General :: Nexus 7 2013 / Kitkat 4.4.2 - Can't Connect To Web
Jan 21, 2014I have enjoyed my nexus 7 2103, on 4.4.2, for a few weeks now. I got adblockplus to clean up my browsing. My office wifi wasn't letting me ssh tunnel to my home server, so I set up hotspot vpn shield, but it limits usage in the free version. So I grabbed connectbot and proxydroid to get in, root using wugfresh to make those work properly. Got what I needed from the home server, shut it down, and headed for home.
So I got home, and Chrome now says Unable to connect to proxy server. So I made sure connectbot and proxyserver were not connected, and deleted the profiles I'd set up. No luck. Deleted the apps. No luck. Deleted the apps, no luck. Turned off ad block plus and deleted that, no luck. Cleared out hotspot vpn shield, deleted, nothing.
So I tried factory reset, no luck. Then I read that some people have had luck reinstalling those apps that changed proxy settings, which hasn't worked for me yet. I've tried restoring the backup I made preroot, no luck.
What can I do to get my nexus back online? I finally found the proxy settings under kitkat (totally different than older versions, you press and hold the network name, NOT intuitive). I'm back online, and will tell my self I'll be more careful in the future. But I won't be.
General :: Connecting Wacton Tablet To Nexus 7 (2013)?
Apr 21, 2014I've heard that the Nexus 7 used to be compatible with Wacom drawing tablets, until the 4.2 update, and that rooting should allow me to bypass this problem.
I have just rooted my Nexus (first root ever, was pretty anxious xD), but I don't know what else I have to do to connect the Wacom lol.
Edit : Nooooo, auto-correct screwed up Wacom in the title xD, I guess I can't edit that part?

Mar 14, 2014When I go to change or assign a contact photo, I'm prompted like always to crop the photo I've selected. Once the crop is made and I hit done, an error message at the bottom is posted. "Edited photo can't be saved" and the photo is not assigned. This is something new that has just developed recently and seems to be specific to 4.4.2 on my 2 different Nexus devices.The only work around is to change the photo through gmail on my PC.

Jul 12, 2010I am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..

If your phone only gets one of those ugly battery symbols when a charger is connected to a powered off phone this is because the init process is interrupted by /system/bin/chargemon. That file is a binary ARM program, I replaced it with a simple script containing only a single line: echo skipping chargemon
The file was created and installed with the following steps:

When the command su is given above, it might have to be acknowledged in a dialog on the phone screen.
The final command reboot -p shuts down the phone. As the USB cable is still connected it will power on again, and if everything has gone fine the phone will complete its boot process without halting with any battery symbol.

Apr 24, 2012My phone( HTC Explorer /Pico A310) wont completely boot unless power cable is plugged. Yesterday, my phone just restarted when I was doing nothing. Then it goes till white screen where HTC logo is displayed(before boot animation) and restarts. It goes on repeatedly.
If I remove my battery and reinsert it after some time, phone starts automatically(without pressing power button) and goes to boot loop. I can enter into HBOOT by holding volume down key but factory reset, recovery etc wont work.
When I insert my power cable, It starts as it should, everything is fine. If I remove it while phone is on, it just restarts and whole process repeats..
My phone is not rooted, its still in stock rom GB 2.3.3. Its still S-ON.
I tried factory reset by power cable plugged in, reset was successful but nothing worked.. problem still there..
