General :: How To Debug MTK6573
Sep 17, 2012I'm experiencing a battery drain in a Dapeng A7. Sometimes the battery charge decreases even though it's plugged to the charger.
I can see that when it happens the wifi don't switch off, even though I have set it in the settings, and it fact some times it does.
I have get some logcat but the only thing I noticed was just several ACTION_BATTERY_CHANGED, but without timestamp.
I would need some extra information, combining top, with logcat, and some more command for sure.
I have rooted the phone, so any command will be available.
Meanwhile I'm testing some battery savers.

I have no backup of the ROM and the simple factory reset was useless from the beginning of its short life.

General :: How To Root MTK6573 A9220 Phone
May 10, 2012I bought a Chinese made Galaxy Note A9220, and have been using for 2 weeks, I like the big screen, battery life is reasonable, but the ROM storage is at the low side, I am not able to install many favorite apps/games in it, instruction to Root this device so I can remove some of the unwanted apps/games stored in the system. I have searched through many Chinese websites and tried many Root apps, so far no luck.
Basically the phone comes with specs as below:

I dumped all .img files from security, but i need to flash it and i didnt have a scatter file. Where i can create a new one? Or how?
And how to build a CWM based or another to this phone? The system is rooted but LOCKED, i cant change any thing like launcher or another program, and i restart the phone, and it returns like original.
i already rooted and partitioned, and have some bugs because apps crashing and i cant change launcher, the same issue with the keyboard, i change it but when reboot, the original one restored.

May 15, 2012I'd want root access is to install Titanium Backup or a firewall to freeze/block access to a certain Chinese Android Market app. The app in question sends out a notification to feature new Chinese apps everytime the phone is given internet access and there are no options to disable it within the app itself. And since it came with the phone, it cannot be uninstalled, and of course, it restarts immediately if stopped.
One-clicks do not work-- they all result in directory/permission errors. For example, superoneclick will hang on step 7 and doomlord's method would reboot the phone without making any changes.
It would seem my only resort would be to use a different ROM, but there are no ROMs for this phone. Of course there are methods using similar MTK 6573 phones which are usually just clones in different casings, but I've read that using non-specific ROMs will result in a brick as there are slight differences.So how should I go about rooting this phone? What are the risks of using a non-specific ROM?
