I have MMX A100 . The camera auto-focus is not up to date. I think its code is a bit itchy. any way had seen Karbonn A18 with almost same hardware but running ICS 4.0.3 with kernel version 4.0.13 have the stock camera autofocus working great .My A100 is having 3.0.8 Kernel.
I had stock ROM of both. Can I extract the Karbonn A18 Stock Camera and replace it with My ICS 4.0.4 ROM?

I have a problem with my camera so I try to install are the 4.2 camera on my haipad I9300 mtk 6577. No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've installed several apps that are supposed to have features that I can't even find. For example, I installed "Writer". This is supposed to have text formatting features (bold, italic, font size). But, after highlighting some text, I can't find anything that triggers a "Format" menu. A long tap on selected text will bring up a Cut & Paste menu. But if there's a Format menu, I haven't found it, yet.
I'm using Writer as an example, but I've tried half a dozen apps now that are listed as having certain features. Sometimes the program menu is the little checkerboard icon next to the Honeycomb task switcher at the bottom of the screen, but on many apps this menu is empty of anything useful. Some programs have an icon on the top of the screen that triggers a menu, but on others I've tapped on everything I can find and found no extra controls.
Is there some common screen gesture that I haven't discovered yet? Are developers listing future features that don't exist yet? Did Gingerbread have some context menu feature that's missing in Honeycomb? And is there some reason developers don't bother to provide a paragraph or two explaining how to use their product?
btw - I have an Acer A100 7 inch tablet, running generic Honeycomb 3.2 and downloading apps from GooglePlay. My device doesn't have a hardware Menu button, maybe that's the problem?
I rooted my Samsung Conquer 4g on the Sprint network. I downloaded Wifi tether App (had to go to a website on my computer, then use the QR scanner app on my phone to download the app since Sprint won't allow it on the Android market place.) So my problem is now that my laptop and Ipod touch can see the wifi hot spot and connect to it just fine BUT my Honeycomb Acer Iconia Tablet A100 can't find the SSID wifi connection. It shows all other connections except for my wifi hotspot. why it won't show up on my tablet?

I tried taking the Camera .apk file, but I just get a message saying "application not installed" when I try to install it, and "there was a problem parsing the package" if I try to install it from /root.
Yes unknown whatever installs are allowed. And I've tried a hundred and seven different installer/file manager apps, but they all direct me to the same default installer.
Other apps I'd want to take are the calculator and video player.

I don't get it. I actually really like the stock camera app that comes with the phone. But if I take a picture or video, I can't view it. It's like it's instantly corrupted. It sucks cause I had some good pictures and video but now they are basically gone. I have downloaded another camera app and I get reliable pictures that aren't corrupted. But I would prefer to use the stock one cause it just seems to react quicker. What apps do you use for taking pictures?

View 7 Replies View RelatedFirst off, my X is rooted, running the original leaked 2.2. This morning, my stock camera app stopped working. I click on the app to open it, and it flashes a black screen for 1-2 seconds before returning to the home screen. It was working perfectly fine last night when I took 20+ pictures. The strange thing is that I have done absolutely nothing as far as messing with the phone. Not even a single app downloaded for the past 2 weeks (been busy on vacation!). The hardware is fine too, because I can take photos with Vignette. A battery pull and about 5 restarts has not solved the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or is my only option to do a factory reset? Also, can I restore all my apps easily with titanium backup paid edition?

I have never been happy with the stock camera app and the pictures it takes. I downloaded an app called Camera 360 from the market. I've been taking several pictures and comparing them side by side. To me, Camera 360 looks like it takes much better pictures. I have emailed myself 3 or 4 pictures so I can compare them on the PC. The stock camera seems to be very blurry when blown up onto a computer monitor. The Camera 360 pictures seem to be clearer and sharper. Granted I'm sitting here at my desk taking pictures of the wall and my feet, so it's possible the Camera 360 software will stink outside.

A couple days ago my cousin and I finally got to sit down and root his phone, he was at 2.1 and I now have him at 2.2 with BB. Yesterday he asked me about the camera quality diminishing and if it was a common effect of rooting and I didn't believe it was.
