I am running a cm10 based Rom on my note 2 and as such can't move apps to the sd card through the usual channels. I was able to get my play music cached songs to store on the external sd and any way to do the same for Google Play magazines as they take up more room.

Missing apps: Google Play Movies and TV, Magazines, Ears, Books.
Now in the JB some apps come preinstalled. Unfortunately they don't show up in the drawer but when I try to reinstall them, I get the error message that the application already exists. When I go to system/apps, they are listed there. I have market-enabler installed with the market set to the US. I can see all categories and can install the apps through Google Play (browser) on the phone. But I still get the same error message.
Is there a way I can unhide them and use them?
i bought samsung galaxy s wifi 5.0 with 8 GB ram on SD and 32GB on external SD i downloaded games like MC 3 GT racing backstab and asphalt 6 but my SD memory is not enough for this apps (and another apps) how i can move the data files of the games to external SD and still play theme?

The ultimate solution seems to be moving download cache to the SD card (symbolic link). The problem is that the download cache with ICS and Google Play isn't located in /cache/download anymore, and I have been unable to find where it is located both searching with Google and browsing the filesystem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 and have to say I absolutely love it! As I'm in the process of customizing it one thing I noticed is that there are no toggle widgets for independently turning on or off 3G or 4G as needed. I came from an HTC EVO 4G that had those widgets built into the Sense interface which worked great so that when I was traveling I could use 3G only if I was in that area or switch off 3G and goto 4G (WiMax), or switch off both when I was at home with an Airave.
I've looked throughout the Note 2 running android 4.1.1 and am unable to find any such widgets. I did download Power Widgets and Widgetoid but both seem inadequate by not effectively turning the radio on or off. Rather they take me to the screen to turn off the radio inside the android settings.
any good widgets that will turn the radios on/off with the simple press of the icon?
I download apps from play store, amazon appstore and other places..
When I restart my phone, Some apps (no matter where are they from (play, amazon, etc.)) They stop working.. they dont work anymore.. and I will have to re install the apps again and loss all data
And also some apps that still work, they start like its the first time I am starting them and all data in them are lost..
I tried multiple things to fix this like I factory reset my phone and also tried to flash new version of stock rom but I still have this problem.

Now I wanna flash CM10 on my my device and was wondering, if I create a Nandroid backup before flashing, can I restore my apps and data after I flash it? I mean, am l gonna still be able to retain previous messages, whatsapp conversations, game scores etc...
As translate now offers offline translation I want to move that big amount of data to external SD if this is possible. I am on 4.2.2 custom AOKP ROM .

I just got my Galaxy Note 2 replaced under insurance. I am trying to get functionality back that I had before.
I used to be able to say something like: "Remind me to call so-and-so tomorrow at 1pm".
And it would work flawlessly and alert me at that time. How I get this functionality back.
Does it have something to do with Samsung's calendar app? It works find for alarms, but it also used to utilize the calendar.
A friend of mine set a password on his Galaxy Note and then he forgot it.Now, I know the solution is to access recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
BUT unfortunately he has lot of pictures and videos stored in the phone memory, not on SD, and he'd like not to lose all of it.
Is there a workaround for that? The Note is stock, but I can work on it, if there's a way to unlock the phone without losing data.

I'm running a Galaxy Note with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, unlocked. I got it three weeks ago, and not once have I managed to get Google Talk to log in... except when I'm using wifi. On wifi, it's totally fine. But try to use it on the data connection, and it just refuses to log in. No errors, no explanations... it just goes grey and nothing will happen. I use Google Talk constantly -- it's really making me regret giving up my old T9 Nokia, because at least that ran Google Talk properly. I'm tearing my hair out over it, and I can't find any support anywhere -- the product forums for Talk have been dead 18 months, the blogs for it even longer, there doesn't appear to be any support email address...
I don't really know what other useful information I can provide. There's no error message to describe. Every other app works perfectly fine over the data connection, including Trillian (connecting to the exact same Google Talk account) and Gmail. Never had a problem with anything else. I have tried removing that Google account from my own and re-adding it. I have tried force-stopping and disabling the Google Talk process and clearing its data (though the option to clear its cache is greyed out). Neither brings any chance. I've tried double-checking my APN settings; the only two I have are the currently-used one and the MMS one. I've called my service provider and asked if they maybe blocked any ports or anything; they haven't. I have made sure that Google Talk wasn't set to 'restrict background data' in the data manager; it wasn't.
What could cause this? What can I check?

