General :: Can't Find CWM Backup Folder
May 8, 2014
I was running out of space on internal SD on my Samsung Galaxy S3, so I deleted the CWM backups (I thought I did) and that gave me back to 7GB of free space.
Ran the CWM backup again, but now, the only backup I can find is at mnt/sdcard/clockworkmmod/backup/1970-01-07.06.00.46. All the files in that folder are dated 1970 as well.
Free space went down to 4.xGB, so there is a backup somewhere (and the screen messages seemed normal as it ran).
The previous backup folders I deleted had the date of the backup as the first part of the filename, e.g. 2013-05-17.xxxxx. Is this 1970 one I am seeing my new backup? Why is it a 1970 date?
is there any way to get CWM to store the backup folder on extsd and restore from there?

When I try to recover my apps using Titanium Backup's "Extract from Nandroid" feature, it says "Could not find any data in this TWRP backup"
The files in my TWRP backup folder are
data.ext4.win000
data.ext4.win001
data.ext4.win002
md5 for the above
recover.log

Never had this issue before in the past 4 year I've used Clockworkmod but basically I have my backup folder on my external SD and whenever I try to restore a backup via the backup and restore menu in recovery I get an error saying there are none to be found.
Been googling for the past hour with no luck and it's now 3:05am and I'm just about ready to launch my device out the window.

New to the Galaxy Note 3. While setting up the phone, I selected a wallpaper that I had downloaded into the Gallery and set it as the wallpaper for the LOCK screen. It worked with no issues.
I then wanted to create a folder to move the picture into and the Gallery gave me that option. I created a folder named PICTURE A and moved the pic that I was using as a wallpaper for the LOCK screen into it.
I went to look for the folder later and it's not there. It's still using the picture I designated for the LOCK screen, but the folder is nowhere to be found. I've looked using My Files, looked in the Storage section of Settings and thru all the apps and such. Nothing.

SO basically, I'm using the "Online Nandroid Backup" app to create a nandroid to prepare for the upcoming 4.4 update and the whole root/unroot process. I want to know if I can move the backup folder from my phone to my PC (due to the complete erase that'll happen eventually), and then move it back. Will my phone recognize the backup as long as I use the same app to restore and have TWRP installed?

I have a really odd problem recently i rooted my phone (sgs4) and used TWRP (and later CWM) to make a backup of my system via recovery. However, at one point the backup failed due to insufficient space on my internal card, and now the phone keeps warning me that the phone is full. However - and here's my stupid problem - I don't remember which of the two backup programs I used when this happened, and however I search the card (using Root explorer) I'm unable to find ANY folder named backup, twrp, clockworkmod or anything comparable. Now, the files MUST be on the card somewhere, considering used storage jumped with about 4,5gb. before and after this incident. Where such files might be hidden?

I backed up all the system and user apps before installing the custom ROM CynaogenMod 10. I restored the user apps and it worked fine. Then I tried restoring the system apps and I had to choose to restore from either XML or system image. I chose system image, rebooted and the phone kept restarting. I then tried using the XML file to restore system files. Again the same problem; the phone kept restarting.
Out of the backed up system files, the most important one for me is the contacts. Is there any way I can restore only the contacts. I have the following files in the backup folder pertaining to contacts.
1) com.android.providers.contacts-1.properties
2) com.android.providers.contacts-1.tar.gz
3) com.android.providers.contacts-1.odex.gz
4) com.android.providers.contacts-1.apk.gz

I have an Android LG Optimus Q (through Straight Talk). Because I wanted a screenshot app and to be able to have more "internal" memory, I rooted my device today and did a couple of other things.
1) I first rooted my device (and therefore installed SuperUser)
3) I installed Terminal Emulator
2) I downloaded CWM
3) I made a back-up (it said Done...)
4) I installed ROM Manager
5) I created (or at least I think so, since I went through all the steps) a second partition in my SD so I could create more "memory" destined to be used by programs.
6) I downloaded Link2SD and moved a couple of things to (I think...) the second partition in the SD
Everything was going ok, even though I wasn't sure if the partition had been created or not because I couldn't find a way to check it... until I went to check my 800 pictures and... they were all gone!!! I decided not to freak out at first because I remembered that I had made a backup directly through CWM... so I tried retrieving it through there... and nothing - nothing found... WTF?!
So I tried checking for the backup through ROM Manager, and... NOTHING! There must be a way to at least recover the files... You know, like when you accidentally delete stuff in your camera you can still recover it with a program... is there anything like that? or steps I should follow to recover the backup? I had pictures of my kid there and I just REALLY don't want to count them as lost.

I just got my desire back from repair. I thought everything would be backed up, and that I could just load my backup file once the phone was started for the first time. But apparently, this is not the case... HTC has stopped the support for this backup from Android 2.1 to 2.2 they told me in their phone support.... They advised me to download a file manager, and locate e.g my sms messages, and recreate them from there. However, I have not been able to find that folder? I can se lots of other old data, so the sd card has not been formatted...

After you get done doing a nandroid backup, and you go in with an application like Astro, make sure there aren't any spaces in the folder name. Nandroid does not like that. Took a backup, tried a different ROM, didn't like it so went to go and restore my backup, wouldn't restore. It wouldn't get by the MD5 sum check. I just happened to notice there was a space in the name, mounted the memory card, removed the space, rebooted back into recovery and attempted to to the restore again, and success. Just a little tidbit of information I ran into first hand.

Is there any easy (preferably free) way that I can backup/sync my DCIM (pictures) to the "cloud"?
I probably don't need something that does it automatically. I think doing it on-demand when I want to would be fine.
I almost never need to connect my phone to the PC anymore, so I'd really love a way to safely backup the pictures without having to do so.

I was hoping someone could assist me. I have paid for and installed Titanium Backup, but can't seem to locate it on my phone, in the apps list or elsewhere to actually run the application. It is hiding from me. In the settings, applications, i can see it and see program details, but as far as a program exe i cant find how to actually start the program.

I am trying to get my hands on the Original Optus Firmware for Australia - my phone has stopped reading SIM cards (it is definitely hardware as I have flashed multiple different ROMS) and I need to get back to stock for warranty's sake. I have done some research but have been unable to find it. I believe that the number for it should be i7500DTII5 (according to this site).

Ok i have not been able to find any answers what so ever regarding the people that can not find the backup/restore option after entering the recovery mode. I have recently rooted using the new z4root application. I get a skull and crossbones supper user app, and was wondering if that means its different than the one with the ninja icon that everyone else gets.
Anyways, When i go to make a nandroid back up, i follow the steps to the letter, but when i get to the recovery menu, my options stop after the wipe baseband data option. there is absolutely nothing else there that says anything about backup/restore option everyone seems to be screaming about. Its not there!
Now please can someone figure out a solution to this problem?
My recovery looks like as follows: Android system recovery <3e>
Use d-pad to highlight: center to select.
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe baseband data

I have recently purchased an unlocked HTC Desire. As you may or may not know, here in Australia the only carrier of the Desire is Telstra. However I use 3 mobile so that's the reason I purchased an unlocked device.
My problem is that my phone has about a dozen or more apps which are installed by Telstra and uninstallable. Most of them are 100% useless because I'm not even on their network and I'd like them out of my applications list.
I've had a read around and I saw something about being able to remove them by deleting the file and then uninstalling them using a command prompt program.
Would anyone please be able to give me detailed instructions on how to do this because I'm not sure how to find the system/apps folder and I'm also not sure on how to get the command prompt thing to work.
