General :: Getting Rid Of Mouse Acceleration In Android?
Jun 7, 2014
Has discovered a way to rid of mouse acceleration in android?
Here is a good explanation of what mouse acceleration is:
Without mouse acceleration, the movement of the mouse and the movement of the crosshair will be 1 : 1.
With mouse acceleration, the movement is based on speed. Meaning, if you move the mouse 1 inch, slowly, it'll move one distance. If you move it still 1 inch, but fast, it'll move a lot farther.

I'm looking to increase the speed/acceleration of a bluetooth/usb mouse on my android tablet/phone/any other android device. I've noticed there are no such features/options when pairing the device in honeycomb/ICS (via settings). My device/s are rooted.

In my previous phone Samsung Omnia I could set up mouse pad to be up/down, loft/right highlight/move mode or I set it up as a full mouse capability with the little arrow that I could move just like a computer mouse. Is there a way to set up the full desktop like mouse capability on the Incredible?

I'm getting a Note 8.0 soon and was wondering if I could get a mouse with this. I'm buying a Bluetooth keyboard for sure and was wondering if I could use both at the same time. So my questions are:
- Can you use any Bluetooth/wireless mouse on this tablet?
- Do you prefer Bluetooth or wireless?
- Can I use both at the same time?
- Will using both at the same time eat my battery?

Is there any way to use the Wiimote as Mouse-emulator on Android? I want a mousepointer on my screen that I can move by moving the Wiimote (using the IR sensorbar). When I press A, it should emulate a touch to where the mousepointer is.
I couldn't find a single app that would emulate a computer mouse with the Wiimote. I just know there are plenty for Windows.
I found something: [URL] ..... It says that my device (Sony Ericcson Xperia Neo V) is not compatible with it. Is there a way to make it work anyway? My device is rooted and still has the preinstalled Android 2.3.4.

I want to incorporate some Accelerometer code into a Android application im working and want to see if this is possible. Basically what I need is for the code to detect car acceleration motion. I am not wanting to determine speed with the code but just distinguish if the phone is in a car and has accelerated motion (Hence the car is moving for the first time). I have gone through many different accelerometer applications to see if this motion produces a viable profile to go off of and it appears it does. Just looking for something that popups a "Hello World" dialog when it detects your in the car and its moving for the first time down the street. Any help would be appreciated and a simple yes or no its possible would work. I would also be interested in compensating anyone that is capable of doing this as well.

For windows, you can write a program which moves the mouse pointer and sends keyboard/mouse clicks. Is the same possible in Android?

I have my desk setup with 2 monitors and an Android Tablet sitting in its dock right next to that. I have been doing some research and found a lot of apps that allow you to use the tablet as a monitor for your computer. But that is not what I want to do. I was wondering if there was a way to setup the tablet so that I could move my mouse over from the monitor onto the tablet and control the Android Tablet with my computer's mouse and keyboard in the Android environment. So this way I can run things like Calendar, Email, Hangouts and other apps with my mouse and keyboard just by moving it over from my main displays like I can between a primary and secondary screen.

I have an Iconia A500, running with Jelly Bean / rooted, Cyanogenmod 4.1.2 from Randomblame.
So far so good. As most of you know, this device supports bluetooth mice and USB mice. I am using both kinds of mouse quite often for working in office tools or for the good old ScummVM games.
Every mouse I use only has the left click function. Right click does the same as left click. Is there a possibility to configure the right button? In Office I would like to get the "long press" instead, in the ScummVM Games I would like to get the "default action", wich is highlighted on touch.
If I can configure directly in Android or if I have to use an app.

Can you confirm that the G1's Qualcomm MSM7201 CPU does not support java hardware acceleration? (Re: Android game developers desperately need optimised game engine example code). I'm reading here[1]:
"528 MHz ARM11 Jazelleâ„¢[2] Java® hardware acceleration"
And from what I've read on the net, MSM7201A-a is the dual-core CPU powering the G1. So, can you confirm that Android could be faster, if Android could use the Java, instead of the Dalvik VM, and that this didn't happen because of Sun?

