I'm having issues with Internet. Google sign-in, Facebook sign-in, Twitter etc I can't go to Google Play for the first time i.e. Accept screen then I can use WiFi to work. nothing works with WiFi if I connect the Data it works. But in browser http sites works fine.
I'm using a Belkin router. I tried 3 different Android's same problem. I tried using Google DNS address still no go. I updated the Routers firmware as well.

I am using ICS Evervolv a5 on my N1. The mobile data connection works only if I don't connect to a WiFi network. If I do, the only way I have found to make it work again is to reboot the phone.
This means that while I am at home, everything works through WiFi, however, if I leave home, I have to reboot my phone once I am sure the phone is far enough from my WiFi access point to be able to connect. Then, it starts working with the cellular data plan
The only thing I can relate to this is that I have the "application protection" app installed, protecting the settings menu do with a code so my kids don't mess up with that. However, is still hard to believe that's the culprit.
My Windows 7 laptop seems to find the barnical network, but when I connect it doesn't seem to work.

I downloaded the official 2.1 update from HTC but as I suspected, no Live wallpapers. My Hero is rooted and I have searched for a good live wallpapers ROM but cannot find one. So i was wondering if there is a good ROM that allows me to have Live Wallpapers while still maintaining Sense UI and 2.1. But I want one thats stable and everything works well (VillainROM is perfect but Wi-Fi doesn't work).
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed the Amazon MP3 App (the one that comes preinstalled with the phone) doesn't work if Wifi is turned on? I've tried it on two wifi networks (home and work) and I can't purchase or download if it's on.
I don't know if it matters, but both networks use WPA2. One is PSK and the other uses RADIUS authentication.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so does anyone know a fix?

a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!
This is something I have wondered about Android OS/Hero/Sprint since day one of my purchase, but I have never brought it up here. When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

1)the phone keeps jumping out of mass storage mode every 2 minuted after i mount it and so transfers get canceled in between
2)wifi does not work it sometimes gets connected to the router and sometimes just says "obtaining IP" and when it connects i cannot access internet. (but it somehow worked once i dont know how)
3) I have to send a message twice to certain people the first message always does not get sent
Has anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.
I have Android pet-project DroidIn which utilizes HttpClient 4 (built into Android) to do some form based authentication. I started noticing that people who are using WiFi are reporting connection problems. It also doesn't help that site I'm accessing has self-assigned certificate. Well - the question is (I'm quite vague on WiFi details) If WiFi at the hotspot doesn't support HTTPS would that be a good enough reason for connection to fail and is there anything that I can do beside proxying into another appserver using HTTP which then would call HTTPS site?

But later, my android phone didn't work and I tried to restore the memory, blow on the two ends of the USB cable, checked on the SD card and blowed on my USB slot and the phones slot.I tried to look up for who had this problem too and someone said about installing kies. After when I installed kies, I found out it is just for transfering files over wifi but I didn't want that.

But when i do "adb reboot-bootloader" the pc just says "the usb device fails to enumerate or something like that. Everything works except for Fastboot and i dont know why. View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have several android devices in the family and only one bluetooth mouse/keyboard. we prefer joining the tablets with hard peripherals when not on the go.
Here's the problem: one of the tablets' screen is burnt out so I have it plugged into a television via hdmi. I can look at the tv to estimate where to touch the tablet to sync up the bluetooth peripherals, but it's tedious and takes too long. We're swapping the bluetooth peripherals constantly so it would be better if the tablet "remembered" the bluetooth devices and didn't need to be paired each time. I realize that bluetooth doesn't work that way, but there has to be a way to do this, or a better way at least.
I'm trying out both the Galaxy S3 and the LG Nexus 4 on AT&T.
When I was using the S3, I just inserted my SIM card and I was good to go. I like to use the Speedtest app when I'm out and about to see what speeds I'm getting, and the app worked just fine on the S3.
Last week, I got the LG Nexus 4 and inserted the SIM card and was also up and running. However, the Speedtest app does not work out in the field. It works just fine on my WiFi network but, when I try it outside, it just gives a large ping number and then does nothing. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Speedtest app, but still nothing.
I don't know why but my google sync stopped. I used to have this several times a day the last days but now it seems to be permanent.

I wanted to get into recovery mode (Vol Up + Power) but I get an android with a red triangle and did not display any options.Get the manufacturer to install ROM from SD but since I can not go into recovery mode I find it impossible.Know it's a generic Chinese tablet but how I could do to get it working again.

I've disassembled it, but i can't find the viber engine, maybe is missing?
Once you have turned on GPS, when you turn it off later, sometimes it doesn't really turn-off even if the quick setting tile says it is turned off.

I turned GPS on, opened Tinder, used it for few minutes, closed it and turned off GPS, removed Tinder from recent apps.
Next night, I see Tinder is the top battery consumer, with 1 day 9 hours of GPS use. GPS shows up as ON the entire time in the battery graph; while GPS tile is "off" in quick settings as well as locations services is also set to off.

I had seen exactly similar GPS hogging from Facebook and Maps too.
This exact same thing happens with Wi-Fi too. I had turned off Wi-Fi at night before going to sleep. But after returning from work the next day, I see in the battery graph that the Wi-Fi was on for the entire 17+ hours. And it still showed as "Off" in Quick settings tile and Wi-Fi settings page. The Wi-Fi definitely wasn't ON since as soon as I turned it on via QuickSetting tile, I got a flood of notifications. But there was considerable amount of battery drain, which is unusual when everything is off. Makes me think that the Wi-Fi was in fact ON. So, when I had turned Wi-Fi off at night, the phone only disconnected from the hotspot but still remained on.

i have to press back like 40 times to get home.
i can't use my phone properly.
i tried a hard reset, formatted SD card
i have stock 2.1 hero downloaded the update today, but i had this problem likebefore the update but it wasn't as bad. if i could go back to the old verison like whatever was released today, the one before it that would be cool..
But my microphone for the HTC One SV doesn't work outside phone calls or the default voice recording program. Other programs like Skype or TinyChat don't seem to be picking up the microphone, I can receive sound from others just fine. But they can't hear me for some reason.

I ported paranoid android from the desire HD to the thunderbolt and almost everything works fine except for the mic and speaker during calls. I have tried everything I can think of with my limited knowledge and was putting this here to see if some more seasoned devs may provide some insight. I'm hoping like hell this isn't kernel related but I seriously doubt it is. Data works fine and so does mms/SMS. I did have to port the ril from our limited ics roms we have to get data.
