I have HCL Connect 2G 2.0 hang with Google lock I tried for update with SD card update is success but same hang with Google lock.
I have a G300 and today i have installed a Cyanogenmod ROM.
The problem is that none of the google services appaear to be able to connect despite the presence of a working internet connection.
Even the Playstore display the famous "no connection...retry" message.I have tried to rebbot....factory reset...checking if the time is correct.
The host file in the etc folder display only the line 127.0.0.1 localhost line.what i have to do?
I couldn't update or download any new apps from the Google Play store, + everytime I try to connect to it, it says Connection Timed Out.I can browse the internet through chrome fine, but I can't use Youtube, or Play anymore. I've tried reseting it and switching to a different account.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, I changed the time zone on my phone to Moscow. I did change it back, but every time I try to access the Google Play Store, it says "No Connection". I have a Droid Razr HD. I have tried clearing the cache already. It has been like this for about a week now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung S3 had broken power switch (hypersensitive) and it's fixed now - they did factory reset etc and now that I am trying to set up things back I cannot connect to my google account - it says that I have input incorrect login details but I am 100% sure its correct because it works on PC. I did password reset from my cell.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy problem: Google Play Store AND several other app (e.g. RUA2) aren't able to connect to the internet.
What I did: Tried to clear cache, reinstall Play Store ect. did factory resets (yeah, I did it twice).
More Problems: - After a factory reset several Google services and apps crashes (e.g. Keep; there're multiple notifications), an error message appears: Google Calendar seems to malfunction.
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.3.
Google services on my PC works perfectly fine, but there is something wrong with my network, google apps wont connect on any device connected to my home modem. I have tried it on my Phone, tablets, on my brothers phone, it just wont connect. However, when I connected my phone with the network of my University, I worked the first time but the second time, same no connection problem.

All was working fine last year and had installed all my apps etc but recently tried to connect to the Market/Play Store to install other apps and it hung for a while then gave me the error:
Quote:
There was a network error while trying to sign in to <gmail username> Retry now or press Back button to cancel
I have internet access from the browser etc but just not Market and Gmail.
I have tried clearing the app data and even done a full wipe.
According to the 3G data icon it's trying to send data but receiving nothing back and it just times out.
Any way to get Google Now as (not the shortcut) a widget or on your lock screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Galaxy Note with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, unlocked. I got it three weeks ago, and not once have I managed to get Google Talk to log in... except when I'm using wifi. On wifi, it's totally fine. But try to use it on the data connection, and it just refuses to log in. No errors, no explanations... it just goes grey and nothing will happen. I use Google Talk constantly -- it's really making me regret giving up my old T9 Nokia, because at least that ran Google Talk properly. I'm tearing my hair out over it, and I can't find any support anywhere -- the product forums for Talk have been dead 18 months, the blogs for it even longer, there doesn't appear to be any support email address...
I don't really know what other useful information I can provide. There's no error message to describe. Every other app works perfectly fine over the data connection, including Trillian (connecting to the exact same Google Talk account) and Gmail. Never had a problem with anything else. I have tried removing that Google account from my own and re-adding it. I have tried force-stopping and disabling the Google Talk process and clearing its data (though the option to clear its cache is greyed out). Neither brings any chance. I've tried double-checking my APN settings; the only two I have are the currently-used one and the MMS one. I've called my service provider and asked if they maybe blocked any ports or anything; they haven't. I have made sure that Google Talk wasn't set to 'restrict background data' in the data manager; it wasn't.
What could cause this? What can I check?
whether the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L can get the Google App Store, even though it comes vanilla with the (really, really bad) Amazon one. I've got it rooted, and tried to run the included Google Play install script. However, it seemed to be made specifically for Allwinner A10 tablets.
1. Will this Allwinner A10 script work with the VisualLand Prestige Connect 7L?
2. If not, is there another way I can get the Google Play appstore on my tablet?
Specs:

got my phone (htc desire x) locked again (yes, I am stupid sometimes ).First time it wasn't a big problem to me, just adb into it an set a pattern value to 0 an boom, lockscreen bypassed. Problem : since then, the androidversion got updated from 4.0 to 4.1 and it doesn't work any more.
My situation:
Bootloader locked.
Not rooted.
no custom recovery installed.
USB debugging enabled.
is it possible to bypass the Google lock screen on an android 4.1 device? Tried different funny things like pushing home button or calling myself, then some more komplex ways with adb commands and so on, but all of them lead me in the end to either a custom recovery or root.if there is a way to get a CR on an locked device? Or how to adb pull some files from the data section? And I read something about adb'ing into the device in recovery and removing the security settings, what about something like that? I don't want to steal anything, if I would like to steal the phone, I would just resetting it
I am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
Is it possible to lock widgets so that changes cannot be made to the 4.2.2 lock screen?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have spent two days trying to decide on a way to upload and download data to the Google App Engine. Do I use REST or simple HTTP post/get? Do I use JSON or XML? Do I use java or Python. I am thinking probably use python and probably use REST. But which one out there? There are so many to choose from. None seem to work out-of-the-box, but need faffing around with bits of code from here and bits of code from there. And is not clear at the outset what am taking on or what the limitations are.

