General :: Infuse 4G Boots Into CWM Every Time?
Oct 25, 2012
I have a rooted Samsung Infuse 4g. I began having problems with the phone after I did a factory reset. Everytime I boot the phone now it brings me to clockwork mod recovery . Everything is written in red. Iv tried to do a recovery from here and I tried installing the rom from the my sd card and have had no luck. I cannot get into download mode either. How can I get my Droid running again?

My phone have turned it self of or turned it self into cwm for over a week now! I've tried to update the phone, changed rom, deleted everything (that's not a must to have for the phone). But it keeps on doing it!
I have a Samsung galaxy s i9000.
Kernel: 3.1.10 devil2
Codename: Tiramisu EVO I.C.E A.G.E 1.9.5
Version: IMM76D
Android version: 4.0.4
I've tried using an old version that I installed with Odin but without success...

I have Infuse I997 with Gingerbread UCLB3. I think my camera got wet during a rain and stopped working. When I open camera (or flashlight) it opens up the application but the screen is black.
It also does not want to close and eventually shows a message that application stopped working and needs to close.

I am attempting to install Ubuntu on my rooted Samsung Infuse 4G. I have consulted several how-to articles here and elsewhere, but after several hours of work I am still stuck on the final lines of code in the terminal emulator app that a YouTube tutorial suggested. Below is the code that I have entered thus far, and the error code at the bottom of the list:
-----------------
Ubuntu Chroot Bootloader v0.1
Ubuntu Bootloader is now installed!
This process does NOT damage Android OS!
[Code].....
I have tried two different installation methods. The first one focused on accessing the advanced shell through Windows Command Prompt. This didn't work because the prompt froze after I typed in "advanced shell" (several attempts brought same results) .
I then tried the "easy" version that involved the terminal emulator app in the place of the command prompt. Assumedly, if I can resolve this last issue without causing any more, I should be able to access Ubuntu through Android VNC. It may be important to note that the time before last when I typed in the above code, I got a different error code. That error read: losetup: /dev/loop1: no such device or address. I don't know what made it change.

I rooted my device with superoneclick, got the 3e recovery, then got the CWM recovery for galaxyS i9000 through ROM manager(working fine), and then rebooted into recovery and flashed carbonROM for 4.2.2 (the .zip file), along with Gapps for 4.2.2. Now it's stuck at the samsung screen, I can't boot into recovery, taking out the battery doesn't work, and the power button is NOT jammed. I can't restore the backup that I made because I can't go into recovery and my computer is not detecting the device (with all the proper drivers installed).
I don't care about the user data (including contacts, messages, etc) that much, if it needs to be wiped. I only want my phone back, with or without the ROM.

My problem, I have a Samsung Infuse 4g with gingerbread which I installed through Odin with all the info I gathered reading post here. When the problem occurred of no network access, the phone had the stock froyo firmware and that had been working very well until now.
I cannot get data at all. I can get on wifi, send calls and text messages. I tried changing the mobile network access points and nothing. One thing that I did notice after reading all your post, was that my IMEI is a bunch of symbols, diamonds, question marks, etc.. but is not numbers like it should. The issue started with the stock firmware (froyo) and continues with GB. Another thing is that I have never backup the system at all, I currently cannot find an EFS folder, even after installing RootExplorer.
I dont put all kinds of fancy utilities on the phone, the only one there is Golf app. This just happened out of nowhere. The phone is not even a year old which I got from ATT. You can say, send back to ATT for warranty! I am a Soldier stationed in Germany, because my account with ATT is suspended until my return to the US, the warranty does not cover the phone. In the end I am screwed anyway since I changed the firmware to GB and it is rooted. My questions are;
1. Is it possible that I dont have an EFS folder?
2. The lack of EFS folder constitutes to an unreadable IMEI?
3. What can I do to fix it? Is there a dummy guide to fix this?

From last one day, I am suffering from this problem, my HTC Desire HD rooted and installed with ViperDHD keeps restarting as it soon as it boots. The phone bootscreen shows, finishes, even the android home screen appears but just for one second and then goes blank and restarts. This all started happening, when I had connected my phone with my computer and a restart occurred, instantaneously.
I have tried everything, Factory reset, full wipe, keeping battery out for 10 minutes, removing SIM and SD card, formatting SD card, even re-installling 2 different ROMs with Full wipe but the problem still persists.
While I do realize it might be a hardware issue but it is impossible go give it up to any service center because it is an imported piece without any warranty. I won't give up that easily. Here are some of the stuff I tried, and some observations I made Device shuts off at bootscreen if there is no SD card, (I doubt that SD card is an essential thing).
I can only boot into recovery where adb logcat or adb bugreport don't work. I tried adb shell find -f | log. None of the log files seemed useful. Is there something I can find here?
What kind of hardware issue might it be? Is it possible to debug it? and what causes shut down? and since I am have some knowledge of computers at lower level, C and linux, is it possible to hack into the kernel and perhaps correct what might be wrong?

