View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to use my Galaxy Note 2 as my video camera. Then use a 2nd portable handheld device (like another phone or tablet) to act as a monitor so can see what my Note 2 is filming. I would like to know if this is possible somehow either wired or wireless.
Could I purchase a small portable router like the TP-Link router. Then connect it with usb to my Galaxy Note 2. Then create a wifi connection that a 2nd wifi device can connect to (like an HTC One or tablet). Then use an app of some sort to see what my Note 2 is filming? I have found the team viewer app but I think is only for mobile to pc. how to use a mobile device to act as a monitor for my Galaxy Note 2
Considering writing a wifi cracking (wep, wpa) auditing tool for the android platform, but I am wondering if it is possible to do without a rooted phone.
I had thought it would be impossible to run on an unrooted phone due to the phones wifi chip ignoring packets not addressed to the phone. That is, without the ability to set the wifi chip to monitor mode many of these attacks wont work. I was surprised to learn that android supports multicast packets. That is, android phones can be set to receive packets not addressed to them.
My questions are: Does having a multicast lock mean I can receive all packets broadcast, or does it only apply to packets with a multicast flag (if such a thing exists)?
Is there a difference between monitor mode and multicast? Does the android api have a system for switching channels?
More generally I'm curious: Is anyone familar with other wifi cracking projects running on android (google searches turned up very little)?
What difficulties am I likely to run into?
This question is related to SO question Is there anyway to put Android WIFI (droid handset) into permiscuous monitoring mode?
I am using sony ericsson x10 mini mobile phone. I want to install custom ROM cyanogen 7 gingerbread. But I am facing problem while booting this in recovery mode. I have tried the following.
downloaded custom rom for xperia mini and copied in to sdcard

installed root explorer S1 tool
Rooted from superoneclick
downloaded xRecovery and copied into system folder
Flash tool - showing bootloader unlocked, and dont know how to flash phone.
msm7227 - used for unlock boot loader
I have rooted my phone successfully, all above things did successfully, when i am trying to boot my phone into recovery mode then it is not boot in that mode instead it boots in normal mode. What I am doing when phone starts and sonyericcson appears then i continuously pushing button many times but it boots in normal mode. So what I have to do to boot my phone in recovery mode. I have read and tried many guides in your forum but nothing works.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (model GT-I8190, Android Version 4.1.1) and as of about 3 weeks ago it will crash intermittently when I am using it. I have had the phone for just over a year. The battery will be well charged prior to it crashing. I will be using the phone and then it crashes. The phone will switch off and then will turn on again (by itself) and when the home screen appears the battery will show that its on 0%. This of course then causes the phone to turn off and then turn on again and so on....the only way of stopping this cycle is by taking the battery out (to stop the cycle) or by plugging in the adaptor. Indeed if the phone is plugged in then it never malfunctions and the phone works ok.
Also the battery charge has started to drop quite significantly - It sits on my desk at work and yet i cannot get through the day without re-charging it. When i was in the O2 shop the other day it dropped 12% in 5 mins.It usually crashes when I am using apps that in the past have worked fine but today it crashed when it was updating an app.I have deleted apps that I have added recently in case it is anything to do with them.I have backed up everything and have restored factory settings.I have not dropped it or got water on it etc.
The problem still exists.I took it to o2 who want to send it off. Is it simply a battery issue? It could be a battery issue but I dont want to spend money on a new battery for the problem to persist.
I've copied some pictures with kies from my PC to my Galaxy S3 mini. All have the same name with a numerical count (xx001, xx002, xx003 etc.).Although in My files they show in order, in the Gallery they don't keep in the right order (xx001, xx003, xx002 etc.).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone only displays notifications from certain apps (FB Messenger, Snapchat, Tinder, maybe a few others) when it is connected to wifi. When I am not connected to wifi, I can still use these apps and send/receive messages, but when I get home and connect to wifi again I receive all the notifications I should have gotten earlier in the day. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and BBM all deliver notifications just fine over the mobile network.

Today I was on whatsapp on my samsung galaxy mini 2.I discovered than the wifi was not working anymore so i turned it off and on,but it turned off automatically. So i restarted the phone, long pressing the power button.
But the phone didn't start anymore. What happened ? I tried to plug the battery off and on,but still not opening...The charger was plugged in when this happened...
I was going to get a new rom for my galaxy s3 mini, I made a complete wipe, formatting system/cashe/data, then I was going to install rom but I pressed "Install zip from sideload" instead of "install zip from sd card".
In short I'm thinking that if I remove battery my phone will be dead until I can get a comp and flash thru that, so I don't want to do that. How do I stop this request?
As i wasnt actually aware of what i was doing, i accidently flashed a zip file using the stock recovery on my galaxy mini and yeah, now its bricked. After a lot of googling and reading forums, I assume that the phone can be fixed using odin. So, I have downloaded odin and put the phone on download mode, but when i connect the phone to the pc, there is no response whatsoever from the PC. But the phone is charging when connected. The phone can be booted into recovery mode, download mode and emergency download mode. I tried many USB cables, all the usb ports and 2 different PCs. Still no luck. I feel something is wrong with the usb port of the phone. It does look a little distorted as well. So basically, i cannot use odin and was wondering if there is anyway to fix the phone without using odin...
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast week I was in the US and had gotten the AT&T pay-as-you-go sim. It charges 1c/kb and I thought that's not too bad since I *only* get outlook and yahoo email. Well, *before* I knew it, it sucked up $14.40 for internet access....Frantically called AT&T customer service and after a long wait, they told me that my device had access the service and downloaded 1.5Mb! I asked them if there was a way to turn off the GPRS(since I was mostly interested in their $2/day unlimited calling service) and they said they don't have a way to turn it off Tried a bunch of things like turning off auto-sync (in settings) etc...but STILL I ended up paying $40 by the end of the day!!
Is their a way to turn off GPRS completely and also monitor what applications are accessing the service? All I have to go by is what AT&T says at the website!
I've tried to root my samsung galaxy S3 mini today it was completed but now it wont start up. It stays at the Samsung Galaxy S 3 mini screen. Also i tried to connect it again with my pc but my pc says that there isnt a device connect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy s4 mini and since this morning it won't connect to the network (I am with three - they have checked there are not signal problems in my area) AND I can't connect to my wireless (definitely working as I am using my iPad to write this.
So when I go to switch the wireless on, on the phone, it flicks itself back off again and doesn't even go green like it normally does.
I don't know if either of the following two things would have affected this or not:
1) my phone downloaded some Samsung update yesterday (via 3G, don't know if it completed though). Phone says its using android version 4.2.2 - is that relevant?
2) got my phone on to the wireless system lat night (because of MAC address filtering) but it was working fine last night.
Anyway I have tried all the standard things - switching my phone on and off, taking the SIM card out etc but still no network and no wireless.
My Galaxy mini is stuck in Boot loop and I don't know how to fix it... I can enter Recovery Mode and Download mode but Odin can't recognize my device..
