View 6 RepliesI tried to install JB 4.1.2 from 4.0.4. It installed with a ROM. Only problem: Wifi keeps on error: Turning On. No bluetooth working and no mobile internet.
Any possible way to downgrade? I tried via CWM 5 recovery, but it always says: Can't op xxxxxx.ZIP
Factory Reset doesnt reset the kernel ofc.
So I've had a Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 for a while but today a friend of mine told me I should upgrade it.So he installed me some new software or something (I'm a total newb at this :/ ) and I'm lost.
I'd like to go back to my old version (2.3.6 from what I've seen I believe it is Gingerbread). I'm stuck in 4.0.4 ICS...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my LG Optimus One from it's original Froyo 2.2 to the newer Jelly Bean 4.1. The upgrade worked well but now I cannot get on the a mobile network, I cannot connect properly with Bluetooth and I cannot even download apps. My phone has become completely useless. Is there a way I can get it back to it's original 2.2 format?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone has froyo 2.2. I downloaded 2.2 from the thread on this site to update manually. I want to downgrade to factory 2.1 When I place the 2.1 update back on my phone and hit update I get the following message:
Install Form sdcard
Finding update package
Opening update package
Verifying update package
Installing Update
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip (Status 2) Installation Aborted How can I downgrade to 2.1 if I get this error? How do I fix this?
Anyone else tried this, all the links for the downloads I need are for a PC and i cant find a way to open them on my macbook pro
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere before, but the forum search feature wasnt too helpful. I would like to downgrade my 2.1 on my Eris back to the 1.5. Because this phone sucks and doesnt even work as a phone with the silent bug with 2.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I got android 2.2 a couple of days ago, I've been having this problem with my text messages where I'm not getting a text until hours after someone ends it to me. I never had this problem before I download 2.2 so I don't think its just a conisidence that it started immediately after I made the upgrade. I want to downgrade back to 2.1 and see if that solves the problem. how would I do this? Would the process be the same as upgrading to 2.2 was? Where would I go to get the 2.1 file?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am tryibng to downgrade my Hboot from 0.93 to 0.8 and am following this guide:[HOWTO] Downgrade Froyo (2.2) to Stock 2.1 (ANY HBOOT | WIN/LINUX/MAC | ROOT) - xda-developers The reason I amn doing this is because with Unrevoked I get a Validation Error Backup CID Is Missing or words to that effect.I understand that downgrading to an earflier Hboot version would make Unrevoked work and I can then root my htc desire. This is where I have a problem:
Checking misc partition
/data/local/mtd0.image: ok
CID retrieved: H3__001
Modifying misc parition image
Flashing misc partition... mtd: not writing bad block at 0x00000000
error writing misc: no space left on device Flash complete If any error ocurred here, press ctrl-c and run this utility again this I assume is talking about the little space i have ont he phone itself and not the sdcard as I have tried 2 sd cards. I did a factory reset, created the gold card and went throguh the process several times. If I let it go and carry on it goes through a few more things before it finally finishes. Then it reboots my htc desire and a white screen with skateboarding androids shows up, from there in the instructions it tells me to push up for flashing if i do that it goes to the nerxt option which is sim lock and I dont think that is what it is meant to be.If I boot into reocvery the phone freezes at a screen pic of the phone with a gtriangle and exclamation mark and so I take the battery out and reboot that way. Please can someone explain where am I going wrong here?
Windows 7 x64
Android 2.1
Hboot 0.93
For those wanting to root, you may want to wait for unRevoked 3.2. It is supposed to be 1-click root and requires no downgrading.
[ROOT] unrEVOked 3.2: one-click root for Froyo, no downgrading - xda-developers
I just spent 2 hours rooting on Friday. Hope this helps folks avoid the hassle.
Is it possible to downgrade the firmware of the x10, I need a legit solution not to void my warranty. Im trying to resolve my wifi and I am about 2min away from throwing the phone in the ocean....
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the last few days I am having to press the back button twice when using both the stock android browser and the latest version of chrome on my rooted S3.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI decided to try and root to install a custom 2.1 rom on my Telus HTC Hero running firmware 1.5 (build 2.73.661.46 CL#74632 release-keys), but I'm failing miserably! I'm following the goldcard method to downgrade before rooting but every time I create a gold card it fails. I remove the card and either insert it into the phone or PC and both tell me it's unrecognised and needs formatting.
I've tried 4 different micro SD cards (stock 2GB, class 4 4GB, class 4 8GB, generic 2GB) all with the same result. Is this because I'm running Windows Vista or Windows 7 (I get the same result on two different laptops)? If I install XP will I have more luck? Or do I just need to keep spending yet more cash on unneeded micro SD cards? Or just keep trying with the same cards over and over agian? Failing that, I'll buy a prepared goldcard if anybody has a spare one lying around?
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
so i have looked every where, and from what i have been able to figure out is that this error is due to either an SD card not willing to become a goldcard or the RUU i downloaded is incorrect. i downloaded the RUU from bak2basiks page which is what a few of my friends downloaded and worked for them. and i tried to dl it from xda site but that link is dead. so before shooting myself in the face my friend recommended that i try the fountain of knowledge that is androidforums.com. I have the HTC Hero, gsm, on the Telus network.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI call WebView.clearHistory(), but I am still able to go back after doing so. I want to reuse a WebView, but I don't want the back button to allow the user to go back further than the current "session" of using the WebView. Anybody know what is the best way to handle this? I thought for sure that clearHistory() would do it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my android application i have a video list screen,a buffering screen and a videoplayer screen.
As soon as the user clicks an item from videolist screen ,he is navigated to buffering screen and then to videoplayer.
In the buffering screen i am using Async task and doing the loading process in on background process.
Now my issue is like the user if has selested a video then gets navigated to buffering screen. But if the user clicks back when he is in buffering screen then initially he is getting navigated to videolist screen but immediately after that again he is navigated to videoplayer screen.
What i would like to have is either the back button should be made disable in buffering or should prevent the player tostart if back is clicked.
I'm roooted. I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?
Instead of trying to grab the notification bar and swiping it down, simply start ABOVE the screen and swipe down. Fast or slow makes no difference.
You can swipe it back up, or simply hit the back button.
how to get back to 4.0.2.A.0.58 ?

Does anyone know what the red line is on the upper left back side of the evo is for? Is that how you take the back off or a slot of some kind? It looks like its directly below the power switch.

It is simple to plug in and copy/paste, but I use SMS backup which backs up all my texts to my Google account. I was hoping that I might be able to do the same sort of thing to my PC with my media?I can't afford to lose any of it and I can't predict when stuff will be lost.
