General :: Notification Bar Stopwatch / Timer?

Aug 3, 2012

When I'm running a timer or stopwatch there's no easy way to tell how much time you have left without returning to the app. Thought a cool feature would be to have a small notification on the status bar, always visible like the clock, that you could quickly glance at to check how its going.

Motorola : Need App That Is Close To Clock - Timer - Stopwatch?

Jul 19, 2010

I've been a long time Blackberry user. Finally decided to jump ship to a Droid Incredible. Ordered on 6/4, received on 7/1. Then the Droid X was announced. Had vzw send me a Droid X to swap out for the Incredible. I got the Droid X last Friday and still have the Inc too.

There's plenty of things about the Inc that weren't perfect. Now that I've used the Droid X I totally have to appreciate how much development HTC puts into their Sense interface and Apps. The ones like the Desk Clock/Alarm/Timer/Stopwatch are far better than what is found on the X.

I know that their beautiful apps are also the main reason that they won't have froyo out for a while for their devices.

Does anyone know of any app that is close to the Clock / Timer / Stopwatch app that HTC made for the Incredible. I don't see to be able to find any apps that are even close to as well designed. I really like how the dials can be spun to set the timer and then they spin to count down when started.

I have great hope for the Droid X and the android platform. I have no trouble paying for well designed and functional apps.

It seems so simple: I need a stopwatch widget, size 2x2. Just need it to be able to start and stop, laptimes would be a nice to have but no requirement. I don't need it to be very high resolution, seconds would be good enough (for my application, even minutes would suffice!). Any tips?

General :: Timer Won't Shut Off?

Oct 16, 2012

I've found that the stock clock/timer app alarm on my LG Eclipse running ICS 4.0.4 won't shut off if I leave the main app screen to go do something else on the phone while it ticks away in the background. The only way to get the alarm to stop seems to be to reboot the phone. If I leave the timer ticking in the foreground it shuts off normallyt when the acknowledge "ok" is pressed. I tried contacting LG about it, but haven't heard anything back.

General :: Changing Lockscreen Timer CM7 - HTC Glacier

Jun 11, 2012

My friend is on CM7 for the Evo 4g. He wants to know if there's any way to increase how long the lock screen stays lit up before it sleeps again(like when you light it up to check the time). I've personally never seen any option for that before, and honestly never cared about it but now I'm curious.

Where or how to change that setting? I'm not adverse to modifying a few system files here and there if necessary.

General :: How To Set Android Timer To Vibrate Or Alarm Through Headphones

Nov 5, 2013

I'm using the timer in a quiet environment and I would either like to have one of the following

The timer to vibrate when the alarm sound is completely silent. I set the timer and turn off the screen but theres no vibration AND no sound so I don't know when the time is up.
OR
The timer to play the alarm through the headphones. No matter what, all the alarms play through the speaker.

Is there a timer app or alarm app can do these? I'm using cm 10.2 on an AT&T Galaxy S3.

General :: Hide Notification Icon Without Hiding Actual Notification

Aug 16, 2013

Is it possible to hide just the notification icon without hiding the notification itself from pulldown?

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.

Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.

Indeed, I have a Timer wich is "scheduled AtFixedRate", but when my App is updated through the market, the timer is killed ; and if the user doesn't launch the App, the timer is not started (so my app becomes useless). How could I do to avoid it ? Is there an event to catch the "App updated" ? I searched, tried, but nothing.

Android :: Looking For Looping Timer

I have to give a 20x20 presentation tomorrow and I'm looking for a timer app to help out. 20x20 means that each slide auto-advances after 20 seconds. I'd like to have a timer on my phone that would give me a quick glance of how much time I have left for each slide. Start it at 20 seconds, have it count down and when it hits zero, start over at 20. Seeing as it's just a timer app, I really would rather not pay $2 for StopWatch & Timer, which is the only one I've found that offers a looping timer. Does anyone have any ideas?

How To Make Countdown Timer

Feb 27, 2012

As a part of my app I would like to include a countdown timer.

I would much rather have the timer count in minutes and seconds, so any good tutorial to set such a timer up I would rather they point me in that direction first (I have looked)

My problem is that I'm getting this error when I press the button to open the activity

02-27 21:07:47.776: E/AndroidRuntime(711): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception
02-27 21:07:47.786: E/AndroidRuntime(711): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{converter.units.kitchen/converter.units.kitchen.Timer}: java.lang.NullPointerException

I currently have the following java activity

import
android.app.Activity;
import
android.os.Bundle;
import
android.os.CountDownTimer;
import

[code]....

It was working fine when I had a fixed number as the starting value, although since reverting to a fixed number it still does not work.

TextView Not Working With Timer

Mar 8, 2010

I just started working with the Android SDK. I've read up on a bit of the literature at developer.android.com but coudln't wait to get my hands dirty writing some code. Well, dirty they are...

I'm trying to write a simple toy application that updates a string every second with the current time (unformatted). With the code below, my console prints out the current time every second, but the TextView doesn't. The TextView seems to update once at the beginning of the program, but otherwise stays the same. Sometimes I'll click the button and it will change once or twice, but that's about it.

I'm not really sure what's wrong here. The timer seems to be working fine, but not the TextView. I looked for something in the TextView that might allow me to force an instance of the TextView class to update, but could not find anything (which is what I would expect, since setText() should automatically update the TextView).

my code is below. I'm using Android 2.1 (emulated).

Code:
public class HelloAndroid extends Activity {
/** Called when the activity is first created. */
@Override

[Code].....

For example, I use my Eris as my MP3 player and would like to listen to it while I go to sleep, however I don't wanna let it play all night while I'm sleeping maybe just an hour or so.*Edit* Nevermind I found an app that does the job. Its called Music Sleep. It lets you set a timer that will close your music app in case anyone else was interested. It only costs 99 cents