I'm just wondering...on Android Web, I could find two completely opposite ways of defining which direction the positive X acceleration is. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/SensorEvent.html At the bottom, it says "When the device lies flat on a table and is pushed on its left side toward the right, the x acceleration value is positive. " However, http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/SensorListene..., it says "When the device is pushed on its left side toward the right, the x acceleration value is negative (the device applies a reaction force to the push toward the left) "

Any list or link to a list of keyboard and mouse commands for our tablet?
I have a bluetooth mini keyboard* with a built in mouse and I would like to be able to control my tablet from my couch while it is connected to my TV's HDMI. However, I cannot figure out how to do basic tasks with the keyboard. The keyboard is this type: [URL] ......
Also, I'm not sure if the commands are tablet-specific, Android specific, or if they even exist at all. (I have searched XDA and Google, but because I do not know exactly what keywords to use, I am coming up without answers!)
Shortcuts I mainly need:
1-3) The three icons in the lower left of taskbar (they don't appear through HDMI): Back, Home, and the Prev Apps
4) Change homescreens/swipe left and swipe right (I can long click and move the mouse to do this, but it is difficult to do with my mouse since it is a knob type)
5) Long hold
6) Any other commands... heck, let's make a database if it doesnt exist already!
In case it matters: I am using ICS 4.0.3 stock (with root).

I know that a tablet is best used via the touch screen, however I intend to connect my Android Tablet to the TV to watch movies and TV shows from the comfort of the sofa.I've just bought a wireless mouse which works with my Tablet, that is until I want to watch movies or TV shows.
While sat on the sofa, several meters from the TV and Tablet I can control the Tablet with my wireless mouse. No great shakes there but my problems start when I want to watch movies or TV shows. If I watch anything that I captured with my camera or Tablet I can control the aps by bringing up menus so that I can press pause, play fast forward or rewind.
However when I want to watch a movie or TV show I can not find a way to bring up a menu so that I can select pause, play forward or rewind. The only option I get is that when I right click I am kicked out of the movie/TV show and back to the general menu of all my available movies and TV shows.
why I can access playback menus for home produced video but I can't with movies or TV shows?

In my efforts to track down a wake lock that was eating battery, I installed Network Log. I found s something a bit disturbing. WiFi Mouse by necta.us, an app in Google's app store to let your touchscreen act as a mouse, Would
A) not exit after pressing back and hitting "yes" to exit but rather,
B) continue secretly running, making occasional contact with various servers in China. Overnight it contacted 15 different IP address, all of them Whois showing as a variety of Chinese companies with different names and address blocks. Sometimes it would use port 80, usually 224, 226, 226, 227, 228, or 230. This would happen at least every 15 minutes and some of the transfsers were up to 9.7k in length. After exiting, none of the traffic was to my wifi mouse server application. Some of the IP blocks included:
119.161.221.218:226
110.173.1.68:228
42.51.12.84:HTTP
I understand there are legitimate reasons for an app to do this. Perhaps checking a license. But this is downright scary and excessive, especially since it continues after one "exits" the program. My next step will be to install shark and take a look at the packets' contents.
Edit: installed es task manager to kill it, but it's not running. Somehow it's being signaled or on a timer. Next stop is systemcleanup to take a look at its activities and permissions in detail.
Edit 2: had to force stop it, it was running but not showing up in task manager. It's permissions include reading and modifying usb storage and of course full network access.

I've got a cheap Speedlink bluetooth mouse from eBay and it works fine with a PC; it pairs up nicely with my Desire HD (running RCMix3d Runny v1.3 ROM) too.
Oddly however, the icon in the 'bluetooth settings' page is not of a mouse, it's an icon of a keyboard.
Pair it up and there's no mouse pointer; move the mouse to the right and the homescreen moves to the next screen - left and you go to the left screen.
Seems my mouse is recognised as a keyboard, oddly enough only emulating the arrow keys. When running Cyanogen 7, it was recognised as a mouse - so what's different here?
Is there anyway of jimmying Android to recognise my mouse as a mouse and not a keyboard?

I'm using GT N8000 with android 4.1.2 and chroot Ubuntu Raring for my daily work.. I manage to use framebuffer as display WITHOUT turning off android UI using Linux Deploy, all went great but one thing missing is since android and ubuntu shares the same display, input problems pops in, I currently disable s-pen cursor on android so it will work best on ubuntu, as well as bluetooth keyboard.
one thing left out is my Bluetooth mouse, its bugging to have dual mouse pointer on screen whenever I boot ubuntu and each didnt match others in calibration.
if only I can disable android mouse cursor just the way I can disable s-pen cursor in android, this will make a perfect machine.. now I'm stuck using only s-pen as pointing device in ubuntu to avoid erratic mouse behaviour. I understand android have idc as input config, and I've located my dev/input for each devices, I'm looking for a way to disable mouse cursor in android to use it solely on linux.

I have just taken delivery of an Android ADP2, which I plan to use as a development platform, as well as my personal phone. I have played a bit with the on-screen keyboard and have determined that some designer must have much smaller fingers than me, so I am in the market for a keyboard/mouse that works over Bluetooth.
