General :: Putting Limit On Max Number Of Apps That Can Stay In Task-switcher Cache?
Mar 24, 2012how about putting a limit on the max number of apps that can stay in the task-switcher cache? or allowing selectively selecting which ones stay in the memory N others like tools n utilities frontends (like cpu spy, callrecorder, camera, setcpu no frills, etc) should get the heck out of the cache.
the ideal would be to have only 4 real-app (not utility/tool) [not]processes /cached tasks/ at max for 512mb fones (like my xperia s) and maybe 6 for 1gb ones.

Jul 2, 2012I have the Samsung SGS3 running on ICS and I am looking for a possibility to invoke the stock TW app switcher (the one that appears when you keep the home button pressed) via a homescreen widget/button/whatever.
One of the other launchers I've tried (was it Go launcher or Apex?) had such a button at the homescreen: When pressed, the action launched the app switcher.
General :: Boot Loop After Running ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher App On Galaxy Gio GT-S5660M
Nov 3, 2011in an attempt to get "adhoc" network support,I did the following installed and ran "Smart WiFi Scanner" which recommended, and I installed some "WiFi Library" to support adhoc networks
I uninstalled the library app. installed and ran "ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher" (the app requested root access, I granted it, then the system shutdown abruptly - i.e. immediately off, not normal shut down)
I turned the phone back on, and tried running the "ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher" app a second time again phone turned off instantly.Now it boots up, system is fully running and loading home screen etc. but then reboots after about 7 seconds, and just continues in this loop.

Jul 18, 2010So I have Launcher Pro, and I don't always want to use it but I want to every now and than, so I downloaded Home Switcher. I have Regular home set as default, and it shows it is. But when I hit home it always goes to Launcher Pro. I have checked under Applications to make sure it wasn't set as default or anything and it is not. So my question is anyone else having this problem? Or does anyone know how to fix this without just un installing Launcher Pro and reinstalling every time i want to use it?

Sep 4, 2010I decided to install Launcher Pro and Home Switcher last night. Since Launcher Pro's contact button didn't work, I decided to un-install LP. *In case you're wondering, each time I clicked on the Contacts icon/button of LP, I would get an error pop-up saying that it was unable to launch (something to this effect.) Anyway, after I un-installed the LP I decided to also un-install the HS - with using just having to use TW - I figured I don't need HS anymore. So I removed HS from my Applications, but I am STILL getting the pop-up window each time I go to my home screen! So annoying! How do I get this off my home screen? I am trying to avoid doing a Factory Reset, because I don't want to have to input all my contacts manually again! Google didn't sync all my contacts, so this would mean having to start all over on setting up my phone. Unless someone can suggest a contacts backup program to place on my PC?

Aug 25, 2010I have an activity that extends ViewFactory. The activity does nothing more than act as documentation for my app, with 5 different 'views'.
Each view is placed inside a ScrollView in a TextSwitcher. The problem that I am facing is that if one of the five views has more text than the next view, there is empty scroll space.
Any ideas on how I can get rid of this space?

Oct 28, 2010When i use Home Switcher to switch homes (htc Sense and Launcher Pro) when i go to the app and click use sense as default when i press the home key it still goes back to launcher pro..so when i use sense i need to try to not press home which is annoying! Also i have hand cent sms and i get a double notification. for some reason when i go to messages>menu>settings n go to unchecked received notifications i still for some reason get notifications from the stock. I even went to make sure its unchecked and it is!

Nov 7, 2009I've been using Task Panel X and Advanced Task manager to kill unneeded tasks and keep memory at a maximum.
Recently, every time I open Task Panel X and then revert back to Home screen I get the HTC logo and then a loading screen while the device sets itself. This happens even if I kill NO tasks.
So my solution was to uninstall Task Panel X and then use just Advanced Task Manager. All the sudden, same result.
Everytime I open either of these apps and then go back to home screen I get a BLACK SCREEN WITH HTC LOGO, THEN A BRIEF (10 SECONDS) LOADING SCREEN. THEN ALL IS NORMAL.

Aug 25, 2012I'm writing an android program for adding task and deleting task in listview. I've add an onClickListener to the delete button so it can delete the task. However I was told I should not have the listener in the adapter violating mvc. how I can remove a task in my TaskListItem class. I got the method removeTask() in the adapter, but don't how I can use it in the TaskListItem class.

HTC Droid Eris :: Using Home Switcher To Make Calls / No Sound Heard When Connected
Mar 21, 2010I tried using home switcher to make calls but the same problem occurs. I can make a call, If I try to make a call after, the phone will lag on dialing then if it does connect I can't hear. If I receive a call it will answer but no sound. This happened after 2.1. I even did a factory reset and followed the upgrading instructions, everything else is fine except for this.

Oct 15, 2009Looking for a guide on how to use task killer. I had task killer on and deleted it. I think I was killing tasks that were needed to keep certain functions running that I use frequently. If someone would take the time to help me understand how to use one, I think I would be much more successful with it.
example - text messaging just stopped ( werrent receiving them ) . Once I took task killer off, everything started working again.

It has a simple UI, and the when you select or unselect apps it remebers it so next time you launch the app you can only remove the apps that you usually do, and keep ones that always run. It doesn't slow down or break the system.

Jan 28, 2012I am a fairly seasoned root user, although I have a lot of research to do for ICS. I am running the IceColdSandwich ROM and thus far only one crash, to be expected! I have the CPU oc'd to roughly 1.76ghz with smooth results. my question is... are task killers, any to speak of, safe for ICS? I realise that a solid killer is built in but...always curious. all comments welcome and NICE to have ALL features working on my Inspire 4G with an ICS 4.0.3 ROM.

it started when i wanted to turn it to look like JB ,, intalled launchers , widgets , lockscreens ...etc
then i replaced the file : " systemui.apk " with a mod one ....
after i rebooted i found that many things crashed .... like :::
- My statusbar/notifications bar .
- i cant open task manager when long pressing home .
- my background turned to Black ,,, and just black cannot change to another ,, when i do so nothing changes it keeps black
** i tried arctools to show the status bar but nothing happened ,,
General :: Use Task With OK Google On Nexus 5
Nov 29, 2013I want to link the "OK Google" phrase that starts a Google Now search on the Nexus 5 to Tasker, or more specifically the AutoVoice plugin for Tasker.
I can attach the swipe up from the bottom to use AutoVoice rather than Google Now , but I cannot figure out how to make the phrase "OK Google" use AutoVoice.
I read that on the Moto X you can use Tasker to watch for the "Touchless Control" App to become active, and then kill it and start AutoVoice. But the Nexus 5 doesn't have the Touchless Control App, In fact I don't know what process or App is actually listening for the "OK Google" phrase on the Nexus 5.
