Well actually I wanted to replace/ place a text file in system directory (e.g. /system/etc/) of android phone remotely which means I don't have any physical contact to that phone.
By remotely I mean via downloading or through app. or any other mean ?
- Is it possible?
- Is it necessary to have that phone rooted?

However sometimes I want to copy a particular Mp3 from my phone to my computer. All the files are randomly numbered xxx.mp3, so I can't see which file is what track in MP3 explorer.

I want to use my android device (4G Systems One Tab) to remotely execute a batch file on my PC via WIFI-Connection.

After using Odin to update firmware on my Galaxy Player 5.0 (model g70cwy/xaa), I can no longer get it to start. I get the Failed to mount /cache (no such file or directory) (see attached screenshot.
I tried the factory rest option, it does not seem like any of the options on this screen works.
i own a galaxy note n7000. i just update it to ics via kies. so i decide to root it. i read in some thread it said download the cwm.zip i do as the instruction but when i get into recovery mode and choose apply update from external storage the phone keep saying E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've tried looking around google, xda search tool, have read all pages (3 of them) in Xposed wiki. I've been trying to cheat in a game called Galaxy On Fire 2 HD (I have purchased it), I've found some tutorials how to do that on iOS by modifying some binary files (assetsdatainships.bin and items.bin), on android those files are in game apk, and I cannot modify them without breaking signature.
I found Xposed framework and I think it could be perfect for my purposes. Is there an easy way to replace those asset files by my own? I have very little programming skills though, but I'll try. I've found a short example in wiki, but I don't understand it. I've read wiki tutorial 2 times but still have only vague idea how all this works.
Using MX Player. It worked best. All you have to do is have the username and password put in together into the URL after http, but before the URL of the video file. So lets say the directory is protected by the username FrancisFord and the password is Copola and the URL is URL...., you would enter this address when streaming from a URL:
URL.....Remember to remove the www from the URL and that the username comes first then the password seperated by a colon, followed by the @ symbol. URL....
So, I have video's uploaded to my personal site. I password protected the directory with .htaccess. The permissions of the videos are set to 777. If I surf to the directory of the video through the browser on my Galaxy S II, it asks for a username and password and then displays the files that are there. When I click on a file, it tells me that I cant play the video and thats with any video player I use. If I try to play the video in my browser itself by putting it into something like JW player, it also doesn't work. The only time it works is when I unprotect the directory. Then it streams it fine.
I am using A Samsung Galaxy SII (s2) or Epic 4G touch from Sprint. I have Cyanogen Mod 10, beta 2 with Jelly Bean on it. I use the built in browser and also Chrome. The video players I have tried using to no avail are:
Daroon Player
ES Media Player
MX Player

Rockplayer lite
Showtime Player panel

When making an image I accidentally had Clockworkmod image be saved to the device itself instead of being saved to the external SD card.
I am able to browse to it using Root Explorer and select to Copy it, but how do I PASTE it onto the external SD card when Root Explorer only accesses the device directory and not the external SD card?
Quick 2nd question: I know on some previous devices such as the Galaxy S 4G you were *not* supposed to run Clockworkmod after booting in and from the Apps Drawer, instead you were only supposed to run directly from the startup screen before booting in. Is it OK to actually start the Clockwork Backup/Restore process from the Apps Drawer of the Galaxy S4 and let it reboot and do its thing or is it only supposed to be run BEFORE booting in?
I'm engineer but more from a chip/assembler x86 level. I'm new to Android. Still figuring some general things out. I have written some apps, but have a general question. If I were to write an improved version of - let's say - TextView. Is it possible to make all app's on the system using this class, basically replace TextView? How are the java classes on the Android system, are they compiled, can I replace the library? Is this protected?
View 1 Replies View Relatedafter i got my application ready, i put it on my web server, then i got a big problem. i played around and finally find out couple facts between using edge (not 3g) and wifi to download my file 1. the size different. if i use wifi, the downloaded file is 59k which is correct, the one from edge is only 53k. 2. when i try to install them, the wifi one is just fine. but the edge one shows it is trying to replace Android System. and of course, the installation failed.

The computer sees the device, adb has root access, yet when trying to push files is gives me an error indication that the system/data/midc is a read only. tried adb remount over and over with no lick. Is there any other way to get to write on the system folder?

My objective is to create a text file in an android file system.
Using java language, I am creating an app. It has a screen with a table of 3columns. Each time a user enters the table row and click on Submit button, the row entry should be created as a separate comma-separated file on an android device. So each time when the table gets updated with new entry and clicks a submit button, a new file is getting created on the device file system. So I am looking for the file connectivity to the internal device memory where I could open the files and access it.
I have done the same in Nokia mobiles using J2ME. But for Android, I am not able to find the device file path.

now i want to restore it but it just stuck when i power on my phone.
OK the system folder was deleted on the Impression 10. It boots but gets hung on the "Impression" logo. I hook it up to the computer, the computer recognzes it but I cannot access the files on both the SD Card nor the internal memory. Android Commander and ADB cannot access it. I have the stock system image file from leader, I also backed-up my system folder. how I can push the files from the computer to the tablet or is it too far gone?
