I'm a subscriber to Google Music all access. I have a few audio books in my collection and would like to avoid the from playing when I shuffle all my songs. Is there a way to do this without deleting them from my library?

Before the update, I was able to go into a genre in Play Music and shuffle the songs within the genre. Since the update, I don't see an option like this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't think i'm using the right search terms or else no one else cares about this and it's just me i use doggcatcher for my podcasts. when i want to listen to music, i use the music app. but i have play all random, it pulls from the entire SD card, not just the music folder where i have the music. basically, it's just annoying to have the random music playing and then all of sudden a chapter from an audio book or a podcast starts playing, esp when i'm driving. i don't like having to mess with it then. i have also used it to sync with mediamonkey, but if i have more than one playlist that syncs (i have "favorites" and "recently added"), then i can only pick one playlist at a time to listen to. i can't figure out a way to make a smart playlist or anything like that on the eris. i even downloaded that cube 3 or whatever that was on Lifehacker recently - but that doesn't have anything either.

I like to do this so that I can pick the order of songs but I don't want them in alphabetical order while I do it because its the same artist back to back all the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried out a few different music players, cubed, mixzing and the stock music player and I can't seem to figure out if there is any way for the apps to just mix up the order of my albums and play them like that. The shuffle features just mix up all the songs from all the albums, but I want to listen to a whole album at a time, just don't want to pick the order the albums come up in if that makes sense. Is there a way to do this with any music players?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that the stock music player isn't very good at shuffling music? I have my playlist set up, and want it to shuffle while I'm listening at work. It will shuffle, but the problem is that it won't play all the songs on my playlist. I have about 500 on this particular playlist, and in an 8 hour day I will hear the same song 3 or 4 times. In the 3 weeks I've been using it at work, there are some songs that I have *NVER* had come up on the shuffle. I tried turning on just shuffle and not repeat, but same thing. Is there a fix for this, or does anyone have recommendations on a music player that I can download that is better?
** Clarificaion: By "recommendation" I mean more than "Get Product X, it's cool". Why is it "cool"? What makes it better than the other products?
I'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem, but when I have my songs set to shuffle, the player will repeat a set of around 15-20 songs over and over again. I have about 300 songs on my device and I haven't even heard half of them. Is anyone having the same problem? How are people working around this?

It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
I have about 50 gigabytes worth of audio books I have purchased from iTunes over the years. I have read numerous things about people burning mp3 CD and re saving them this is completely impractical for this vast amount of data. It would take months. I have seen I can get a virtual CD drive and do it artificially. Is there a free one that works properly?
Also is there any plans for google play to allow larger file upload for audio book support? it took my cd converted books just fine.
and lastly, Is there perhaps a site I can upload the books to be hosted instead of converting them?
when I want to stream one particular song I noticed that the Google Play Music app downloads and caches the previous/next few songs for quicker access. How can I prevent this? It uses a lot of data and I usually only want to listen to the one song I chose to stream.
For example if I play a 6 mb song i noticed it uses about 40 mb to stream just that one song. Then I selected a different song to stream and immediately went into settings > download queue and noticed it was loading more songs than the one I requested. I only want to listen to the 1 song I chose, so how can I prevent the other songs from loading? As far as I can see there is no way in the app's settings but there has to be another way to stop this inconvenience.
P.S. I have a T999 galaxy s3 running on stock rooted ICS
I copy all my music files into google music on my sd card! They all went away. The only thing that is left is the band title folder, they are all empty inside. Is there any recovery or did I make a huge mistake? sdcard/andriod/data/com.goole.andriod.music..I still have all my "on device music" from google.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have an iPhone 4S and I am probably going to get a Galaxy Note 2 when it comes out for Verizon. In order to prepare for this, I set up Google Play Music to upload my music so it can be ready for me when I get my new phone (I like it better than Samsung's default music player). Only one problem: protected AAC files (or DRM) can't be transferred to Play Music. I tried converting my music with 2 different DRM converters, but they were free trials, and it only would convert 1:00 of each song and then stop. Is there any free way to convert each protected song completely, along with protected videos? Also, does music on Play Music eat up an Android device's space? I have over 12 GB of music and movies and I don't want to have barely any any space left on a 16 GB device if a 32 or 64 GB ever comes out, minus the SD card.

I have chosen for the music to be "on the device", and it plays when even in Airplane Mode, so I know it is not streaming, but the music files do not show up in my "Music" directory tree, or under any other file trees that I can find. I have used ES File Explorer to do a top down search for some of the missing titles, but it doesn't find them. I'm perplexed. There must be a cache somewhere, but I can't find it.

I currently use PlayerPro from the market, and I wanted to use the Google cloud for "wirelessly syncing" my music.
I use doubletwist for listening to new music that is stored on my SD card. I use Google Music for streaming my favorite tracks that I have uploaded. The problem is Google Music automatically searches my SD card and displays all the music stored on my phone along with the artists/playlists/etc. that I have stored on the cloud, which makes it confusing when browsing the library. Can I prevent Google Music from searching and displaying what's on the SD card, but still allow doubletwist to see it?

- Act Player.. does the job but only on Gingerbread (I have a GB Galaxy S phone). On ICS the playlist feature does not work
- Vplayer - does not support shuffle and after 4th or 5th video starts to stutter
- Mobo player - does the job but does not support shuffle and the little monster is getting tired of the first 10 vids she has to watch all over again every day
just trying out Google Play Music today. I'm confused though as I have around 10000 music files sitting in a folder on Google drive. I can't see an option to ask Google Play Music to look into Google Drive and upload the music from there. I have connected my Google play music app on my nexus 7 to my Google account' but nothing seems to happen. Surely Google is able to connect two parts of its cloud together and I don't have to re upload everything?

Now I've been trying to upload a few more playlists. They seem to upload fine and show up in My Library on the GP Music website. However, these songs are not showing up on my Nexus.

This has been a problem since google music first became available. It only seems to sync one way (desktop to cloud). If I delete a song in my music folder it remains in Google music. Same happens if I edit a songs tags. Is there any way to get it to sync both ways. The desktop program says it's "monitoring" my music folder so why is it not deleting songs out of the cloud when I delete them from my desktop?
