Sep 8, 2013I recently purchased an acer iconia b1-a71 tablet. It has come with android 4.1.2, and there is no further system updates are available. I would like to upgrade to jelly bean 4.2 - my reason for this is because I can't seem to bluetooth pair my tablet and htc one together for internet tethering. I've read that jelly bean 4.2 may fix this.

I upgraded to RV05RC05, which I was led to believe contained jelly bean 4.2 - but the tablet still says its 4.1.2. I also rooted it using this page: [URL]... but it's still the same.
So is there actually an operating system update to jelly bean 4.2? Or, is there a way that I can bluetooth pair for internet tethering (from the phone, to the tablet) without the update?

Dec 25, 2013Bought a Kocaso M1066 Tablet from nomorerack.com as a Christmas gift. When we opened the box and turned it on, it instantly started displaying the "System UI has stopped working" message. As soon as you hit the "Ok" button, the message comes back. Waiting to hear back from customer service if I should sent it back to them or manufacturer. I know there is a service mode of Android, but cant seem to find the right keys to hold down on power-up.

Apr 2, 2013I'm encountering some problems when i'm trying to update my Hyundai T7S tablet to the official jelly bean 4.2 ROM.
I've the update from the Hyundai website (hyundai-digital .cn). This download comes in a .rar file. I knew it would be impossible, but tried anyway to flash this file from the SD-card. But to make it work this way, the update should be a .zip-file.
In the .rar file are 15 files, some of them are .bin and .img files. And I've not the knowledge what I can do with these files. Unfortunately the support guide of Hyundai can not be opened and two hours Google.
Is it possible to convert the .rar file into a .zip file and flesh this file? Or can I flash the rar-file in some way?

I have tried rooting it with Oneclick,UnlockRoot and SRS Root and they all said rooting was successful but again i check with the app and it says its not rooted.

How can I get logcat info from his device without asking him to install entire Android SDK? Any simple software on the phone or on the Windows computer can do this trick?
General :: Swype 1.3.1.9274 Not Working On Jelly Bean 4.1.2?
Oct 18, 2012I was prompted to update swype this morning. I did so, and now everytime I select swype it closes automatically and I get the android keyboard.
- Swype Beta is checked in Language & Input (android keyboard is selected and grey in this screen)
- Choose Input Method screen. I select "Swype Beta". It flashes to Swype. Then reverts back to Android keyboard immediately
- I have cleared cache, etc. and rebooted the phone. This brought me to the new swype EULA and activation process. Which I did successfully. I rechecked all settings.
- I have since uninstalled. Reinstalled. Reactivated. Selected. Rebooted. Etc. Nothing.
Still nothing but silence from Swype about this set of issues that are spreading like wildfire across multiple Android forums I am a member of.

Dec 21, 2013Bought a cheap tablet off Amazon (running 4.2). Tried installing the SKY Go app. Unable to watch any content as it states the device is rooted (not done by me, wouldn't know where to start!). Basically, can the root be removed? i have trawled the internet for a solution. Some sites talk about super user which i cannot see anywhere.
Downloaded a file manager app, no SU in /system/bin/su or /system/app/Superuser.apk. There is one in /system/xbin/su which it will not let me delete.

Camera is starting but not able to see any picture and also Gallery location in Camera app is not showing. When I capture any image, the screen goes to GREEN colour and it got hang.

Feb 5, 2014I have a problem with my Android Tablet (not sure if Android 4.1/4.2/4.3 but well, possibly). I wanted to use it for a bit, but it froze right when I opened the browser. I pressed the switch button, it went black and then it didn't switch on or did anything at all. After a while, it worked again, not really, but well, it showed the last thing I was doing while using it, but it was still frozen and I couldn't do anything. Now it stays like that and nothing happens. I tried pressing the switch button (together with the up/down volume), but nothing happens. It stays like that, turned on and frozen. My friend suggested me to leave it like that until the battery dies (when I was last using it, it had 40-30% battery left).
My tablet is from a network brand (or whatever it is called), Cosmote (Cosmote MyTab) and it worked perfectly so far ): I'll take it to a service if it still stays like that, but I would avoid that, since my parents will think I did something wrong, even if I didn't!

Mar 6, 2014my samsung tablet doesn't have much memory for games and what not, but i recently tried to install some game that lookup 1.1gb of space, but it couldnt download due to insufficient storage, well it still downloaded as much as it could but i cannot delete what it downloaded, this isn't my tablet and it needs to be returned in 10 hours, I already 'Googled' my issue and tried to reboot/restart the device which didn't do anything, i went into Settings>Application Manager> and tried to delete said application, but it never appeared on the list, even when i did sort by size.I deleted the cache and tried everyting i could.

