General :: How To Find Suitable ROM For MT6575 Based Clones

Jan 5, 2013

i have a Samsung galaxy s3 clone . it was bought from shop in china . dont know who actually made it .

i made its backup with mtkdroid root tools 2.3 but its corrupted.

i tried few roms and flashed it with wrong preloader and dsp_bl .. which gave me total brick .. no charging . no display. no detection by pc. after a lot of hit and trial i somehow unbricked it . now it has android 4.0.4 . but it has few problems.

1: Cameras are not working
2: Sim management is greyed out /disabled .. and no imei ..
3: No baseband ..

now since my own created backup is corrupt and this set is not branded so no real way of identifying it how can i find its factory rom ? from which information I can decide whether a ROM is compatible with my device?

all the details along with pics of my set are here ..

These were taken with stock ROM ..

General :: How To Re-Partition Internal Memory Of MT6575 Based I9300 Clone

Mar 8, 2013

I have a SGS3 Clone based on MT6575. All the details about it are here .

I have 503MB /data partition
2.09GB /mnt/sdcard partition (it is internal sd card i cannot physically acces it .. its somewhere inside it ..
13.49GB /mnt/sdcard2 which is external sd card 16GB which i have partitioned for link2sd .. and this is the fat32 partition size
and 1.15 GB /data/sdext2 partition which is on external sd card which i created for link2sd it is ext4 partition ..

So the last 2 are the two partitions on my sd card .

I want to Disable altogether the Internal SD Card of 2.09GB (if that doesn't creates any problem, or if it does creates problem then i want it to be reduced to the minimum) so that all of that space is allocated to /data partition ( or whatever it is which android complains of low disk space .. )

I have red a thread here but that is with refrence to mt6577 and mine is mt6575 . and i do have its backup obtained through mtkdroid tools and i bricked it once and unbricked it as well .. ( when it was bricked it was total brick it didnt even do anything on inserting the charger)

I am attaching EBR1 EBR2 MBR and scatter file of my device which i obtained through mtkdroid root and tools and the prepared for flash with spf option in mtkdroid tools and here is the Hex dump of these files which i obtained using ubuntu.

s@s-desktop:~/Desktop/ebr$ hexdump -C -n 64 -s 0x1be MBR

General :: How To Root MT6575 Phone V2.3.6

Jul 28, 2012

So, I have this MT6575 phone, running on Android 2.3.6

Here's what I have:

[URL]....

This is a firmware that is flashed by sd-card from the recovery mode.

Here's what I am looking for:

[URL]....

This is for a DIFFERENT phone, but also a MT6575 phone running Gingerbread. This root.zip only roots the phone and when you take a look at it, it doesn't really contain much information.

Here's my question: Is is possible with these files provided to make a root.zip for the phone I have the firmware for? I tried my best to create a root.zip by myself but I get a signature verification error message

General :: MT6575 - SystemUI Stopped Working?

Jan 8, 2014

I have just purchased Samsung Galaxy S3 Clone (Mediatek 6575). Its Android 4.2 Jelly bean.It was working perfectly fine only had issue that it's wifi was catching signals really weak. I mistakenly factory reset my phone which cause to no boot up animation. Its just blank when i turn on or off my phone. To fix that i rooted my phone as to get into root files i need to root it.

Since i rooted my phone the issue i am having is it says "System UI Stopped working" , "Touch wizard stopped working". Now what should i do, i am really worried.

I tried going into the CWM recovery but its not going, it was going in stock recovery before now its not even going in the stock recovery its just all blank. Now what should i do, its okay if i don't get the bootup logo/ shutdown logo but atleast i have to remove these errors. How can i unroot my phone ?

My Phone hardware is Mediatek 6575 , android 4.2 jellybean.

When the error "System UI stopped working" appears the background becomes black and the notification bar disappears.

General :: How To Root MT6575 GB Phone (Candy TV)

Oct 21, 2012

I have bought a Candy TV phone locally. Its specs are:

Quote:

Dual SIM
Mobile TV
FM Radio with 3.5mm Stereo Headset Jack
3.5-inch IPS Capacitive LCD
1 GHZ Processor
Wi-Fi b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
Dual Camera with 2MP Main
MicroSD Expandable Storage (up to 32GB)
1300 mAh Battery
Android Gingerbread 2.3

Here are some benchmarks:

Quote:

Quadrant Advanced 1.1.6
Total 1985
CPU 3787
Mem 3053
I/O 1115
2D 1017
3D 954

[Code]...

I have tried:

- SuperOneClick 2.3.1 - Hangs after failing GingerBreak ("Hellions with BLUE flames!). Suggestion in another thread to turn USB Debugging on and off when SuperOneClick hangs did not work.
- The application from UnlockRoot.com - Fails to get shell root
- TPSparkyRoot's batch file - apparently this works with MT6575 ICS ROMs.
- Bin4ry v12 and v15 - again, this is more for ICS/JB based phones
- MTK Droid Root & Tools v2.2.8 - fails to gain root

I have also tried SP Flash Tool (versions v3.1206.01, v3.1208.01, v3.1216.05) to dump the BOOTIMG but no luck. I am getting this error: "BROM ERROR: S_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL (2005) [BROM] Can not pass bootrom start command via USB cable!"

How to root this phone? The phone has very small internal memory - rooting it would enable more efficient space and app management.

I have included the scatter file used by SP Flash Tool for your reference.

