I would like to make an Android application that user enter the number they would like to dial, and the app automatically format the number into *123*number# (that means the final number would contain 2 special character "*" and "#". Could you please help me how to let Android understand these special character and make the phone call in the right direction.

I connected my phone via USB to my RR sport to upload audio files to the RR hard drive. However, I keep getting connection error. Apparently my device is not being recognized as a storage. I did the unmount thinking. Also, I am wondering how I can play audio from my phone through the RR audio system.
RR is 2010.

As an individual that likes to keep my phone audio turned on with notification alerts....
How can I stop those alerts during phone calls?
I don't need to hear whistles or "you've got mail" coming through my calls.
It's most bothersome for the fact that I have a bluetooth handshake to my home handset and all the phone audio pushes through.
Is there a setting that turns off phone audio when in phone calls and then turns it back on after you hang up?

How can I regulate the framerate in my android app? I would like the game to run at a constant speed. My app doesn't require a high framerate so I don't want one because that would take up more battery then necessary.

I've got a problem with a flood of touch events destroying my game's framerate while there is a touch active. Basically onTouchEvent is called (with getAction = ACTION_MOVE, x = 0 and y = 0) about a hundred times a second for as long as the finger is touching the screen. I've tried returning from onTouchEvent straight away, and even removing its implementation at all, but it doesn't help - the app slows to a crawl as soon as a finger is down. I asked on the IRC channel and Romain Guy advised me that they're aware of the problem but didn't have time to fix it for Cupcake, so I'm not expecting a full solution!

I'm developing a game for Android. It's got a lot going on but is running reasonably smoothly. That is, of course, until the user touches the screen. While they're touching it, onTouchEvent is called (with action = ACTION_MOVE, x = 0 and y = 0) roughly once every ten milliseconds at what appears to be a fairly high priority, as it absolutely obliterates the framerate. As soon as the touch ends the framerate returns to its nice state.Has anyone encountered this? Is there a way to reduce the rate at which ACTION_MOVE events are generated, or to ensure that they're only generated when there is actual movement, or use a polling method that just gets the current location of the touch? Or even just a way to disable it entirely?

when playing videos the framerate is really poor, and sometimes it just plays the first few seconds of the vid and stops, but the audio continues. So, basically my question is, what are the best ideals for a video to play on the hero
Resolution?
File format?
Audio quality?
Vid Quality?
Framerate? et

Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I could send special characters (i.e: , , , , , ect) in text messages. Then, it wouldn't anymore. I believe my phone updated to Jelly Bean before it stopped, so it may be connected to that. When I try to send a message with any type of special character in it, the message simply won't send. No matter if I use the messenger than came on the phone, or the one I installed (Handcent). I still get the message just not sending. It'll send once I take the characters out of the message, though. I can normally receive messages containing special characters, but they sometimes it shows up as squares.
Mostly, I want to know if I can fix it. I understand that it may be the update, which I'll have to wait out. Or that it could be the phone itself, which in that case I'd just have to wait till I can upgrade again. It's just very annoying not being able to send accents or special characters. Especially to my Spanish only speaking friends.

Do you guy think that the 2.1 update will help smooth out the framerate on the SNESoid or does it require overclocking? Also I tried out a Link to the past just a couple minutes ago and noticed that the layers are all wrong. Like when it was raining, I couldn't see the actual landscape and was just guessing where I was going. Any idea on how to correct the layering issue?

I've got a conundrum that I can't seem to work out from Googling. I suppose I will give the background then my question.
I use my xperia z2 tablet at the gym to watch TV shows because the treadmill is even more uninteresting than the landscape around my place. I don't like to be hooked up to it via headphones because I don't want to accidentally pull it over. So - I use a bluetooth audio receiver I plug my headphones into, and they receive the audio from the tablet (which is paired with the receiver).
I would prefer to just use my phone in place of the receiver, because the receiver is cheap and doesn't work so well (and i cant believe it can't be done).
I thought two options could be:
1 using the phone as a bluetooth receiver, or
2 somehow using the wifi hotspot on the phone to enable the audio from the tablet to play through the phone.
Does something already exist or is it even possible?

I recently rooted my kyocera rise and everything was fine until I decided to install beats audio. My first mistake before installing the drivers was not backing up anything, yes I know that's bad. Okay so I installed the drivers with beats audio from the market then rebooted. Now I have no sound at all. No ring no music nothing. And my phone is running a lot worse now. Now come to find out apparently beats audio is not removable. The drivers can't be removed. I really need sound. Is there a way to unroot and completely factory reset the phone through factory settings?

I have a samsung galaxy s2 on AT&T running android 4.0.4. I have the bluetooth set up to play audio through my car stereo.
Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when I accidentally booted my phone into safe mode. I re-booted it back into normal mode, but a lot of my settings got messed up after that happened.
The odd thing is that now, when I am in my car, the phone connects to the stereo over bluetooth - I see the name of the song, artist, etc information on the car stereo, and can do things like skip to the next song using the controls in the car. However, the sound actually plays through the phone speaker instead of the car speakers!

I use Google Maps for my in-car turn by turn direction finder. However, when I am on my phone, it does not shut off the audio from Google Maps and so I get two voices in my ear simultaneously. Conversely, while listening to Pandora, it shuts off to allow me to hear the Google Maps directions. Is there a method to automatically suppress Google Maps audio when on the phone?

I'm having a strange problem with my Xperia Arc (4.0.4) that is proving very difficult to track down. When playing music or videos, after a random amount of time (maybe 20 or 30 seconds) the phone will crash and restart. This happens regardless of the app I use - Play Music, Poweramp, MX Player and YouTube. I have restored my phone using CWM to a much earlier backup, but eventually (within a few hours) the problem returns.
My only other recourse would seem to be a full wipe and return to stock firmware, which would be a major PITA and obviously wouldn't support if this is a hardware issue or some conflict with an update

Maybe its just my phone acting "special" but if I open the browser and allow Google to find my location (its my home page) then the browser will close while trying to find where I am.
If I stop it before it gets to that part and open a different page or just decline the website's ability to find my location then it will stay up and running without further issue.
Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions? I've cleared all cache, cookies, etc etc. Maps works fine and finds my exact location so I'm just kinda uuhhhh not sure
