On my droid x2, when i recieve a text message, it automaticlly scrolls it on the top of the screen without even opening the message. Is there any way to disable this?

in Jelly Bean opening an email in the basic email app and then touching anywhere within the email makes the email quickly scroll down to hide the to/from bar. It's the only place in Android where a single touch causes a scrolling response, so when I open the email and begin to scroll with a swipe, it jumps down and then scrolls which is somewhat disorienting as it differs from how scrolling works in every other app including Gmail.

Everything looks good so far but when it gets to the analysis part, I have to close it because it says "Software update is not supported for this model".
2) For people who did the firmware update, do your text messages get deleted? Since my text messages could potentially be deleted, how do I back them up or save them to my SIM card?
I am looking for an app that would automatically send a text message based on a GPS location. The reason for this app is because I am a vanpool driver and it would be great if I could notify my riders when I am getting close to their house so that they are waiting for me when I pull up. Much better than having to honk my horn and then wait!

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

When I used to get texts on my old phone (LG Dare), the screen would light up for a couple of seconds everytime I received a new text message. With the Droid 2, it seems like I can only make the phone vibrate or make a notification sound. However, when I'm at work, I keep my phone on silent and can't have my phone constantly vibrating on my desk. Is there a way to set the notifications up so that my screen can alert me of a new message? I don't have the time to constantly check my phone for text messages during the day and I think I'm wearing out my battery quicker with the constant turning on and off of my screen to check for new texts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want the incoming message to show up on the home page when it is first received, like the iphone does, it covers a good portion of the screen, for a few seconds even when the phone is asleep, then it goes away until you wake it up. I tried Handcent and I'm now using ChompSMS. With Chomp you get this tiny little ticker at the top of the screen, that is all. Is it possible to have that feature with this phone?

What I am trying to do is align a view to the bottom of the screen, using either a RelativeLayout or LinearLayout, and then wrap that layout in a scrollview to permit scrolling when necessary (for changes to landscape orientation or on small screen devices).
To date, what I find is that anything aligned to parent bottom works great as long at the bottom is visible...but if the bottom is below the scroll, the view that is aligned parent bottom jumps up to the top.
This seems like a very common design for ads that appear on the bottom, so I would think that this is possible. Is it?
I just got my Ally today, and I when I receive a text message I would love to have it show up automatically on my screen. As it is now, when I get a text or email it just makes a faint sound and the screen doesn't even light up. Is there a setting or app I can use to have my texts automatically preview on the screen?

We have deleted the entire thread, and all of each other's contact info, and tried to start over, but it just continues to default to that number. Is there a way to make your phones screen light up when you receive a text message? Also is there a way to set a reminder like every few minutes that you have a text message? Say if you receive a text message while you're away from the phone then two minutes later the phone vibrates or sounds to remind you that you have a new text.

My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
I have a Flying T600, a very well specified Chinese smartphone. It is brand new. My problem is that it often scrolls through various screens all by itself, as if someone else is in control of it. The only thing to do is to switch it off. Do you think the phone is faulty, or possibly hacked?

When entering in text and using the predictive text entry, when you select the word it always enters a space...if you're saving something it will append that space to the end of the filename making you have to hit the "X" Delete key to erase it. Is there any easy way to not have it input the space automatically (didn't see it in settings?).
Also how do you tell it to automatically put a period at the end of the word etc? I've done it by accident before but no idea how I did it!
I have these two apps(in image below) to lock my screen , for a very long time. But i find a bug in both of them. That when i click them to lock the screen the screen turns back on at delay of around .5 sec.
