General :: Samsung Galaxy S3 - Power Control Widget Source
Jan 16, 2013
I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 (Japanese version) and in my notification bar, I can see the Power Control Widget. But in my phone there are 9 options (wifi, power saving, data, notification, etc.).
I could see the source code for the "basic" power control widget here (this one has only 5 options).
I'm wondering if the source code for the version I have is available somewhere.

I've been trying to compile the original code for the power control widget from the "settings" app, but it won't because of the missing / hidden / internal classes,I remember with a modified Settings apk with more or modified buttons in the widget.

Just got my EVO a couple days ago so I am still learning. Where do I download widgets?? Also it has a widget to turn on and off 4g, wifi, gps. Is there any way that I can add a toggle for turning on off mobile network and cdma vs. gsm? I have a horrible signal at my office so the phone constantly searches for a signal and kills my battery. I don't want to turn on airplane mode because I do still get calls and need my phone to at least kind of work.

Searched all over the forums and internet for an answer but came up blank.I downloaded an app called power control and installed it. It screwed up my contact list so I wanted to uninstall it. Not just remove it from my desktop, but full uninstall is what I'm after.Did a search for it in the android market and could not find it anywhere again to uninstall it that way. Tried using Astro File Manager to uninstall but does not show up there. The only place it shows up on my phone is in the bottom menu bar ( menu, phone, + ) I hit + -----> widgets ------> power control. Anybody have an ideas on how to uninstall this thing ?

The "automatic" brightness setting sucks. It doesn't detect high light situations, like being outdoors. To get the proper brightness you need to use the power control widget to set the brightness up to see it in sunlight. Not a big deal, but after using the widget you either have to manually reset it to automatic in the settings, turn the brightness off or on high. Its just kind of annoying. When your in sunlight without the brightness up to the highest level I can see nothing on the phone. Literally the screen appears to be off. Is this just my phone, or does the incredible really not sense high light situations.

Is it possible to pull the power control widget from cm6 to use in other roms? I dug around in cm6 for a bit thinking it was as simple as pulling the apk and installing in a new rom but I think I was mistaken because I can't seem to find it. Can it be done and if so, can somebody point me in the right direction (or just do it if it's easy enough )?

For some reason the power control widget won't activate my wireless. It will turn green, but won't connect. I have to go through Settings/Wireless & networks/ then tap Wifi Settings, and it will automatically connect. I don't have to choose a network, I just tap on Wifi Settings and then it connects.

I tried searching for a thread on this, but if there's a duplicate thread, I apologize. I have an EVO, and I love it, but I saw on someone's Droid (I think) that they had a power control widget in their notification tray, rather than as a widget on one of the home screens.

Does anyone know of a power control widget that has a reliable 3G toggle? I know that there is the singular one that come with Sense but I am trying Launcher Pro and really need that functionality. You would think that if HTC can make one another developer could do it too.....

Is there some app which combines the Power Control widget and the Settings widgets? I don't want to clutter up a screen with on/off buttons when one icon would open up a program that allows me to do them all.
I have come across Toggle Settings and wondered if there was anything better. What does everyone else use?

I'm looking for a widget similar to power control but that is free. My brother has one that came with his droid x and I'm envious. It allows you to turn gps 3g and wifi on and off from the widget on your home screen.

I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 that is rooted and is running LiquidSmooth ROM.
I am looking for an app that let's me control my notification LED more.
I'd like to be able to set multiple colours in a pattern for a certain app, for example when I get an email I would like the LED to alternate between blue and white. Is there an app or mod that offers this type of control?

How to disable the baked-in power saver feature in some Samsung Android phones? the one that dims the screen, turns off the keyboard backlight, and doesn't let you use the camera once you hit 15%(or 10%) battery left? can't stand that, for my own needs anyway!
i figure it might be an edit to the kernel source code, or something like that. i just don't know where to do that. I know it can be done tho, because i remember having some ROMs on the Epic 4G that had that junk disabled. guess i'll also see if some of those old devs. are still around.

my galaxy s2,it is rooted, and i have another problem : the phone restarts by itself and gets stucked in the boot loop, i never flashed a new rom ,it is running the stock rom,Someday i needed to factory reset the phone so i rebooted into recovery mode (power + home button +vol up) ,. I booted into recovery mode but the power button does NOT react as 'select' button although it works just fine for power on and off. I select a function and press [power] an the first line becomes the selected. pushing it again just flashed the screen. But pressing it long turns the phone off,and even after the factory reset from phone directly(with out going to recovery mode)
