General :: Downgrading To ICS From JB Not Work
Apr 11, 2013I tried to install JB 4.1.2 from 4.0.4. It installed with a ROM. Only problem: Wifi keeps on error: Turning On. No bluetooth working and no mobile internet.
Any possible way to downgrade? I tried via CWM 5 recovery, but it always says: Can't op xxxxxx.ZIP
Factory Reset doesnt reset the kernel ofc.

The upgrade worked well but now I cannot get on the a mobile network, I cannot connect properly with Bluetooth and I cannot even download apps. My phone has become completely useless. Aug 6, 2010Ever since I got android 2.2 a couple of days ago, I've been having this problem with my text messages where I'm not getting a text until hours after someone ends it to me. I never had this problem before I download 2.2 so I don't think its just a conisidence that it started immediately after I made the upgrade. I want to downgrade back to 2.1 and see if that solves the problem. how would I do this? Would the process be the same as upgrading to 2.2 was? Where would I go to get the 2.1 file?

Oct 16, 2010I am tryibng to downgrade my Hboot from 0.93 to 0.8 and am following this guide:[HOWTO] Downgrade Froyo (2.2) to Stock 2.1 (ANY HBOOT | WIN/LINUX/MAC | ROOT) - xda-developers The reason I amn doing this is because with Unrevoked I get a Validation Error Backup CID Is Missing or words to that effect.I understand that downgrading to an earflier Hboot version would make Unrevoked work and I can then root my htc desire.This is where I have a problem:

Flashing misc partition... mtd: not writing bad block at 0x00000000
error writing misc: no space left on device Flash complete If any error ocurred here, press ctrl-c and run this utility again this I assume is talking about the little space i have ont he phone itself and not the sdcard as I have tried 2 sd cards. I did a factory reset, created the gold card and went throguh the process several times.If I let it go and carry on it goes through a few more things before it finally finishes. Then it reboots my htc desire and a white screen with skateboarding androids shows up, from there in the instructions it tells me to push up for flashing if i do that it goes to the nerxt option which is sim lock and I dont think that is what it is meant to be.If I boot into reocvery the phone freezes at a screen pic of the phone with a gtriangle and exclamation mark and so I take the battery out and reboot that way. Please can someone explain where am I going wrong here?

Apr 25, 2010I decided to try and root to install a custom 2.1 rom on my Telus HTC Hero running firmware 1.5 (build 2.73.661.46 CL#74632 release-keys), but I'm failing miserably! I'm following the goldcard method to downgrade before rooting but every time I create a gold card it fails. I remove the card and either insert it into the phone or PC and both tell me it's unrecognised and needs formatting.
I've tried 4 different micro SD cards (stock 2GB, class 4 4GB, class 4 8GB, generic 2GB) all with the same result. Is this because I'm running Windows Vista or Windows 7 (I get the same result on two different laptops)? If I install XP will I have more luck? Or do I just need to keep spending yet more cash on unneeded micro SD cards? Or just keep trying with the same cards over and over agian? Failing that, I'll buy a prepared goldcard if anybody has a spare one lying around?
Motorola Droid X : Back Button Functionality - Cannot Simply Go Back One Menu Using The Back Key
Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

Sep 5, 2010so i have looked every where, and from what i have been able to figure out is that this error is due to either an SD card not willing to become a goldcard or the RUU i downloaded is incorrect. i downloaded the RUU from bak2basiks page which is what a few of my friends downloaded and worked for them. and i tried to dl it from xda site but that link is dead. so before shooting myself in the face my friend recommended that i try the fountain of knowledge that is androidforums.com. I have the HTC Hero, gsm, on the Telus network.

As soon as the user clicks an item from videolist screen ,he is navigated to buffering screen and then to videoplayer.
In the buffering screen i am using Async task and doing the loading process in on background process.
Now my issue is like the user if has selested a video then gets navigated to buffering screen.But if the user clicks back when he is in buffering screen then initially he is getting navigated to videolist screen but immediately after that again he is navigated to videoplayer screen.
What i would like to have is either the back button should be made disable in buffering or should prevent the player tostart if back is clicked.

I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!

Jul 19, 2010I'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?

May 5, 2010Instead of trying to grab the notification bar and swiping it down, simply start ABOVE the screen and swipe down. Fast or slow makes no difference.
You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.
