now when I go to Iphonemovies.net it is telling me "Sorry, this video is not valid for streaming to this device." Anyone else come across this? Is this a format thing that needs to be set/changed on the actual Droid X device or is it a problem on the website end where the Droid is so new it's not recognizing it. And yes, I have Flashplayer on it now.

I want to stream audio directly from my mac via bluetooth to my nexus one. This might sound crazy, but I actually want to be able to control the audio from my mac. I just want to be able to connect an audio jack to my nexus one and let it stream the audio via bluetooth. Is there an app for that?

I would like to continuously send/stream sensor data (GPS, acceleration, etc.) from a device to a server. What would be the best technology to do this? Is it possible to use RTSP? What else would you recommend me to use?

Droidexplorer(Windows Only)- Requires Root Access and compatible ROM (works with MoDaco), USB connection - Allows you to view, transfer, copy, delete and manage various files on your phone with windows user interface. Allows you to capture video and stills of your phone. Has various plugins. (please be careful using this tool as you can delete and move important files as it has root access)
http://androidforums.com/Desktop SMS (windows only - requires root, java runtime - USB connection) - Allows you to send SMS with your pc.
Moto Phone Portal for Heoro - Works over WiFi network with a web browser. Allows you to view and manage files, contacts, various settings. Allows you to view and send sms through your computer.

Basically I have an old iPod touch 2g on iOS 4.x and a Nexus 5.
I want to use my iPod as my media player but I'd like to be able to control music from my Nexus (only basic controls).
Is there an app on either device that allows this? I know tsk skipping can be done by some Bluetooth headphones so I'm hoping there's a way to make iOS accept command from my Nexus

I would like to run .exe files for Windows (Desktop) PC on android.
I know most of you would say it's not possible, but I don't care if you say that. Everything is possible in this world. You just have to want it.
Most important reasons why it shouldn't work:
- EXEs are compiled for Windows
- CPU commands are different to the x86 processors
- WinAPI isn't available on Android
The application I want to run, will run on a couple of houndred of (Tablet) devices, a remote connection is not the way to go. The application is private, and not available on the market. There is no other application that could replace it.
Any VM for Android, or an other solution -> Performance doesn't matter!
For the beginning I want to try to run a small windows application, like notepad.exe on android devices. Besides of that there is also a way to run Win98 on Android. I havent tested it yet tho.

Currently have a droid x phone (upgrading to Samsung GSIII shortly), but have never figured out how to dynamically sync bookmarks between it and my desktop. On the flip side, I have an ipad and through icloud, bookmarks are dynamically synched between the two - add bookmark in IE on PC and it appears on ipad, as well as the other way around.
I have found posts where people say on export/import, but that is a one time shot. Looking for something that is automated.

I have Sony Xperia S running Android and i am wondering if it is possible to modify the boot loader to accept windows ISO from USB stick or from internal storage? or is it possible to somehow convert windows desktop ISO into a ROM somehow? the reason i am asking is because i like the unrestricted features of windows and the ability to run .EXE on my phone would be brilliant and being able to use skype for group calls which is not featured on android yet.

I'm looking for an actual Windows Remote Desktop app to connect directly to my job's server. I know one exists on iPad, but I haven't found the Android equivalent. I need something that supports all the options just like in the Windows Remote Desktop Connection's Advanced settings such as:
RD Gateway server settings
User Name
Server name
Domain/computer
What I am NOT looking for are apps that must have software (like a VNC server) installed on the host computer, e.g., Splashtop Remote. It must use standard Windows RDP.

I have recently bought a Tablet with Android 2.2 OS and I want to stream my 1000+ movies compressed with divix and h264. All have the AVI file extension. They are shared on my home network. My goal is to be able to stream these files to to my tablet. After searching most the day for which app to use I have come to the conclusion that there are many different way to accomplish this, some good, some bad.
I loaded Skifta on my PC and tablet and can now see the files but it says It cant play the file. Best way to accomplish this as google turns up 20 ways from sunday to stream AVI but which is best. I do like the fact that Skifta can access ones videos even away from home in a wireless hotspots. I was also looking at VLC but don't want to purchase something that won't work.

I am now wondering whether it will be possible for me to stream an Android Game to my PC from my phone?
The thing is, that my PC is not so good in terms of gaming specs, so, I am unable to play good quality games on it..
But! My phone - HTC One X, on the other hand is quite good. (Few titles on Android are really enjoyable!)
So, can I, without using any DLNA, HDMI cable (Reason - My PC Sucks) stream the game?
I just want to use my PC Monitor as a larger screen. I dont want Keyboard, Mouse Controls...

the Android Browser is not streaming the video, it forces it to download it first to play it in the Android Player or some other video app I have on the phone (The Daily Motion website won't even play videos, it shut plays audio). On my old iPhone, I would touch a video and it would stream through the browser, Chrome, Dolphin, Safari, etc. But with Android, it always wants me to download or try to play through an app which doesn't work or it just doesn't work. I have tried, Dolphin, Boat, Chrome, Opera, Baidu... none of them just play the video with problems. I didn't have this issue with iPhone, and it's kinda upsetting that I have such powerful hardware (Galaxy Note 3) and stuff just doesn't work like it should.I thought it was just my phone, but i tried it on my friend's HTC One and got the same results, so it must be an Android issue.

What are the options for streaming TV episodes on an Android tablet..other than Netflix and Hulu Plus? Am I correct in believing that Hulu.com (non-paid) is blocked on android tablets? What about network websites, like NBC, CBS, etc.?
My wife wants a TV in the bedroom, but I am wondering if a tablet would be better for our situation. It would allow her to watch TV in any room she wanted, plus all the other great features of having a tablet.

I stream music from Pandora and an app for local radio (tune in) quite a bit. But I've noticed a very annoying clicking/popping sound while listening. I've tried adjusting the stream quality in Pandora and the buffer amount in tune-in to no avail.
Tune-in has an option to change the current stream for the station if available (in my case aac to wma) and wma does not have the clicking sounds. My best guess is that Pandora uses aac to stream music.
On a bionic ics leak 232 aokp rom.

I have my primary android phone (Nexus 4) and an old android phone (MyTouch 4g). I would like to set up an "AirPlay" like system on a nice (but outdated) stereo system using DLNA. I was thinking about doing this by using my primary phone as the Digital Media Server (DMS), and my old android phone as the Digital Media Player (DMP).
See Digital Living Network Alliance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more info on DLNA.
The primary phone - DMS, would be used to send the music to the old phone - DMP, which would then output the music via 3.5mm jack into the aux on my stereo. The only downfall I can think of to this setup would be the fact that I would have to dedicate a phone to the stereo, but that's not a problem because I don't use it anyway!