I'm getting a HTC Eris OS 1.5 in not getting it through Verizon i plan to flash to Cricket. I know i can get talk/ text/ mms/ Wap. I was wondering if it was possible to have it connect to Google Maps and Market as i heard it may not be possible. Any fix yet? Any solutions?
Also i want to upgrade the OS to 2.1 since i dont have Verizon would it be best i upgrade it myself by placing the Zip in to SD Card and updating through there.
Would updating the OS interfere wit it being flashed to Cricket? Which should i do first? OS upgrade or Flash to Cricket?
Was wondering if anyone has noticed a problem with the Google News & Weather widget today? I installed this on my EVO (Genie Widget.apk) because I love its simplicity and elegance, but today it's telling me "Sorry, unable to connect. Please try later" with a "Retry now" button. Just wanted to know if it's only my phone or everyone's? I tried rebooting, also tried stopping and uninstalling/reinstalling but to no avail. If it's happened to other people before and there's a trick to fixing it, that would be great to know too.
View 24 Replies View RelatedHi fellow Android users Im a newbie to this Android stuff! recently i purchaced the sony xperia x10a and soon after i rooted the device. Now i have all sorts of issues with my phone while on 3g I cant connect to any of my google services like mapps the store and so on, but when im connected to wifi everything seems to connect fine. And another thing i cant connect to voicemail on my phone now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to KitKat last night and now my RAZR HD will not display the correct time nor connect to Google. I can't fix either issue and haven't found an exact issue after several hours of searching on the internet. Not surprisingly, Verizon store dude has never seen the issue and has no clue.
After the upgrade completed the date and time on the phone were February 23rd, 2014 about 3 PM (upgrade finished 5/25 around 9pm) and none of the Google related tasks, apps, functions would work. This includes the search at the top of the home screen, email wouldn't sync, search in Chrome would not work, could not switch over to my 2nd gmail account, Play Store would not work, etc.
Time and date would not update manually nor via the system. I turn off the auto update and enter the time or date manually and it does not update. Current time and date stay. I have rebooted and did a factory reset with no change. When I try to add my existing Google account after the reset, I get an error message stating "Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services." I have a data services turned on.
Before I cleared the cache and app data for Chrome, the message I would receive when I tried to do a search or go to any Google.com URL said something about the SSL and couldn't make a connection.
My GPS takes significantly longer to get a lock after the update to Google Maps 3.2.1. Anyone else notice this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to go to the play store on my tab to update an app I had but I couldn't connect to the store at all. So I went to the my account under the in the settings app and I saw that its been having some sync issues. I kept retrying the sync but it kept failing. So I deleted the account off of my tablet and tryed to log back in. Now it won't even log in and its telling me it can't establish a reliable connection to the server and takes me to the WiFi options in settings.
I dont know whats wrong. My internet works perfectly fine. I can surf the web, watch videos, download and even play apps that require an online connection on my tab but I can't use any Google services for some reason.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo before I start, let me say that I have tried this on my wife's Vibrant and my own captivate I get a lock immediately in google maps.
After seeing skyhook in the LbsTest settings I decided to look further into what skyhook is. I read the article below: Samsung to Put Skyhook on Mobile Devices - Midmarket from eWeek
So I thought hey... there are lots of wifi networks around where I live I wonder if it would help if I turn my wifi on.
I get an almost instant lock accurate to 50 meters (good enough for navigation). I have tried it over and over and when I turn off wifi, I get an accuracy of 1700 meters. Turn it back on and get accuracy to 50 meters.
It works indoors and out.
I just noticed that for this to work YOU MUST HAVE "USE WIRELESS NETWORKS" CHECKED under location and security then turn on Wifi (you don't have to connect to any networks). My guess is it narrows down your location based on Cell tower triangulation, then uses wifi to narrow it down.
Here is a blury, crapy, video I made of it:

I just noticed yesterday accidentally that you can press and hold the search button on the lock screen and perform anything Google Voice Actions is capable of. I am using a Droid 2 unrooted. This may affect the Droid X as well. This is a huge security flaw in Motorola's modified pattern/PIN lock screen. Hopefully this thread garnishes enough attention so that this can be patched soon! Steps to reproduce:
1. Lock your screen
2. Press and hold the search button "magnifying glass"
3. Speak any voice action and the phone will respond. Note: you will not get any visual or audible cues (in Google Voice Actions) that it is working, but it is!
I have a small test Android Project used to test the MediaPlayer class.
For this project, usually after a few builds, the compiler gives this exception:
Conversion to Dalvik format failed with error 1
I've narrowed this down to Google Chrome locking the generated .apk file (in /bin). So, the build is unable to remove that APK to rebuild.
Sure enough, quitting Chrome, solves the issue.
This is bizarre, isn't it! Why would Google Chrome be grabbing a lock on that file?
I have never had this error with any of my other projects.
