General :: Moving From Link2SD To Another Apps2SD Script

Currently I have an HTC Explorer on the stock ROM with stock kernel, and it is rooted and I use link2SD to move all my apps to my SD card. However, this method does not move the application data. I would like to install a new apps2SD script that will move app data as well as apps, as I am running out of space due to the data.
The problem I am facing is that with link2SD, I am using a FAT32 partition (my current stock kernel does not support ext partitions). Almost all my apps are on this FAT32 partition. I believe if I switch to a different script, I must use an ext partition. I think I will need to install a custom kernel that supports ext partitions (and init.d scripts?) and create a new ext partition.
My questions are these:
1. Will installing a new kernel be enough without installing a new ROM? (If so, any Explorer that adds ext & init.d support? Preferably as few other features as possible, I'd like to stick reasonably close to stock).
2. How can I move all my existing apps from the FAT32 partition to the ext partition, and also move all the data currently on internal storage to the ext partition, without losing anything? (If I back everything up with Titanium Backup, make the switch, and then restore the backup once the script is installed, will that work? If so, do I need to do a wipe at any point?).
3. Which apps2SD script should I use? I have read about several, and have no idea which is best.
4. How do I actually make the switch? Do I uninstall link2SD, remove the FAT32 partition and replace it with an ext2 partition, install the new script in recovery, then boot up? Or would that cause problems with the remnant symlinks made by link2SD? Do I need to do a wipe at some point?

Was wondering, if I partitioned my SD card, will Link2SD move my App Data, not like the game app data, but like the data stored in Applications, like Facebook.
Will this also be moved? Or will it stay hogging my Internal Memory?

I have a problem on my device, every time I rerun Link2sd always to Re-Mount my 2nd SD but if I choose OK (not Restart) my 2nd SD mounted, and when I restart my device and running link2sd again, this application take it back to re-Mount again. I want to ask for that problem. What should I do to make that application become automount.
Note:
1. I use Samsung Galaxy Grand, OS JB4.2
2. I have been format my 2nd SD in ext2,ext3,ext4,fat32 and Now, I use ext4 but no change.

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Victory LTE and I'm having trouble with Link2SD. I've got a 32GB SD card with a 1.5GB partition, and a 30 GB (or thereabouts) partition. I've verified in SuperSU that Link2SD has root access. But when I start up Link2SD, first I get this toast:
"Link2sd has been granted superuser permissions for an interactive shell." ...ok, that sounds good ...
Then a dialog:
"Select the file system of your sd card's second partition", where I select the Fat32/Fat16 option.
Then I get this dialog:
"Link2SD could not obtain root access.
If you have root access make sure you respond 'Allow' or 'Grant' to the superuser request ."
So what's up with this?

I have a Acer Liquid Metal on 2.3.6. I have a custom ROM T&L. It came preinstalled with Link2SD. I like to try lots of apps and this problem seems to be haunting me. I reset my phone on the 26th Dec as it was so annoying. I think I have set up Link2SD correctly. I have a 4gb SD with 1gb as ext2.
If I have Link2SD, why do I still have a problem with low internal storage?? I have had to remove some app's but the internal storage always gets lower.
Have I set Link2SD up correctly?

Link2sd is working fine on my phone, except it can't create the mount scripts because my system partition is nand-locked/S-ON. (Using HTC Desire + CyanogenMod). I can write to the system partition in recovery mode, so what are the scripts link2sd tries to create? If I know that I can create them manually while in recovery.
Specifically, what is the content of the scripts link2sd creates?

I've just used V6SC script for a few days and It's great. Everything is good except Link2SD. After install V6SC, Link2SD can't relink at boot. I tried uninstall V6SC and then Link2SD continous working at boot.I'm using Gionne Pionner 3G with 2.3 OS (it almost likes Micromax A52).

I have a Huawei 8650. I had updated my phone to Android 4.4.2 and i still have root access and all that good stuff but when i try to give root access to something like Link2SD or Root Explorer it will only give it partial permissions. Link2SD wont mount my sd card partition and root explorer wont gain root access at all. Both apps have the error "char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android char* ttyname(int)(3) is not implemented on Android mount: Invalid argument". Idk what this is or how to fix it. how to fix it so i can use my sd card partition and fix my wifi.

I have just installed CyanogenMod 7 on my HTC Desire.
I partitioned my 16GB Class 10 MicroSD card into a 14GB FAT32 partition and a 2GB ext3 partition. I installed DarkTremor's apps2sd scripts, and the apps2sd gui. I set it to save apps to the SD card, and to move the dalvik cache to the SD card.
Everything was working well: I was able to install apps, and they were going to the SD card (had they not, I would have hit the limit of the Desire's internal storage!). Rebooting didn't negatively affect anything - I rebooted several times and the apps were still there.
Then, when I opened the Theme Explorer, the phone just hung. It didn't respond to any input, from the touch screen to pressing or long pressing the power button. Eventually, in desperation, I took the battery out to do a hard reset.
When the phone booted back up, all the apps I had just installed were gone. Their icons remained on the homepage, but with the generic Android icon instead of their actual icon. They were missing from the ADWLauncher panel. The apps are still present in the list of apps, but are missing their icons and proper names. Instead they are displayed with a generic Android icon, and their "long-form" name, for example "com.amazon.kindle".
In addition to all the apps I had installed being missing, certain apps that came with CyanogenMod were also missing, such as: ROM Manager and the program that lists the apps with root permissions (I forget the name). Also, the Market application is missing. However, the calendar, messages, Google Talk, Theme Chooser, etc are all still present and working.
I tried rebooting the phone multiple times, as well as unmounting and remounting the SD card, with no improvement.
Using the terminal emulator, I can see that /sd-ext still has five directories: app, app-private, dalvik-cache, data, lost+found. However, all these directories, including the /sd-ext/app directory, are empty.
Running a2sd reinstall goes through the list of apps, but for each app that is missing, it says that it cannot find the .apk file for that app.
I suppose, then, that I have two questions:
1. Can I restore my apps somehow?
2. If not, and I have to reinstall, how can I prevent this from happening again?

