i was trying to make a CWM recovery for the device. i managed to flash the CWM recovery but i was unable to access to,i was getting Secure booting Error,but the phone booted as normally does,well i has a notification to update the software via OTA,so i decide to update it,but before that i downloaded OTA root keeper,in order to keep root,made the SU backup and unrooted the phone,after i tought,well im ok i update the phone then i keep the root,but i forgot that i have flashed th eimage with the CMW recovery,so i got stuck in bootloop,and by the way if i connect the phone via USB and turned off i enter into CMW recovery, strange,but i cant do anything,i cant flash via KDZ i can use ADB but i dont have SU permissions.

Easiest method to have this recovery for a rooted phone is below.
1.Install mobile uncle tools from Play Store.
2. Place the recovery.img provided in root of SD card.( Rename the recovery file as simply RECOVERY.IMG)
3. open mobile uncle tools and flash the recovery.

Feb 12, 2010I took unrooted my phone today because I was going to excange it for a new one because of a loose headphone jack but it turns out it was my headphones. Aug 9, 2010I hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.

Aug 11, 2010ok, so I put the PB31IMG file on my sdcard, and the dinc_ota. I changed dinc_ota to update. (I did not name the file update.zip.zip) I powered down, I entered bootloader, and it loaded the PB31IMG and whatever. then I hit volume down and selected recovery. this brought me to clockwork recovery. I noticed the isntructions said to boot into STOCK recovery. well, I like a dummy ignored that and tried to apply the update.zip thru clockwork.

So, is this because I tried doing it through clockwork recovery? is it because I didn't apply the first OTA update we got? what does that mean exactly anyways? is it saying I need to install the leaked froyo ROM, and then update the radio? How do I boot into stock recovery and not clockworks recovery? does this count as applying the update.zip once, meening if I do it again I'll brick my phone? should I sell this thing and get a samsung flip phone because I'm too stupid to own a Dinc?

Aug 24, 2010First off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.

Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.

Nov 26, 2013I'm long term world traveler who uses my galaxy s2 phone for everything. After leaving a country I move the photos from my phone to Facebook and a usb key. Unfortunately my phone rebooted while I was moving photos to my external usb memory key and seems to have corrupted it in the process as it says it is now blank. It contains approximately 20 GB of files so didn't have enough time to delete them they must still be there but the directory or something damaged. I have plugged the usb stick into a laptop which also said it was empty or corrupted. recovery app I can load on my Galaxy S2 (Android device).

May 19, 2014I recently rooted my HTC Droid DNA and without thinking flashed a kernel while using the stock Android KitKat. I can no longer turn on my phone. When I try it just gets stuck at the HTC screen. Since the DNA doesn't have an SD card I can't plug that straight into my computer to put a rom on it and then flash it through the recovery. I am using TWRP and have tried to use ADB sideload but my computer keeps saying device not found. I am using windows 8 by the way. I just want to either flash the stock kernel or flash a custom rom so that I can actually use my phone again.
Edit: I can also use windows 7 if needed.

Apr 15, 2014I have a Samsung Galaxy S Plus where, after flashing CWM with Odin, and installing cm11, I'm stuck on an infinite boot animation. But that is not the big issue. I need to enter Recovery Mode, where I have a backup, but the problem is that my Volume Up button is not working, so I can't use the Power Button and Volume Up(I also don't know what could possibly wrong with it) one to get there. So I was wondering if there is some other method to enter Recovery, I suppose by computer. I think that when I used Odin, the device restarted being in Download Mode, and I think that it hasn't to be On to do that.

Oct 7, 2012I guess as I rooted my att GS3 just fine and flashed a new aokp rom and was up and running but started to have intermittent flickering. It prompted me to reflash rom with CM10 and this is were my problems began. I wiped data/factory reset, cache partition,Dalvik cache, mounts & storage format cache, and accidentally format emmc which I think is my problem. I was able to still reboot to CWM recovery but I can't do much more than that, and now I can't get to CWM recovery mode at all. Have tried to boot and reflash from ex/sdcard no good. PC doesn't recognize phone to do recovery from backup and I didn't do internal backup which I now know was dumb. Is there anything I can do to get back up and running or did I screw myself and have to get a new phone?
