It has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean installed and I wonder if I can change the quick settings? I want to add a quick setting to activate/deactivate mobile data since it doesn't appear, but it does in other Galaxy phones with the same Android version.

Phone : SGS III
Soft : Stock 4.1.2
I have synchronised my contact list with google, everything went great, i had my contacts with phones and EMAIL ADRESSES in contact list. But of course i've dealt with it by checking "Only contact with phones." Yay!
when im trying to SEARCH for specific contact (for example when writing sms) it shows all contacts, also SIM contacts and EMAIL contacts.."Only contact with phones" worked very well @ 2.3.6 because it wasn't showing email adresses and sim card contacts during search!
Is there any way to customise search results ? I don't want to see SIM contacts and contacts without phone numbers when searching..i can't find this option, or they've changed something and now i will have to scroll thru 263464325623897583248239 email adresses every time i will have to choose sms recipient.. ?

there are a bunch of prebundled apps that come with cyanogen I'd like to remove & replace (listed below); is it as simple as removing them from the .zip and adding the ones I want? Also the apps I want to add, can I also include their backup data from the /data folder or does that have to be done after? I think its just as simple as, extracting the zip files, removing the apks, and adding the ones I want, then repacking the zip?
Replace:
- Apollo with Poweramp
- Trebeck (or w/e it is) with Nova Prime
- AOSP Keyboard with SwiftKeyboard
- a custom kernel (just copy/replace the kernel zips files with whatever comes in cyanogens zip?)
- some others, but you get the gist
Remove:
- DSP Manager
- Exchange Services
- Email
- News & Weather
- some others (I know about the list(s) of safe apps to delete [1][2])
Add:
- Fonts
- Apps that I always install on a fresh install (Titanium Backup, Busybox, ROM Toolbox, etc)
I know about This Thread explaining how to build your own ROM, but I feel like that is more complicated process for (what seems simple) what I want to do.
I just rooted this and I want to customize it. Like change the wallpaper for starters...How can I go about that? Using rootexplorer?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Samsung galaxy s4 for a while, and I've never had a problem. But now, if I get a new text message, it doesn't ring or put the envelope in my notification bar. The only way to know is to go into my messages and see the new messages. I've resetted my messaging settings, but it still doesn't tell me that I have a text message. Other apps like Snapchat and Facebook notifications work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it is possible to customize the icon used for the More menu option (displayed when there are more than 6 menu options)? With the stock vanilla Android UI it appears as a disclosure-type arrow and on HTC Sense UI it's an ellipsis icon. Curious if these are fixed icons only defined in the Android resources or if there is a way to programmatically set them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've scoured the interwebs and found many posts regarding how to change the colors of a list view using a list selector. However it does not seem to work for me.So my question would be what am I doing wrong? When I use the below files I get a list where all item backgrounds are initially blue.(I expected white)When I move the focus up and down the text just changes to a dark grey and the item backgrounds are still blue. (This is when I would expect a single row to be blue with the rest white)When I click on a row the background of the row I clicked on turns black and all other rows turned green.(I expected to have the row I clicked turn green and the rest be white)

Can we customize each folder with a unique icon?
Is there a way to reduce the spacing between folder icons? For example, 2.1 gives us four locations horizontally and vertically, but 5x5 should still allow accurate finger detection.
Can we change the order of the icon appearances within a folder?
Can we put Folder B (or a shortcut to it) within Folder A?
I have created several folders (Apps, Games, etc.) on my G1 desktop. So my question are:
1) Is there a way of changing the icon of the folders from the dull plain grey one provided? if so how ?
2) Where are those folders created on the system ?
Annoying that when I go to select a wallpaper, the "Pictures" option pulls up every single image on my SD card (icons for apps, CD art, etc.), when all I want it to do it pull images from my "Wallpaper" folder.
Is there any way to customize what images get pulled? Can folders (like CD art) be hidden from gallery view so that they don't show up in the "Pictures" list?
I have a 2.2 Froyo Droid X not-rooted and I really don't want to root it. I've pretty much figured how to create shortcuts with custom icons, and I'm using Launcher Pro and Desktop Visualizer for the shortcuts that are not on my dock... what I want to know is, can I customize without rooting the icons of the applications themselves or no?
