I'm having trouble downloading Desktop Visualizer on my Samsung Captivate running 2.1. I've got a market fix installed, tried using Market Access, but still no luck. Is anyone else having this issue? The only post I've found regarding this is here: Desktop Visualizer - Android Forums

I have a folder where I store all my movie videos that I would like quick access. The Gallery is much too slow having to search all my pictures and videos on my entire 16GB SD Card to populate and it doesn't even display the video name (its difficult to identify movies by the small thumbnail it displays). The best way to launch these currently I find is to traverse the directory tree using an explorer app, but I prefer a quicker method if possible.

I have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor.
This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work.
Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView?
I am using API v4 (1.6).

I have three desktops (homescreens?) on phone. Moving finger left get me to desktop number 2 (right of 1), if i do it again, i am at the third desktop and from the third by swiping finger i will get to first. This is beaviour i dont want to. I want to go 1 >> 2 >> 3 >> and stop. And ofcourse back 3>> 2 >> 1 and stop. This is how is my tablet working, and I want to "tell" phone to behave the same. Have you experiences with some setting / utility / system modification that can do it ?
In Gingerbread, I could click menu button at my home screen and choose "Edit" and all my desktop screen will minimize and I can add screen or remove screen (including all widgets and shortcuts) just by dragging the screen to the bottom where it says Remove.
I could not find any way to do this in ICS?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled some system applications on my phone and I instantly regretted it and restored applications from back-ups using Wondershare MobileGo for Adroid. However, although it seems all the applications are working again, when I unlock the screen, I get a black screen - no desktop, no application list, but with the notification bar on top which works properly. The clock and calendar are displayed on the unlock screen and the alarm clock woke me up... I got some notifications on the black screen: process.android.acore, process.android.gapps and process.android.vending stopped working, process system stopped working.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, so I have an old phone (HTC Incredible S) and I want to load in a custom rom so that on start up only two apps are running and that's it. No desktop, no nothing else.
Fist of all I want to make sure this would even work. I imagine I would have control over the device via the ADB USB link but I would need to make sure that's ALWAYS available. I am an avid Linux user and cross compile on a monthly basis so I can learn the procedure easily enough.
I would be running a config app (for wifi, screen brightness, etc) that would also send back the accelerometer and compass data to my PC. The second app is an XRDP client so I can log into my desktop. This way I can have the power of my desktop on a portable device (around the house) but should increase battery life significantly. If this was to work then I can pick up a $200 used 10" tablet to make the setup more useful.
I would like to run .exe files for Windows (Desktop) PC on android.
I know most of you would say it's not possible, but I don't care if you say that. Everything is possible in this world. You just have to want it.
Most important reasons why it shouldn't work:
- EXEs are compiled for Windows
- CPU commands are different to the x86 processors
- WinAPI isn't available on Android
The application I want to run, will run on a couple of houndred of (Tablet) devices, a remote connection is not the way to go. The application is private, and not available on the market. There is no other application that could replace it.
Any VM for Android, or an other solution -> Performance doesn't matter!
For the beginning I want to try to run a small windows application, like notepad.exe on android devices. Besides of that there is also a way to run Win98 on Android. I havent tested it yet tho.
I have installed Desktop Notifications and Pushbullet. Both apps require me to enable them in the Notification Mirroring Service. To do that it always takes me wifi to switch the wifi on.I don't have wifi, I have 3G. How do I enable the service without wifi?

On the flip side, I have an ipad and through icloud, bookmarks are dynamically synched between the two - add bookmark in IE on PC and it appears on ipad, as well as the other way around.
I have found posts where people say on export/import, but that is a one time shot. Looking for something that is automated.
G+ messenger app within android G+ app works fine. However, I would like to be able to run Messenger on my desktop computer as well. It is much less cumbersome to type there. However, I don't seem to find any possibility to access it via G+ app in my chrome desktop browser. Also, there is no external app to run it. The only thing available is google talk, which does not include/show any of my messenger-conversations.