i was trying to connect my pen drive with on the go cable to the phone and was unable to access any data on pen drive whereas i tried again with my friends global version of galaxy note available in india and it was accessing the data on pen drive.Do my Galaxy Note i1717 supports accessing data on pen drive.How could i access it if possible,
when I want to stream one particular song I noticed that the Google Play Music app downloads and caches the previous/next few songs for quicker access. How can I prevent this? It uses a lot of data and I usually only want to listen to the one song I chose to stream.
For example if I play a 6 mb song i noticed it uses about 40 mb to stream just that one song. Then I selected a different song to stream and immediately went into settings > download queue and noticed it was loading more songs than the one I requested. I only want to listen to the 1 song I chose, so how can I prevent the other songs from loading? As far as I can see there is no way in the app's settings but there has to be another way to stop this inconvenience.
P.S. I have a T999 galaxy s3 running on stock rooted ICS
For some reason I'm not getting my phone read buy play store I have the galaxy note 2? I know grand theft vc is compatible with the phone and I already purchased it some time ago.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using an android smartphone(galaxy y) and didn't have any issue until Thursday(20/9/2012) . google play is not loading in my laptop(connected through broadband) , nor on my phone (connected to internet via wifi ) and i have another laptop which is connected through a modem. On both the laptops when i go to google play it just keeps loading for a minute or two and then shows "webpage not available" On my android when i go to google play it says "no connection" . I have tried restarting the phone but it didn't work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI signed in to Google Play using my own personal email address, as I figured that would be the easiest way to manage my account. Lo and behold, a year later there are now four Android devices on my Google Play account (my S3, a Nexus 7, a 2013 Nexus 7, and a Kindle Fire running AOSP). When setting up these other devices, I could not figure out how to set up my account for only Google Play. I have sync disabled for things such as GMail and Hangouts, but they can still manually switch to my account in the respective apps. I have Googled around and cannot find any solution, though I think some of that may have to do with me having no idea how to word my search queries. Is there any way to set this up, or will I have to make an entirely new Google account for the entire family? I have not purchased many apps (no more than $30), but the two Nexuses (Nexi?) that are not rooted will lose all of their app data.

I'm new to Android. This is my first Android phone and I love it.
My S4 is the i9505 UK/international 4G/LTE model - using the Three UK network.
My samsung galaxy S3 is brand new and it wont download apps from the play store it gets to about 30% and then it stops everytime. if i connect to the wifi it works np, the wierd thing is it will let me update my apps on the mobile network but not download a new one. I have tried updating the phone, factory reset, stopping framework and removing google id and restarting the phone. I also tried putting my sim card in another Samsung Galaxy S3 but it still wouldn't download i then tried calling virgin and getting them to send me the apn details which i then installed but this was unsuccessful, so i went to the virgin store and they told me to get a new sim card, so i did but still it dosent work!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago I flashed the Google Play Edition ROM on my Verizon S4 and when I did I had no LTE. So I fiddled around with the radio and mobile setting for a while but every time I would change it to either LTE/CDMA/GSM or LTE/CDMA it would change back to GSM/CDMA. Eventually somehow I got it to connect to LTE then never touched it. But one day I had no service and couldn't figure out why until I checked the radio settings again and saw that it was connected to GSM/CDMA. I changed it back but to LTE/CDMA but when I exit out of the radio setting it just resets back to GSM/CDMA.

"Incompatible with other applications using the same shared user id." It comes with the Maps, too. I cant find a solution to the problem. There are some, but I dont want to flash another ROM. I re-downloaded the latest .apk for the play store, installed it, and when I open it, it crashes and says "unfortunately, google play store has stopped". I looked up tp see if there were any solutions, and many sources said to gp to settings>app. management>google play>force stop, clear data, clear cache. that didnt work. I tried installing older play store apk's, all giving the same error.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a samsung galaxy gio GT-S5660M Android version 2.3.4 build number GINGERBREAD.MUGKG3 (Stock rom gingerbread ) but it is rooted. ok so i was trying to free up some space on my internal memory and i was using titanium back up and i converted google play to a user app (it took too long so i assumed it didn't work) but i backup the google play. i was able to move it to sd card thought ,but then i still don't have enought free memory to receive text msg (20mb needed) so i did a factory reset which freed up everything. and i was still rooted ( i fixed it) but now google play won't open it gives me this message (process com,android,vending) so i downloaded a new com.android.vending but still won't work i tried the clear data it will open and i can search but whenever i try to download it will force close.

So I have my T-Mobile Galaxy S4 running an unofficial CM11 ROM, and I noticed that battery life seems a little whack, and well Google Keyboard happened to be 2nd place for battery use, and has already downloaded almost 500mb, heck probably 502mb right now. I find that quite insane, and it just keeps going. I feel like this is also the reason why my phone is constantly overly warm. SGH-M919
