I have stock gingerbread launcher and I wanna faster homescreen transitions, and faster entering in app drawer and also how to change icon pressed/focused color on homescreen and in app drawer (I wanna that invisible). I know decompile but don't know where and what to modify.

I am a ROM developer.(Look in my signature). However, I am not quite pleased with holo launcher. I recently discovered an old version of ICS launcher which had A FULLY FUNCTIONAL CLONE OF THE ICS SOFT BUTTON BAR. If any dev here is good at apks and all that stuff, then to add that bottom bar to holo launcher? Apk attached below...

I love CM7. I run it on my Droid Incredible and I wouldn't want to run any other ROM, but since I have the paid versions of both ADW and Launcher Pro I don't have any need for the free version of ADW that comes packed with CM7. I found a mod that replaces ADW with the default Gingerbread launcher, and I've found that I prefer the stock launcher over any of the replacements I've tried. It's fast, minimal, and it just works. My only problem is that launcher2 only has five home screens, and I want seven. A Google search brought me to a version of the stock launcher with seven home screens, and I was able to install it on the latest CM7 nightly, but whenever I pressed the phone icon I got an error message telling me that "this application is not installed on your phone". I tried the launcher on both OMGB and OMFGB with the same results. Is there a version of the stock Gingerbread launcher out there that I can use on CM7 that has seven home screens and a working phone shortcut?

I have a rooted Asus Transformer TF700 and got init.d working. I have it start eBay, Skype and Voice (I found the widget doesn't load until the app is started) with the sleep command in between each to ease the processor.
I would like to add a line at the end to return to the home screen. How I can implement the home button though adb shell?
Was lookign for a better option for my phone other than launcher pro. Was playing around and came across Zeam Launcher on the market.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using ADW because I like the easy cookie cutter themes but I notice it lags sometimes when switching between screens and sometimes icons and widgets will disappear then reappear as the screens load. I tried the free version of Launcher Pro and as I was setting up the screens it felt like it was smoother. But that could have been because I didn't have anything on them yet. I know most people here use Launcher Pro - is it because it is faster or smoother? I can almost get away with using the free version but I need to be able to resize widgets.

After a couple of pinches on the homescreen it speeds up and becomes more smooth tho, but the initial pinch is always laggy for me. I was thinking it could be something in the memory settings of the LP preferences, however upon playing with the settings I come up empty.

View 28 Replies View RelatedHi everyone, so I installed the ADW.launcher homescreen replacement app and love it. The only problem is that I have to force quit my default homescreen (in this case it's called "LG Homescreen")--task-killers won't work and I have to go into the application settings to force it. Fine. But every time I reboot my phone it runs along side of adw and I want only adw when the phone boots. I already set adw as my default homscreen, no change.

(I got it from bais on MoDaCo). It is an apk and it has been tested and proven to work on FroYo and �clair (not sure about Cupcake/Donut). Install through adb or a file explorer. I tried it out, not too bad. Still prefer LauncherPro but I can show this off if an iPhone fanboy talks about how great iPhone UI is. Couple of notes: -To edit bottom dock, go into menu, press edit, this allows you to move icons around between dock and menu. -To edit order of homescreens or # of homescreens, go home, press menu and then edit. Couple of flaws: -Cannot set your own icons for bottom dock (you can change which apps are there but cannot use custom icons). Cannot set a default homescreen.

Are these two different native applications (homescreen and launcher)? Or is the menu that pops up part of the homescreen application.
Further, It there some Intent I could declare in my app that would instruct android to load my launcher / homescreen app instead of the native one, or would this require me to reimplement from source and build a custom platform?
I was usind ADW for a while and liked it. I like LP better because of the scrollable bar bit when I hit the home key or back up to home, about 50+% of the time it takes ten seconds to redraw. I do ude widgets but it should not be this bad. In settings I tried keeping LP in memory, I set high mem useage and many of the other options and its the same. I even uninstalled wiped cache pulled battery and its the same. Is there a setting config I should be using, or not?

I currently run a Nexus 4 (Jelly Bean, CM10.1 Linaro) with a modified framework-res.apk file with ICS transitions.I know how to create animations (I am an android developer) but wouldn't it be cool to implement them on our system?In the anims folder of framework-res.apk you find all of these xmls containing different animations

I saw the TransitionDrawable object that can be represented in XML. Is there a way to connect this into my selector?

In android 1.5 release notes I saw Animated window transitions.
What is this all about ?
IN my application i want to show trasitions if i go from one activity to other.We can set the animation for both activities and call when one is closing and other is opening.
But problem is when , the current animation will stop when the onCreate of next activity is called ?
Means , when activity is pushed to stack , ongoing animation is stopped. Because of this we cannot show a smooth transition effect between activities.
Is it possible to disabled activity transitions altogether and still maintain compatible with 1.5 ?