I have used link2sd to link all my apps to my sd card. But link2sd doesn't move the data, it only moves apk and cache and library files. I have asphalt 7 with a data of about 1 gb, and I can use Gl to sd to move the data.
But on Gl to sd download page it is said that it will interfere with other mount scripts and all that. My question : is it safe to use Gl to sd and link2sd side by side, or will it cause any problems???

I updated a popular word game and the new version simply doesn't work. I've waited a few weeks and no update. This is on my tablet and I still have the older version on my phone. How can I copy the older version from the phone to the tablet? Or can I? Neither are rooted and I can't seem to find where the file is stored.

Had Hero for 4-5 weeks now and love it big time. Slightly anxious on the old rooting and adding ROM to the phone myself. Had a look through the various stickys and steps to follow etc. not totally clued up on how it will work right enough?One question I have is, if I root the phone (Following ?UnLockr? website steps), can i then add the Apps2sd app to the phone and move app to there myself and for future downloads?
Do I need to add customer ROM b4 i can do this or does rooting the phone and leaving defauly ROM on phone allow for the apps2sd app work on the phone?

1) I have iPhone data plan through ATT. Is ATT going to make a big deal about me no longer on an iPhone? The plan allows me to tether so would like to keep it if I can.

I've had my SGS2 for about 2 weeks now. It's awesome, but I have a problem with the icons, especifically the VIDEO icon, I move it to one place, and after I download an app or move another icon it moves itself to the last page of icons. This happens like twice a day. I also have a folder with 27 icons, did a battery pull and the folder was empty and all the icons where roaming different pages.

I assumed pictures would automatically be saved on my SD Card but they haven't. I get the "phone storage is full" message all the time and the only thing I can think is that I have many pictures in gallery. How can I move the pictures to the SD card, that nothing is going to?

I'm new here! I've benne a palm Pre user for months (I still own it) but the experience was not painless, mainly due to the fact that the product is not supported in my country (Italy) and thus I have non access to paid Apps...
But then, my wife gave me a really nice gift: a brand new HTC Desire!
I've used it for a week now, and I'm totally sold to it.
Now, the problem is: I'd like to migrate all my personal data from my Pre to the Desire.
I had no problem with contacts and calendar (Google!) but I have no clue on how to transfer the rest of my stuff, and if it's possible or not.

I have a 16 gb card in my galaxy S2 phone full of pics, videos & music. I just got a galaxy tab pro & bought a 32 gb card at same time. I would like to transfer all my music from the 16gb card to the 32gb card & then use the 32 gb card in the S2 (since I like having my music portable & take pics with the phone) & put the 16gb card in my pro. I have an iphone4s and I'm quite happy with it, except for the fact that I hate Apple. So I want to move back to Android. Things that I like about the iphone is the mail app and. mostly, battery life (battery consumption when screen is locked is superb, and that is the phone status usually). I'm not going to use the phone for games, but for calls, whatsapp, twitter, g+, music (lots of music playing), some video and gps navigation. I would like to ask people for recommendations on a good terminal based on (most important to less important):
1.- Battery life (I give importance to battery life when idle)
2.- Fast processor
3.- Fast charging
4.- Support for external storage (microSD)
5.- Cyanogenmod compatible
6.- If possible, the terminal sould allow me to replace the battery
Do not comment on things like switch off wifi when not browsing the web, or switch to 2G when not using 3G to improve battery life. I do not do that now and I have power for 36 straight hours with my iphone. I'm not looking for workarounds for bad battery life. I'm trying to have the same battery performance I have on my iphone on a phone with Android without switching things on and off.

I used ES File Explorer to copy all my OGG files in system/media/audio to external SD then used Windows explorer to copy the files to my PC. I then did the opposite process to transfer the OGG files off my PC to a new phone (have to mount RW internal storage so ES File Explorer could overwrite any duplicate OGG files.) None of the OGG files I transferred will play. However, the OGG files in the Internal Storage Ringtones directory all play fine and they appear as duplicate ringtones.
Does the copy process screw the OGG files up or can you just never overwrite files in the System > Media location and get them to work?
Seems I should just go delete all the ringtones in the System > Media location to remove the dupes and only work from the Internal Storage > Ringtones directory assuming I have all the system ringtones also in the directory.

i got a samsung galaxy s4 mini the other days and i bought a sd card 8gb kingston class 4, specially for games. i downloaded asphalt 8, automaticaly installed on the internal memory,ocuppied 1.5 gb. when i'm moving it on sd card with "manager apps" it does move but the game occupy totally 3 gb, 1.5 on internal memory and 1.5 on external memory. when i'm moving it with "my files" android>data/obb etc etc, it doesn't work the game, it occupy just 1.5 in internal memory and when i'm starting the game it says to me that i must to download the game, the 1.5gb that i'm talking about.

I have installed Jaggyrom 3 on my HTC explorer, sometimes my phone freezes and as per the post in XDA, I have installed cranium kernel 3.
Since then I am unable to move any apps to sd card. Its saying "Unable to move, system error". The only reason I rooted my phone is to install apps I like, if this is not happening then I am in a real loss.
Can I install the jaggyrom 3 with the "Freeze phone".