Android :: Apps Labeled As Tetris Clones Removed From Market

Apr 7, 2009

I received a message from google saying that my game "Robotic Space Rock" was pulled from the android market after a request made by a legal firm representing an entity known as Tetris Company. My application was removed from the android market together with Blocks, Cubik, Net Tetris, Netblocks and Tetroid (6 apps in total) under claim that it violates the DMCA and more specifically trademarks and copyrighted material owned by the Tetris Company. However, none of the trademarks or copyrighted material (music, graphics and sound effects) are present in my game. Sound effects and music were created by me specifically for the game. There is no reference to the word tetris in the game. Additionally, all the game code, graphics and sound effects were created by me and published on the code site http://code.google.com/p/monolithandroid

Additionally, I am not aware of a software patent covering the game mechanics of Tetris, so I cannot see how I could violate something that is not protected by a software patent. Also, even if the game was protected by a patent, the patent would have expired, since the original game, Tetris, was created 23 years ago. However game mechanics cannot be covered by patents.

I would also like to point out that my game is available completely free of charge to every user of the android market.

I wrote those concerns to Google and I sent an email to the EFF. The bottom line is that for my application to be restored on the android market, I have to send a DMCA counter-notification. And then the Tetris Company can sue and take the case to Court.

When games were pulled from the iPhone App store, they blamed apple, but it is not hard to see that behind application removals we can find companies like the Tetris Company, that demand application removals claiming copyright infringement and trademarks. However, it is not easy to battle these companies as individual developers. I, for example, am a Greek citizen living in Greece, so it is difficult for me to file a counter-notification, because then the Tetris company will probably sue me and I will have to defend my case in court. Why should I bother? Am I making money out of the game? No! But even if I did you can see how easy it is for corporations to neutralize developers like that. I think that something should be done. Independent developers should get together to battle against such misuse of the law by corporations. And to those that want more facts, you can find more details on my blog: [url]

HTC Hero :: Suitable MicroSD Card

This is the card I was thinking of going with, Play.com (UK) - Mobile - Free Delivery But since I've never purchased anything like this before, just wanted to check this is the right thing. It's listed as 'Micro SDHC Plus', but I take it that's just marketing spiel for plain old Micro SD rather than a different type of card?

HTC Hero :: ROM Suitable For Rooting Over Official 2.1?

Oct 3, 2010

I currently have an official orange HTC Hero running on official 2.1. No problems, I actually like it a lot but browsing this sections of the forums, I've seen that people have taken advantage of rooting so. Are there any ROMs that you would pick over the official 2.1 that don't:
Eat battery life
Cause glitches(that are very noticeable)

And can:
be updated to directly from official 2.1

If you have any guides or info or links that are in English, I'd appreciate it if you could show them to me. But the most important thing is whether it's worth it.

Android :: Suitable Minimum SDK Version For APK Files

Oct 7, 2009

We're seeking advice for our application in the Android Market, in relation to nominating a suitable minimum SDK version for the APK files published through the market. We understand that at this juncture there's no facility to provide associate multiple APK files (supporting different minimum SDK versions) within a single listing in the Market.

We have updated our existing application with new Android 1.6 API features and are keen to release it to the Market. However we're concerned about the general availability (and uptake) of version 1.6 firmware and seeking to ensure that we don't inadvertently release an updated APK should there be limited release of this firmware.

Can anyone provide an indication as to how widely the 1.6 firmware has been released? To that end, what are generally acceptable practices for supporting multiple SDK versions from within the market?

Sprint HTC Hero :: USB Wall Chargers - Suitable For Device?

Nov 5, 2009

I'm not real savvy about the power situation for the Sprint Hero that I just bought. The OEM power source says that the input is standard 100-240V. The OEM output shows as 5V=1A. Now, I have other USB chargers (e.g., for my iPod). The input is the same (100-240V), but the output is:
Output: 5.0V=400mA. Can anyone tell me (a) whether this will HARM my Hero, and (b) whether this will effectively CHARGE my Hero? Also Connecting to my computer via the USB cable: does the charge take longer than if connected directly to a wall charger?

Android :: Is Bind Mechanism Suitable For One Shot Services?

Nov 9, 2010

What I need is to perform some network operations in background inside a service. I want them to run in a service because, as pointed out in the "developing rest client application" talk from google io, I don't want to loose the result if the activity is brought in background. What sounds quite obvious is to use an Intent Service, and get the result as a broadcast. In this way I am sure the service will die and no consume any other resources when its done, but I need to convert the actions I want to perform to intents and back. Well, I was now wondering if it makes sense to bind to the service instead, at least for getting the result. And a more general question: is the bind mechanism suitable for one shot services, or it just make sense for persistent services? What happens if I call the startService method but the service is already active? Will it start another service, or will it call the onStartCommand of the same service? I am asking this because if I use "regular" non sticky service, it could happen that I need it to perform some action and I don't know if it is already active (and I don't want to have a queue of action waiting for onServiceConnected to be called.

Android :: Samsung Galaxy Suitable For Development Work?

Aug 25, 2010

I can see that I'm going to have to get an actual phone sooner than later, and for various reasons I'll need to get an "unlocked" version. As long as I'm laying out that many $$$, I might as well get one that I can use personally and shop some apps, etc.So would the Samsung Galaxy S be suitable for development work? I assume that a general unlocked version would have all the expected Android built-in apps and would not have restrictions on what apps can be installed and from what sources. Any comments on this device?(This also assumes that I can actually get one. The effects of that chip shortage that they've been talking about seems to be hitting the supply lines already.)