My Atrix crashed a few days ago after ADW launcher locked up and I had to force close it. The phone was locked up at that point so I pulled the battery. Ever since, the phone will boot, but I can't unlock the screen or access anything via the touch screen. I can see the notification bar and I hear notifications from my calendar. It seems as if everything is working in the background, I just can't access anything. If it can't be fixed other than a hard reset, is there any way to backup my device using adb since I have no access to the device?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S Plus (GT-I9001)
My stock rom is: I9001XXKI3_I9001XEUKI1_XEU
I have been wanting to install a custom Rom for a while now.
However I always end up getting stuck in Clockwork recovery mod.
I have tried installing clockwork recovery by:
Using Odin (Using this tutorial > [URL]....)
Rooting it first then installing it using the stock recovery. (Like in this tutorial > [URL]...)
Both ways have got me stuck booting into clockwork recovery mod and I've tried other things like clearing the caches and stuff. I'm fed up with slow gingerbread! >~<

I've had a Samsung Galaxy Ace for a year and a half and have never had any problems with it. It gets dropped once or twice a week, but besides that it stays pretty safe. Last night I went to restart my phone and when I turned it back on it showed its logos like it always does before bringing me to my lock screen but this time it got stuck at the Samsung logo. It pulsed white and blue for around 30 seconds, then goes through all the logos again and it does this on loop. I've tried removing the battery and trying it, removing the SD and SIM cards and trying it, and no luck.

Like the title states, my wife's Ally is suffering from random re-boots at a rate of at least 20x per day. The phone re-boots when in use and when idle. This has become quite annoying to say the least.
My wife did stop at Verizon yesterday. She was told by the rep, the reason for her problem, was due to her having approximately 800 text messages stored on her phone. She deleted all her texts and is still suffering from this problem.
We have removed all applications from the Ally without success. As always, this problem started taking place on day 32. It looks like she is stuck with the Ally, so a solution is a must.

How can I determine if the current time is between two other time objects?
For example: current: 15:23, startTime: 22:00, endTime: 06:00. So the current time is not between this two other times, but this "23:47" is.
*I don't care about the date, only the time
I tried to do it like this:
Code:
Time startTime = getStartTime();
Time endTime = getEndTime();
Calendar c = Calendar.getInstance();
Time now = new Time(c.getTimeInMillis());
[Code]...
but it dosen't work well. their aren't any errors but it just dosen't work.
To be more precise the problem is that 15:35.after(22:00) return true... and I don't know why. I think that the problem is something with the dates but I don't know what

Good Evening, I doing a bit of surfing this morning with the Desire and put it in down for a few hours and when I cam back to it about 4 hours later I found the battery was dead.. After charging it up and turning it back on all it will do is show the white screen with green HTC letters before rebooting again.
Very frustrating as I have just got this one setup the way I like it since being replaced. I can not even say why it has happened, I use no task killers and the only app ran was the internet via wifi.
I have called Orange and they will send a new one out tomorrow to replace it, so good for the customer services but this is my second faulty desire.
I tried loading the phone with the volume down button pressed and using fastboot / recovery but no joy there.
Before it goes back tomorrow I really want to reset the phone to factory defaults as all my data will remain in the phone and I do not trust any 3rd party to clear it down.
Does anyone know what I can do to clear the data please?

I was having some pretty serious problems with Bionix 1.7 (couldn't download from market, unusably bad GPS, etc), which I thought I had successfully flashed yesterday afternoon. I decided to use Clockwork Mod to restore a backup I made before I flashed Bionix. This hung up for quite a while (upwards of 20 minutes) so I figured something had gone wrong. I held the power button until the screen turned off, and that put me right into Android Recovery, where I get the options to reboot (puts me right back there), reinstall packages (puts me into Clockwork Mod, which I'll get to in a second) or delete user data / cache, which I haven't messed with.
If I go into Clockwork Mod, I can tell it to try to restore one of my previous backups again, but it hangs up indefinitely (upwards of several hours) at "Restoring data..." (with either immvbsd.lck or .pc_syncstream below that). I can also still see the Bionix .zip on my SD card, but when I tell Clockwork Mod to install that .zip it gets this far:
Formatting DATA:...
Copying files...
E:Failure at line 81:
copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA:
Installation aborted.

I am reading the initialization process of Android system on the emulator. I use "adb logcat" to see the internal output. I have read according to the following order: init -> init.rc -> zygote(init1->init2) -> systemReady(start com.android.phone and android.process.acore) However, the log has some lines about starting other processes.code..

I have a Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) which doesn't boot past the start-up splash screen and sound effect. Eventually it will just switch to a black/blank screen and do nothing more. The back and menu buttons still light up if tapped.
The history how I got it this way, was I was using the app web-sharing lite to transfer some files through wifi without the need of a usb cable. I was transferring a large movie file when the phone locked up. I reset the phone, and upon boot every app and service was crashing. Tried this a few times, then pulled the battery etc, still the same. Then I booted into recovery mode(vol up+home+pwr), and applied wipe data/factory reset, then rebooted. This is when it started to only boot into the black screen.
This is a Canadian phone, service/bought through bell, the phone had the one click root applied to it so TI Backup could run on the device. So I think I'm out of luck with any warranty service.
I can get into the phones recovery mode and download mode, so I think there is still hope for this phone to be recovered. What I don't know is what firmware version Bell ships with these devices, and where I can download it?

The only way I know this is having installed a task manager. There would be no other way of knowing this.
I have about 14 apps downloaded form the market. Not too many, but I was susrprised to see applications like shop savvy and My Backup automatically start up when my phone boots up. Whilst in the apps themselves, there seems to be no way of stopping this behaviour. Why would they do this ? Why is there no kill switch fro these apps natively for android ? It seems there is a lot of chatter about whether or not task managers are good for the platform, or whether we should just let android do it's thing on it's own. I'm really in two minds whether to carry on using a TM or not. It's for reasons such as shop savvy opening up on it's own when I don't want it to that I'm tempted to keep in, if only for my own piece of mind, and the ability to kill apps that don't need to be on. This MUST have a direct correlation with battery usage.
Anyway, I have to say that I've had most platforms, iphone, blackberry, symbian, and Android really does seem to me to be the best one yet. I am extremely happy with my Hero.
