how to instal Cyanogenmod with Fastboot, so i have to try with CWM recovery.Problem is I get "Status 7" error. CWM tries to get some names like Mt11i, mt11, haida and such before showing status 7.

I used to be on a custom ROM called Cyanogenmod and really liked their circle battery icon in the status bar. I'm on a different ROM now that has no features and uses the stock android icon and I'm wondering if it's possible to get a white version of the cyanogenmod icon without having to change ROMs. I'm on an unlocked and rooted verizon galaxy nexus on 4.4.

I know there are lots of threads for this, but every one ive tried seems to just crash my system UI. I would also like it if you could change the colour by app (i know paranoid android does this however, i have not found a stable build for the 4X.)
I am not very experienced at coding mumble jumble, however i do know how to build APK files etc..
I have recently rooted my Galaxy S3 and I wanted to install cyanogenmod. I used ROM manager to do so.
The problem is that as soon as I installed it, my phone supposedly rebooted but it never started up again!
Now all I get is a flashing "menu" and "back". I can't boot normally, or in download mode, or in odin mode.
I have had my Galaxy S II for about a year now, and i am thinking about rooting it and installing Cyanogenmod on it, but i need some info about the proccess: First of all: What happens when you root your phone? Is you data/apps deleted or is it safe?
Second: What about when i flash Cyanogenmod? Is my data/apps safe there or do i need to redownload the apps and backup my stuff?
Third: If i root my phone and do not flash a new ROM, will it be just as hard for me to update the firmware as on a jailbroken iOS device?
And lastly: I have heard about Titanium Backup, what does it backup? The OS, the apps and/or the data? These are the questions i need answered before starting the rooting process.
there are a bunch of prebundled apps that come with cyanogen I'd like to remove & replace (listed below); is it as simple as removing them from the .zip and adding the ones I want? Also the apps I want to add, can I also include their backup data from the /data folder or does that have to be done after? I think its just as simple as, extracting the zip files, removing the apks, and adding the ones I want, then repacking the zip?
Replace:
- Apollo with Poweramp
- Trebeck (or w/e it is) with Nova Prime
- AOSP Keyboard with SwiftKeyboard
- a custom kernel (just copy/replace the kernel zips files with whatever comes in cyanogens zip?)
- some others, but you get the gist
Remove:
- DSP Manager
- Exchange Services
- Email
- News & Weather
- some others (I know about the list(s) of safe apps to delete [1][2])
Add:
- Fonts
- Apps that I always install on a fresh install (Titanium Backup, Busybox, ROM Toolbox, etc)
I know about This Thread explaining how to build your own ROM, but I feel like that is more complicated process for (what seems simple) what I want to do.
My brother just bought an LG Optimus Hub, and wants to install Cyanogenmod 7.2 on it, but we have some doubts, in order to install it, does it need to have the kernel installed? How do we install it? It's my first time with another phone that isn't my mini pro, so I don't want to screw it.

I have tried using Odin, installing from the Zip file but none seem to work for me. I keep getting an error about 'unable to verify signature file'. Now that my app is in beta, I would like to give it to a few of my users to test. But how? What I read on the web talks about installing SDKs, tweaking with many options and using an auxiliary app; I deem these to be well beyond the ability or patience of my users. Is there an easier way? What's the EASIEST?
It would be best if the user can simply navigate to the link and download it using their android phone. Is this possible? I am trying to figure out how to instruct my users to download and install it painlessly. (taking the SD card out for intermediate installation is not painless and is prohibitively intimidating). this is a keyboard that you need to invoke, twice, after you install it. I have updated all my apps earlier today and ever since there has been 6 or 7 apps that are constantly showing the status of installing in the android market. I have had to charge the battery twice today because of this. Is there anyway that I can stop these installs? I am new to android so please be gentle. I have a samsung galaxy s and so far have tried uninstalling the apps it says are installing, clearing the cache, force closing the market, switching phone off and also performing a battery pull.

Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?

This is really ups setting seeing as how I my camera on a daily basis. And I really don't wanna go back to stock TouchWiz on my Galaxy S3. But if this problem persist I may have no other choice. I figured that since the warranty is up and the insurance won't replace it again, I may as well finally root and flash a custom rom. From my poking around the internet, I like CyanogenMod 10.1. I am on AT&T.
I've only attempted a root once before with this current phone, which I think worked, but I abandoned the project months ago and don't remember. In any case, besides that, I've never rooted or flashed a rom before.

I understand that after rooting, I have to create a backup (using that Titan Backup app in the video I think?" and i am going to use Goo Manager to download the ROM and gapps. I saw another video that had me move files from the computer to my phone, but they didn't do any backing up, and apparently that's necessary.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Inspire 4g running Mustaavalkosta's unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM. Everything works great, except my Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000, which is an HID Bluetooth keyboard (no SPP). I get a proper PIN exchange and it pairs with my phone successfully, but I can't actually type anything with the keyboard, and it does not appear in the Languages and Input section of the Settings app. The keyboard itself is good because I can use it with my laptop and an iPad.
I've tried apps like BlueInput, MyBlueCon, and Bluetooth keyboard easyconnect, but all fail to make a connection with my keyboard. In the case of BlueInput, I get a message that "this Android does not support Bluetooth HID."
What's the difference between cyanogenmod and aokp.
I mean I used them both on ics and personally I found aokp to be better. What are your views about the jelly bean ones.

I have successfully downloaded 296/298 projects of CyanogenMOD's gingerbread source but the last 2 files 297 and 298 (prebuilt.git) I can't download that in every attempt the download freeze at near 500mb or above 1GB. I was trying to download that over a weeks. So need prebuilt.git file from CyanogenMOD's CM7 source .repo folder?