I also have to double click to get to anything...SO annoying. I know I have to get to settings, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get to the second page of apps (where the settings is). It won't slide because it's set to double click I guess...no clue!

Feb 13, 2014I want to be able to pull in google plus photos when using photoshop touch and autostitch apps etc. But their import options only access local folders on my device. I can download individual photos one at a time to a generic download folder from google plus to use, not full albums. When I try to create a new folder in gallery, and move the Picasa/Google Plus photos I get a notice saying "unsupported file." I read somewhere that there should be an option in gallery that makes photos available offline, but I don't have that. Just basically trying to be able to organize and download my g+ photos for use with these apps, in a less time consuming way.

Feb 11, 2014I got a new Experia Z Tablet this morning and I'm ready to throw it out of the window in a minute. I have been on android for a long time with the same email. Gmail address. I received my new tablet this morning. Turned it on and after setting up logged in with my email that have used for years and am currently using on a HTC one but I'm getting the 403 error whenever try to download an app or even re populate the tablet with the same apps I have on my phone. I've researched lots and tried the deleting cash and stop services etc. Still no joy.
I've factory reset tablet. Kept on wifi and tried again. Still the same. I've made a new Gmail account. Tried again. Still the same. I'm at a loss to what to do. If even after making a new Google log in etc it won't work where do I go now. I don't want multiple accounts I just want to have the same account across my phone and tablet. Oh and it's the lte version by the way. I've tried not entering any mobile network details and using only wifi at first and it doesn't work. Then I tried not using wifi but only using the mobile network and still the same. Also the is no proxy setting in mine to delete. I don't mind factory resetting again as I've got nothing on here anyway as I can't download any apps. With any account. Old or new.

May 15, 2014I was wondering if there was a way I can root my Acer Iconia B1-710 Android tablet ([URL]... ) It is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. I have tried multiple methods but it keeps telling me that I have not enabled USB debugging mode (and yes I activated it & the thing that allows non official apps).
I did find this thread on the matter ( [URL].... ) but I am not sure if it is out dated and what to do with any of the files. Also if it is possible, installing a ROM ( at least thats what I think it is) that will aid me in making my battery last longer).

clear the cache of various google apps
turning the phone off and on
The last action I did before it worked was to uninstall the 'microsoft outlook app'.
General :: Acer A700 USB - Laptop Won't Recognise The Tablet?
Jan 4, 2014I've got A700 and I'm trying to root it but I've got a problem. I tried it with every key combination (power, volume up & down) I found on the internet but they don't work.
I also tried it when using the USB port but my PC and my laptop won't recognise the tablet. I've downloaded the drivers from Acer but when I install them my PC asks to install NET frameworks 2.0.5727. This version is no longer available but Frameworks 3 also worked according to Microsoft. After this installation the drivers from Acer still don't want to install. Then I tried it with Android USB driver but the same problem keeps coming back.
When I plug the tablet on my PC and look in the windows device manager there is a yellow triangle on the USB port with an error code 43. I've got the same problem and errors on my laptop. They both work on Windows 8.1. Could it be that the problem is on my tablet's USB? There is no problem when charging.

I want to reset my galaxy but when I go home+up+on it puts me into downloading mode and it won't let me reset my device and wipe my data. I tried using Odin on my computer but I kept getting error messages. I'd really like to unroot my device and have it to factory settings again.

Feb 27, 2014I've got a Chinese phone Pomp W89 and I wanted to put a custom rom on it, I tried to install cwm and twrp but I've found out they don't support my device, so I went on needrom and found a recovery file for my phone which I downloaded and used rom manager to flash.
But I've then worked out the file was corrupted and since then I can't get into recovery mode the phone just showed a brief white screen then boots up normally, it does say recovery mode at the bottom but never goes into it, I then found a complete recovery file for my phone and flashed that but the same thing happens without the brief white screen just a black one then it boots up normally.
I've tried cwm to flash and several other programs and I also then tried the terminal emulator to flash which I think was successful but the exact same thing happens, I just don't understand if the new recovery.img has been flashed why would nothing change? There was already a recovery.img on the phone which I kept a copy of and that makes no difference either.
I was going to flash using my computer but I have windows 8 and can't get the usb drivers to install for the phone.
