View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Micromax a27 (ninja) with android 2.3.5 gingerbread. I have been trying to root it since long but I can't do so. I tried the unlockroot method but after some time unlockroot would show the error "failed to get shell root, please use our pro services" I also tried with unlockroot pro(one of my friends has it) but it showed rooting failed, wait next upgrade. How I can root my device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know that how to open custom recovery in micromax a27 by key combinations. I have successfully flashed cwm recovery in my device & also I can go to recovery mode by quickboot or rom manager, but can't able to go to recovery by key combinations. The power & vol+ is opening the stock recovery mode not the cwm recovery mode, so, I need a way to open cwm recovery when my mobile is bricked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a ICS-device - the Walkman Z from Sony - which have no chance to get root; i tested all the programms, but nobody works. I found out, that the walkman z has a "recovery mode". It is possible to root a stock rom 4.0.4 with only the recovery mode?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI flashed + rooted (strangely in that order, which means I must have rooted my phone ages ago.. and then locked my bootloader after flashing..?)...
I do have Rom manager installed... but I don't quite recall how I ended up flashing the stock rom onto the phone..
Anyways, as I did seem to reset my phone, I upgraded all the apk packs and I'm pretty happy with the speed upgrade + ext2 internal space expansion.
As I now want to create a nandroid backup, so I can always come back to my current status, when I want a clean reinstall..!
My main question is that as I seem to have skipped creating a CWM recovery... if I do so now, will I loose all my data and go back to the basic stock rom?
The problem I'm facing right now is that I'm unable to boot into the recovery mode using either "adb reboot recovery" or the power on + vol buttons / menu button. (which means that I don't have the recovery mode installed.....)
So.... will I loose my current upgrades + phone settings (reset into factory mode), if I flash the recovery mode?
Well I decided to have a play and rooted my phone using the unrevoked method. All quite painless.
I flashed a version of DeFrost (2.2) and had a play, but encountered a couple of problems.
So I flashed 2.3 when is became available.
Then I haf problems with battery drain. Since then there have been a number of new releases of DeFrost - pretty much every day.
So I decided to restore my Nandroid backup and stick with the stock ROM until things settle down a bit.
Having done this, I can no longer get into recovery. The phone hangs on the Pink Circle screen and I have to pull the battery.
So has restoring the Nandroid backup which was made using the ClockWorkMod Recovery destroyed the recovery flash, and is that what you would expect or has something bizarre happened to me.
Just curious as I assumed that once the Recovery was on there it would stay there.
It's no big deal as I'm sure it will be just as easy to go through the rooting process again.
I'm feeling the itch to go beyond the standard settings in Android and get into rooting. I'm following along with a lot of the developments here, but I often feel like I'm missing a lot of the background knowledge and vocabulary (what is recovery, how does one access it, what are all these different programs - nandroid, adb, etc.) to have a really strong grasp of what's going on here.
Now, if this were my computer, I'd just hop right in and start following along as best I can and mess things up along the way, no biggie, I have multiple computers and I'm competent to fix them.
I don't have a landline though, so I want to be a little more prepared before I accidentally brick my link to the outside world. Is there a good "tinkering with Android primer" out there that any of you would recommend?
Also, how easy is it to get back from whence I came on the Ally? I read the thread on unrooting, and I honestly didn't understand a lot of it, so I'm just looking for a "not gonna happen" or "it'll be easy when you finally understand."
I just got my phone rooted and got the root image to load and did all that fun stuff but now im trying to get the recovery and flash image and i cant get it to work. i think SDK is the issue. i go to the command prompt and type in what the guide says and it saying "error device not found" i even did the all in one install on the guide page and it comes up with the same message.... does anyone have the slightest idea of how to get this worked out. im running windows xp with service pack three.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted with the first of toast's steps and running an early fresh rom 2.1. I never felt up to doing the rest of the steps and I never did the ota update. Does anyone know whether I can simply use the simple root to rerot or fully root with recovery now in order to flash the rooted 2.2 roms that require nand /recovery and does it matter that I never did the update?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I'm a new Captivate owner and want to try and root my phone and perhaps try bugless beast. For the life of me I cannot get it to boot into the recovery manager. Every thing I read says hold down the volume up volume down and power keys. I can't quite find the right mojo to get it going. Is there some sort of secret sequence you need to user to get it to recovery manager?
View 10 Replies View RelatedDownload these three files and put them in the root of your sdcard. (You must have ADB on your computer)
File 1 : Download (rename to "update.zip")
File 2 : Download
File 3 : Download(Handler 1.5)
Step 1 : Boot into stock recovery (Camera+Power then select down) (press Alt + L to see options)and flash file one.
Step 2 : Load up ADB when the computer recognizes it type.

I've been reading and I've downloaded the ROM Manager from the Marketplace. I've also downloaded a ROM to install. I have tried to boot my phone into recovery mode (pressing X while powering back on) and all I get to is a screen with the exclamation mark and a phone under it.
